| Card | Earns | Rate here | The cap, and the rule it comes from |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fibe Axis Bank Credit Card Axis Bank | accelerated | 1.00% | 3% on MCC 5499 (miscellaneous food stores), the only grocery-adjacent code on the accelerated list |
| Swiggy Ornge HDFC Bank Credit Card HDFC Bank | accelerated | 1.00% | 5% through Swiggy Instamart inside the Swiggy app. A supermarket swipe (MCC 5411 and neighbours) is not on HDFC's eligible list and earns the 1% base |
| Swiggy BLCK HDFC Bank Credit Card HDFC Bank | accelerated | 1.00% | 10% through Swiggy Instamart inside the Swiggy app. A supermarket swipe (MCC 5411 and neighbours) is not on HDFC's eligible list and earns the 1% base |
| Swiggy HDFC Bank Credit Card HDFC Bank | accelerated | 1.00% | Instamart counts as Swiggy app spend at 10%, inside the ₹1,500-a-cycle Swiggy ceiling; a department store online earns the 5% rung inside its separate ₹1,500 ceiling; a physical grocer earns 1% inside the ₹500 ceiling. Three different answers for the same weekly shop, decided by where it is bought |
| AU Altura Credit Card AU Small Finance Bank | accelerated | 1.00% | 2% cashback at grocery and departmental stores — capped at ₹50 of cashback a statement cycle, so ₹2,500 of grocery exhausts it and everything after earns the 1% tier, which has its own ₹50 ceiling |
| Axis Bank Cashback Axis Bank | accelerated | 0.75% | Online groceries ride the 2/5/7% ladder; the same basket bought in the shop earns the 0.75% base |
| Kotak Cashback+ Kotak Mahindra Bank | accelerated | 0.50% | 5% on ONLINE groceries only — 20 Reward Points per ₹100 at the ₹0.25 house value; the same basket bought in the shop earns the 0.5% base. Shares the 750-point monthly bucket with the other 5% legs and the 3% fuel leg, about ₹3,750 of online grocery spend a month at that rate |
| Kotak Cashback+ Prime Kotak Mahindra Bank | accelerated | 0.50% | 5% on ONLINE groceries only — 20 Reward Points per ₹100 at the ₹0.25 house value; offline grocery earns the 0.5% base. Shares the 750-point monthly bucket with the other 5% legs and the 3% fuel leg, about ₹3,750 of online grocery spend a month at that rate |
| ICICI Bank Parakram Select ICICI Bank | accelerated | 0.50% | 10 RP per ₹100 (2.5% at ₹0.25 a point) on grocery and department stores, capped at 1,000 RP a month — about ₹10,000 of accelerated spend, half what the base Parakram gets before its cap bites. Spend past it earns the 2 RP base. |

| ICICI Bank Parakram ICICI Bank | accelerated | 0.25% | 5 RP per ₹100 (1.25% at ₹0.25 a point) on grocery and department stores, capped at 1,000 RP a month — about ₹20,000 of accelerated spend. | RBL Shoprite RBL Bank | accelerated | 0.25% | 20 RP/₹100 on grocery — RBL defines it as MCC 5411, 5422, 5441, 5451 and 5499 — capped at 1,000 RP a month, so roughly ₹5,000 of grocery a cycle exhausts it and the rest earns the base 2 RP/₹100. Every rupee still counts toward the ₹1.5 lakh waiver |
| RBL Patanjali Vishisht RBL Bank | accelerated | 0.25% | A Patanjali store bills as grocery and pays 10% cashback, which RBL caps at ₹6,000 a year — every other grocer pays the base 1 RP/₹100. All of it counts toward the annual milestone |
| RBL BankBazaar SaveMax RBL Bank | accelerated | 0.25% | 5 RP/₹100 on grocery — five times the base — capped at 1,000 RP a month, so about ₹20,000 of grocery a cycle exhausts the rung and the rest earns 1 RP/₹100 |
| AU LIT Credit Card AU Small Finance Bank | accelerated | 0.25% | 1 RP/₹100 base, or 5X/10X (5–10 RP/₹100) if the online or offline feature is bought, and there is a separate 5% grocery cashback feature capped at ₹500 per 30-day period. AU defines grocery as MCC 5411, 5422, 5441, 5451, 5462, 5499 and 5921. All of it is a PAID feature — LIT's rungs cost money to switch on |

