What it's worth to you, after the fee
Welcome: A ₹250 gift voucher on your first transaction within 37 days of card issuance
Priced on the everyday mix — 30% groceries · 10% utilities · 20% travel · 6% fuel · 34% everything else — with this card's published category rules applied. Plus milestones, minus the fee. No accelerator credit — and a business card's accelerator is usually the point. This card is not on the board, which ranks personal cards only; it is ranked against other business cards on /best/business, where the tax, GST and vendor-payment rungs ARE credited and its ₹ reads higher.

Breaks even only by erasing its fee at ₹9,000 a month
At ₹9,000 a month — ₹1,08,000 a year — on the everyday mix this card returns ₹200 gross (earn ₹200) against a fee of ₹0 — the ₹500 is waived, the spend having cleared ₹1,00,000 a year = ₹200 net — the first rung at or above ₹0. The ladder runs in ₹1,000 steps to ₹1,00,000 a month and ₹10,000 steps to ₹5,00,000; figures are rounded to the hundred, and the accelerator is never credited.
2 notes on the card itself: how it is issued · why it ranks #315
Why #315 Nothing to take out and ₹500 a year to keep, on HDFC's own two documents — and a 2X leg on fuel and bill payments that only switches on above ₹10,000 of spend in a cycle and dies at 500 CashPoints. A working micro-business card, not a rewards card.
HDFC prints the number itself on this card's value chart — "Value of 1 CashPoint = ₹0.20" — rather than the ₹1.00 CashPoints house value, and our reward rate already prices that in. HDFC publishes no redemption ladder for this card, so the ₹0.20 is the only exit rate on the record.
The take
This is a small-business working card, and it should be judged on cost of credit rather than on rewards. The headline that matters is the interest rate: 1.5% a month, an 18% APR, against the 3.49% a month — nearly 42% a year — that HDFC charges across most of its consumer range. For a micro-enterprise that revolves a balance between customer payments, that difference dwarfs anything the reward table can do. The rewards themselves are modest and honestly stated. Two CashPoints per ₹200 on ordinary spends, doubled on fuel and bill payments — but the 2X only switches on once ₹10,000 of spend is reached in a billing cycle, and then dies at 500 CashPoints for that cycle, so the accelerated leg is worth about ₹1,200 a year at full stretch. A CashPoint on this card is ₹0.20, which HDFC prints on its own value chart, so the ordinary rate is 0.2% and the accelerated one 0.4%. Rent, wallet loads, education and EMI earn nothing. The fee position is the best part and it takes two documents to see: HDFC's product page says "No Joining fee", and the bank's August 2026 Key Fact Statement prices the card in its ₹500 band with a ₹1 lakh annual waiver — so nothing to take it out, ₹500 a year to keep it, reversed by ₹1,00,000 of spend. Those two documents do not perfectly agree, and we have written down the reading that favours neither: the joining line is the one the product page states, the renewal figure is the one the KFS states. Cash withdrawal is disabled on this card entirely, which the MITC states outright. No lounge, no transfer partner, nothing that reaches an airport.
Your renewal — keep, downgrade or cancel
This card reaches break-even by ERASING its fee, not by out-earning it: the waiver is the decision.
Keep, downgrade or cancel
₹500/yr at stake · 5 spend bands
The charge ₹0 joining, then ₹500/yr
The waiver ₹1,00,000 of spend in the year before renewal — about ₹8,333 a month — and the renewal fee is not charged.
Break-even ₹9,000 a month — ₹1,08,000 a year — is where this card's value crosses its fee, and it gets there by erasing the fee at the waiver rather than out-earning it.
At your spend
₹600 a year, net of the fee, at ₹3,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged
₹1,200 a year, net of the fee, at ₹6,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged
₹2,400 a year, net of the fee, at ₹12,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged
₹7,200 a year, net of the fee, at ₹36,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged
₹12,000 a year, net of the fee, at ₹60,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged
Everyday earn plus milestones, minus the fee — the same model as the value panel above, so the two cannot disagree. run your exact spend →

The downgrade
HDFC Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and the numbers above are the whole of it.