| HDFC Infinia Metal HDFC Bank | capped | 3.33% | 2,000 RP/month cap (≈₹60k spend) since 1-Jan-2023 |
| HDFC Diners Club Black Metal HDFC Bank | capped | 3.33% | 2,000 RP/month cap since 1-Jan-2023 |
| ICICI Emeralde Private Metal ICICI Bank | capped | 3.00% | Confirmed 1,000 RP/category/statement-cycle cap (about ₹33,333 of grocery spend) — same official 1,000-RP figure as utilities/education, verified 2026-07-14; the ₹40k/month spend-cap framing does not check out, flag resolved |
| DBS Altitude DBS Bank India | capped | 2.00% | DBS heads the capped row "Grocery, Utility, Telecom Transactions" but lists only utility/telecom MCCs (4814, 4816, 4899, 4900) beside it — the 1,200-point monthly ceiling is stated for the row, the grocery MCCs are not |
| HDFC Regalia Gold HDFC Bank | capped | 1.63% | 2,000 RP/month cap (Regalia Gold explicitly in the 2k list; most non-premium HDFC cards get 1k) |
| Tata Neu Infinity SBI Card SBI Card | capped | 1.50% | 5% at BigBasket as a Tata brand — 5 NeuCoins per ₹100, since 1 NeuCoin is ₹1 — but total grocery NeuCoins are capped at 2,000 NeuCoins a month, about ₹40,000 of grocery spend a month at that rate (§11.4i) |
| HSBC Live+ HSBC | capped | 1.50% | MCC 5411/5422/5441/5451/5462/5499/5921 earn the accelerated 10% — but the accelerator shares ONE ₹1,200 ceiling a month with dining, shopping and utilities (the guide never specifies calendar vs. billing-cycle month, only "a month") |
| Equitas PowerMiles Equitas Small Finance Bank | capped | 1.50% | Earns but capped at 2,000 RP/month (published cap) |
| HDFC Diners Club Privilege HDFC Bank | capped | 1.00% | ~2,000 RP/month cap (HDFC generic since 1-Jan-2023) — community, flag |
| HSBC RuPay Cashback HSBC | capped | 1.00% | 10% cashback — groceries and supermarkets are the accelerated band, and HSBC's own table names 5411, 5422, 5441, 5451, 5462, 5499 and 5921 as "Accelerated CB". But the cap is the fact that matters — "Cashback across both categories is capped at INR 400" a month, ACROSS the 10% and 1% rates together, so ₹4,000 of grocery spend exhausts a whole month's cashback for the entire card. One exception inside the category: Wholesale Clubs (5300) is Zero CB |
| Axis Bank SELECT Axis Bank | capped | 1.00% | Grocery Stores are on the 'Retail Shopping' list, so they earn the 2X (20 EDGE/₹200 ≈ 2%) — but only up to ₹20,000 of cumulative accelerated spend a month, then 10 EDGE/₹200 |
| Tata Neu Plus SBI Card SBI Card | capped | 1.00% | 2% at BigBasket as a Tata brand — 2 NeuCoins per ₹100, since 1 NeuCoin is ₹1 — but total grocery NeuCoins are capped at 1,000 NeuCoins a month, about ₹50,000 of grocery spend a month at that rate, and half the Infinity tier's 2,000 (T&C §11.4h) |
| Shoppers Stop Black HDFC Bank HDFC Bank | capped | 1.00% | "Accrual of Reward Points on Grocery Spends capped at 1000 points per month per customer" |
| Paytm HDFC Bank Select HDFC Bank | capped | 1.00% | "Accruals on grocery spends are capped at 1000 cashpoints per month" (1 January 2023) |
| ICICI Bank Emeralde ICICI Bank | capped | 1.00% | Grocery and departmental-store spend earns on the first ₹40,000 a statement cycle |
| IRCTC HDFC Bank Credit Card HDFC Bank / IRCTC | capped | 1.00% | "Reward Points on grocery is capped maximum at 1000 Reward Points per month and 12000 Reward Points Annually" — the same ceiling the 5X IRCTC accelerator carries |
| HDFC Bank PIXEL Play HDFC Bank | capped | 1.00% | 5% CashPoints if Grocery is one of your two chosen brand packs — Blinkit online and Reliance Smart Bazaar physical stores only, capped 500 CashPoints a month, and JioMart's online portal is expressly excluded; otherwise the 1% base |
| LIC IDFC FIRST Select IDFC FIRST Bank | capped | 1.00% | MCC 5411, inside the same 600-RP-a-month essentials ceiling shared with utilities, telecom, education and government; IDFC publishes no split of that ceiling, so none of it belongs to groceries alone |
| Paytm HDFC Bank HDFC Bank | capped | 1.00% | Groceries earn the 1% but accrual is capped at 1,000 CashPoints a month |
| Standard Chartered Smart Standard Chartered | capped | 1.00% | No category rate exists on this card — grocery spend earns 2% if the transaction is online and 1% if it is not, and both buckets are capped in rupees at ₹1,000 and ₹500 a month respectively |
| PhonePe SBI Card SELECT BLACK SBI Card | capped | 1.00% | Groceries are neither accelerated nor excluded, so they earn 1 point per ₹100 in store against the 2,000-point monthly "other spends" ceiling, or 5 per ₹100 bought online against the separate 1,000-point online ceiling |
| HDFC Regalia HDFC Bank | capped | 1.00% | 2,000 RP/month — Regalia named in the official 2k-cap list alongside Regalia Gold (w.e.f. 1-Jan-2023) |
| HDFC Regalia Activ HDFC Bank | capped | 1.00% | "Reward points earned on grocery transaction will be capped at 2000 RP per calendar month" w.e.f. 1-Jan-2023 |
| Kotak Zen Signature Kotak Mahindra Bank | capped | 0.83% | Departmental stores are part of the 10-points-per-₹150 shopping tier; plain grocery and supermarket MCCs fall to the 5-point base. Either way the 6,500-point billing-cycle ceiling binds first |
| ICICI Bank Expressions ICICI Bank | capped | 0.75% | Grocery and departmental-store spend earns on the first ₹20,000 a statement cycle |
| IndianOil Axis Bank Premium Axis Bank | capped | 0.67% | 2 EDGE Miles per ₹150 (MCC 5411) on the first ₹5,000 a statement month — the accelerated leg capped at 33 miles — then 1 per ₹150 |
| IndianOil HDFC Bank Credit Card HDFC Bank | capped | 0.64% | 5 Fuel Points per ₹100 on MCC 5411, 5499, 5921 and 5462, with a minimum transaction of ₹150 — but capped at 100 Fuel Points a month, about ₹2,000 of spend, after which the category earns nothing. Note the tension in HDFC's own documents — Table 1.1 accelerates these grocery MCCs while §2.1 lists "Supermarkets" among the categories that accrue no points at all, so a supermarket outside those four codes is a dead spend |
| RBL Platinum Maxima RBL Bank | capped | 0.50% | 10 RP per ₹100 — but grocery shares a single 1,000-point monthly ceiling with dining, entertainment and international spend, so the accelerator runs out around ₹10,000 of combined accelerated spend a cycle |
| RBL Platinum Maxima Plus RBL Bank | capped | 0.50% | 10 RP per ₹100 — but grocery shares a single 1,000-point monthly ceiling with dining, entertainment and international spend, so the accelerator runs out around ₹10,000 of combined accelerated spend a cycle |
| SBI Card ELITE SBI Card | capped | 0.50% | 10 points per ₹100 (2.5%) on departmental stores and groceries, but the accelerated pool caps at 10,000 points a calendar month and then reverts to the 2-point base. The register also switches the accelerated rate off entirely at Metro Cash & Carry, Flipkart Wholesale and Walmart, naming ELITE among the cards it applies to |
| SBI Card PRIME SBI Card | capped | 0.50% | 10 points per ₹100 (2.5%) on MCC 5311 and 5411, sharing a 7,500-point monthly ceiling with dining and movies, after which it drops to 2 points per ₹100. Switched off entirely at Metro Cash & Carry, Flipkart Wholesale and Walmart, which the register names PRIME among |
| ICICI Sapphiro ICICI Bank | capped | 0.50% | 2/₹100 up to ₹20k–40k spend/month (Nov-2024; tier wording ambiguous — flag) |
| ICICI Bank Coral ICICI Bank | capped | 0.50% | Grocery and departmental-store spend earns only on the first ₹20,000 a statement cycle — half the utility ceiling, and the tightest cap on the card |
| ICICI Bank HPCL Super Saver ICICI Bank | capped | 0.50% | Inside the same 5% bucket as utilities and sharing the same 400-point statement-cycle ceiling — the two categories do not get 400 each |
| IDFC FIRST HPCL Power+ IDFC FIRST Bank | capped | 0.50% | 30 RP/₹150 — 5% — on just ₹2,000 of grocery spend a statement cycle, and grocery and utility SHARE that ₹2,000 ceiling: 400 reward points a cycle between them, then nothing |
| ICICI Bank HPCL Coral Credit Card ICICI Bank | capped | 0.50% | Grocery and departmental-store spend earns on the first ₹20,000 a statement cycle (MCC 3333, 5411, 5412, 5441, 9751, 5311, 5331, 5499) and nothing after |
| ICICI Bank Platinum Chip Credit Card ICICI Bank | capped | 0.50% | Grocery and departmental-store spend (MCC 3333, 5411, 5412, 5441, 9751, 5311, 5331, 5499) earns on the first ₹20,000 a statement cycle — half the utility ceiling — and nothing beyond it |
| IndianOil Kotak Credit Card Kotak Mahindra Bank | capped | 0.50% | 12 Reward Points per ₹150 — 2% at 25p — on MCC 5411, 5311, 5399, 5422, 5451 and 5441, sharing an 800-point statement-cycle ceiling with dining, which is about ₹10,000 of combined spend. Past it, the 3-per-₹150 base |
| ICICI Bank Coral against FD ICICI Bank | capped | 0.50% | Grocery and departmental-store spend earns only on the first ₹20,000 a statement cycle — the tightest cap on the card |
| ICICI Bank Rubyx against FD ICICI Bank | capped | 0.50% | Grocery and departmental-store spend earns only on the first ₹40,000 a statement cycle |
| KVB SBI Signature Card SBI Card | capped | 0.50% | 10 points per ₹100 (2.5%) on departmental stores and groceries up to 10,000 points a month, then back to the 2-point base — and switched off entirely at Metro Cash & Carry, Flipkart Wholesale and Walmart, which the register applies to the Signature tier by name |
| KVB SBI Platinum Card SBI Card | capped | 0.50% | 10 points per ₹100 (2.5%) on departmental stores up to 7,500 points a month, then back to base, and switched off at Metro Cash & Carry, Flipkart Wholesale and Walmart |
| South Indian Bank SBI Platinum Card SBI Card | capped | 0.50% | 10 points per ₹100 (2.5%) on departmental stores up to 7,500 points a month, then back to base, and switched off at Metro Cash & Carry, Flipkart Wholesale and Walmart |
| Chennai Super Kings ICICI Bank ICICI Bank | capped | 0.50% | Departmental-store and grocery spend earns on the first ₹20,000 a statement cycle only; the card T&C carves "departmental Store purchases" out of the 2 RP base line as well |
| Axis Bank REWARDS Axis Bank | capped | 0.32% | Departmental stores are the card's 10X category — 20 EDGE REWARD Points per ₹125 ≈ 3.2% at ₹0.20 — but the 9X bonus is capped at 1,008 points a statement month, which is ₹7,000 of spend. Past that it falls to the 2-per-₹125 base. |
| BPCL SBI Card OCTANE SBI Card | capped | 0.25% | 10 Reward Points per ₹100 (2.5%) on groceries MCC 5411 and departmental stores MCC 5311, but the 10X pool is shared with dining and movies and caps at 7,500 Reward Points a month across all four; the accelerated rate is switched off entirely at Metro Cash & Carry and Walmart, which then earn the 1 point per ₹100 base |
| HDFC Bank UPI RuPay HDFC Bank | capped | 0.25% | 3 CashPoints per ₹100 (0.75% at ₹0.25 a point) on groceries and supermarkets, sharing a 500-CashPoint calendar-month ceiling with dining and PayZapp — about ₹16,700 of combined spend exhausts it, after which grocery earns nothing more that month. HDFC reads the category from the MCC RuPay assigns: "If in case the MCC is not available in the set-up, such transactions will not qualify for the benefit" |
| HDFC Bank MoneyBack+ HDFC Bank | capped | 0.25% | BigBasket and Reliance Smart SuperStore sit inside the 10X list; grocery spend anywhere else earns the base rate and is capped at 1,000 Reward Points a calendar month, in force since 1 Jan 2023 |
| HDFC Bank Freedom HDFC Bank | capped | 0.07% | "With effect from 1st January 2023, Reward points earned on Grocery transactions will be capped per month to 1,000 reward points" — half the utility ceiling |
| RBL Platinum LifeEasy RBL Bank | capped | — | 5% back (paid in Reward Points) capped at ₹200 a month — the only one of the pages three advertised rates the exclusion footnote does not contradict |
| Standard Chartered Beyond Standard Chartered | reduced | 2.00% | 3 RP per ₹150 (2%) — "Supermarkets" in the §4.1.2 list |
| Standard Chartered Ultimate Standard Chartered | reduced | 2.00% | 3 RP/₹150 (2%) on supermarkets MCC 5411 since 2-Apr-2023 |
| IRCTC SBI Card Premier SBI Card | reduced | 0.80% | Base 1 RP/₹125 (0.8%) retail rate |
| YES First Preferred YES Bank | reduced | 0.50% | 4 points per ₹200 vs 8 points per ₹200 — groceries (5411) and convenience stores (5499) are Select categories on Preferred, and they survived the 15-Jun-2026 cut |
| BOBCARD Eterna BOBCARD (Bank of Baroda) | earns nothing | — | Zero earn — supermarkets/convenience/variety/retail (5261/5331/5411/5499) sit in Annexure 1 (official rewards T&C) |
| BOBCARD Tiara BOBCARD (Bank of Baroda) | earns nothing | — | Zero points — Annexure 1's "Supermarket and convenience store, Variety Stores, Retail Store" row covers 5261, 5331, 5411 and 5499 |
| BOBCARD Premier BOBCARD (Bank of Baroda) | earns nothing | — | Zero points — Annexure 1's "Supermarket and convenience store, Variety Stores, Retail Store" row covers 5261, 5331, 5411 and 5499 |
| HPCL ENERGIE BOBCARD BOBCARD (Bank of Baroda) | earns nothing | — | Zero points, and this is the trap on a card whose accelerator is "departmental store": the accelerated MCC is 5311, which is NOT a grocery code. Annexure 1's supermarket row covers 5261, 5331, 5411 and 5499, so an actual supermarket swipe earns nothing at all |
| Shoppers Stop HDFC Bank HDFC Bank | earns nothing | — | Zero points — "Supermarkets" is named outright in HDFC's exclusion list for this card, alongside bakeries and package stores selling beer, wine and liquor |
| RBL World Safari Lite RBL Bank | n/a | — | RBL publishes no earn rate for general spend on this card — only domestic travel merchants and its own flights/hotels portal earn anything |

| PhonePe HDFC Bank Uno HDFC Bank | n/a | — | HDFC publishes no earn rate for general spend on this card — groceries outside the seven named online brands earn nothing |
Best grocery credit cards in India (2026)
The desk's call for the category — a different question from the podium above. The podium ranks what ₹100 of groceries & supermarkets returns on a swipe today; this board ranks on ₹/yr at ₹15,000/mo of groceries , and 2 cards tie at the top. Same data, two views, and each says its own question.
Which is the best credit card for groceries in India?
2 cards tie at the top — Swiggy HDFC Bank Credit Card and Swiggy BLCK HDFC Bank Credit Card — on ₹18,000 a year at ₹15,000 a month of groceries (₹1,80,000 a year). Swiggy HDFC Bank Credit Card gets there on 10.00% at Swiggy and Instamart, falling to 1.00% on the same basket bought anywhere else. Its rate is bounded — 10%, capped at ₹1,500 a billing cycle · which it reaches at ₹15,000 of Swiggy spend — and at ₹15,000 a month that bound does not bind. THE CEILING IS THE PRODUCT HERE, and it is smaller than any grocery ad admits: of the 39 here whose grocery accelerator we can price, 15 stop before ₹15,000 a month does and 10 pay only inside a named chain, a channel, one day of the week or above a minimum bill. The other 174 ranked cards have no grocery accelerator at all and earn whatever the card earns everywhere.
A 5% grocery card is a 5% card on the first few thousand rupees and a 1% card after that. 15 of the 39 accelerators here run out before ₹15,000 a month of shopping does. Priced with the lock and the ceiling applied.
Verified through · The records behind this board — the card records this ranks and the grocery rules on our fine-print desk — carry re-verification dates from 1 Jun 2026 to 25 Sept 2026; the board is recomputed from them on every build.

4 more questions about this board — how the rate is worked out, and what else readers ask
How is this ranking computed?
ONE NUMBER, THREE FACTS INSIDE IT. (1) THE ACCELERATED RATE: the grocery rung the card's own earn table publishes, at its currency's house ₹/point — admitted only where the desk's own `groceries` rule in data/mcc.yaml states the SAME number, so a rung that is merely grocery-adjacent cannot out-rank a published rate. A rung may only ever RAISE a card above what it pays across the whole category, never lower it. (2) THE CEILING, converted to ₹ of grocery spend a month — the issuer's own spend-equivalent where it published one, else its rupee ceiling divided by the rate, else its POINTS ceiling divided by the raw rate stated in the same sentence, which is the only division that survives a card baking a haircut into its earn. Above the ceiling the card earns its ordinary grocery rate, and the card's own monthly earn cap bounds the lot. A rung that SAYS it is capped and states the cap in units nothing here converts is refused outright rather than priced as uncapped — 0 cards are ranked at the category rate for that reason and each row says so. 1 more card ranks at the category rate for a different reason: the desk's own rule puts its ceiling in ONE bucket shared across categories with no published split, so no ceiling is applied to a grocery bill — each row says so. (3) THE LOCK, printed and NOT discounted: a BigBasket-only, online-only, Wednesday-only or minimum-basket rate is priced at full, the way /best/fuel prices a BPCL-locked pump, because the reader picks the shop the way they pick the pump. ₹15,000 a month is an urban household's supermarket-and-quick-commerce bill, and it is stated because the ceilings here land between ₹50 and ₹2,500 of reward a month: the reference is what decides which of them bind. Grocery VOUCHERS and milestone benefits are not added to any row — a ₹1,000 BigBasket voucher for crossing an annual spend is not a rate, and /calculator prices milestones. 225 priced cards carry a grocery rule on the fine-print desk and 213 of them are ranked above; 420 priced cards have no grocery rule here yet and appear on no part of this page.
How many cards are in this groceries ranking?
213 of the 973 Indian personal cards on the desk are ranked here. 12 are listed unranked with the computed reason — not ranked — no grocery number this desk will stand behind — because a card we can't rank honestly gets named, not hidden. A further 328 are carried but not valued at all — 51 with no annual fee any issuer document states, 231 whose issuer has not published how the card earns, 46 with neither — because scoring an unknown as ₹0 is a claim, not a gap. Business and corporate cards are ranked apart from these: 70 priced ones sit on /best/business, because pricing an MSME card against a personal wallet answers a question nobody asked (ADR 0012).
How up to date is this list?
The records behind this board — the card records this ranks and the grocery rules on our fine-print desk — carry re-verification dates from 1 Jun 2026 to 25 Sept 2026; the board is recomputed from them on every build. Nothing on this page is typed by hand: the podium, the table and the numbers in this answer are all recomputed from those records every time the site builds, so a devaluation moves the ranking the day we log it.
Which grocery credit cards in India have no annual fee?
31 of the 213 ranked here are lifetime free. The best on ₹/yr at ₹15,000/mo of groceries is Scapia (Federal Bank) at ₹3,600. This board's call, Swiggy HDFC Bank Credit Card, costs ₹500/yr and reaches ₹18,000 — that gap is what the fee buys.

Where this comes from
Treatments are read from issuer T&C, reward annexures and FAQs (HSBC and SBI publish full MCC tables; HDFC and Amex publish only category names), corroborated by community reporting where the banks stay vague — those rows say so. Where sources conflict we keep the conservative treatment. "Rate here" is the card's first-tier earn × this category's treatment × our house ₹/point from the valuation index — the same number the wallet winner puts on a swipe. A capped card shows its rate before the cap bites; the rule text names the cap. Issuers churn these rules quarterly — a note's date is the rule's date, not ours.