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →
The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.
What's good
- 1.5% a month — an 18% APR, less than half HDFC's usual 3.49% monthly rate
- No joining fee, on HDFC's own value chart
- 2X CashPoints on fuel and bill payments once ₹10,000 of spend is reached in a cycle
- ₹250 welcome voucher on your first transaction within 37 days
- ₹500 renewal fee waived at ₹1,00,000 of annual spend, per the August 2026 Key Fact Statement
- Up to 55 days of interest-free credit, plus access to a business insurance package
- Applications accepted on a Udyam registration number, GST returns or an ITR
Watch out
- The 2X leg needs ₹10,000 of spend in the billing cycle before it switches on, and then caps at 500 CashPoints
- A CashPoint here is ₹0.20, so the real rates are 0.2% ordinary and 0.4% accelerated
- Rent, wallet loads, education and EMI earn nothing
- HDFC's own two documents disagree on the fee: the product page says 'No Joining fee' while the Key Fact Statement prices the card in its ₹500 band — we read that as ₹0 to get and ₹500 to keep
- Cash withdrawal is not allowed on this card at all — the MITC says so explicitly
- HDFC serves no fees-and-charges page for this card, so the full schedule of charges is only in the portfolio-wide MITC
- No lounge access, no transfer partner, no airline or hotel programme
What these points actually fly
No live transfer route takes HDFC Bank CashPoints into a programme that publishes an award chart. These points buy catalogue and portal redemptions, not award seats — so this page has no flight to show you, and will not invent one.

Does your spend count toward the fee waiver?
not published — and we say which
₹1,00,000 a year is the bar that waives the ₹500 fee. A different question from the one above — earning points and counting toward a threshold are separate rules, and issuers write them separately.
Not published. HDFC Bank states what the HDFC Bank Micro Enterprise Business earns, but has not published which spend categories count toward the fee waiver — the ₹1,00,000 bar. We won't guess it from the earn table or from a sibling card: Axis published three cards' rules on one day and all three lists differed. If you hold this card and have it in writing from the issuer, send us the document and we'll source it.

Self-employed Indian citizens aged 21 to 65 with an annual ITR above ₹6 lakh. What makes this card unusual on HDFC's shelf is the document list: an Income Tax Return, GST returns OR a Udyam registration number will do — the last of which is the government's micro-enterprise registration, and is the route in for a business too small to have much of a filing history.

The fine print
7 of 7 MITC rows published
What the MITC actually says — the rates, fees and cutoffs the brochure skips.
Membership fee ₹500 to renew, waived at ₹1,00,000 of spend in the year. The number that matters here is not the fee: the MITC’s interest table gives the Micro Enterprise Card a rate of its own, 1.5% a month against the 3.75% almost every other HDFC card charges and the 1.99% floor Infinia sits on — a card priced at ₹500 revolving cheaper than a ₹12,500 one. Fuel surcharge is waived at 1% on transactions from ₹400 to ₹5,000, capped ₹250 a statement cycle. Education-related transactions earn NO reward points, a rule the MITC applies across the Biz range. Shelf-wide charges from the same document: cash processing ₹100 for any payment made over a branch counter or at an ATM, payment return 2% of the payment amount, 1% on online skill-based gaming above ₹10,000 in a calendar month and 1% on wallet loading above ₹10,000 (both from 1-Jul-2025, each capped ₹4,999 a month), and reward points on insurance capped at 2,000 a month.

- 1 Sept 2026SmartBuy moves Amazon Pay gift cards to 1X under Insta DealsAmazon Pay Gift Voucher sat in SmartBuy's accelerated tier — 'up to 5X Reward Points or 5% cashback' → 'Insta Deals: 1 % Instant Discount + 1X Reward Points' — this brand is out of the accelerated tier
The most-farmed HDFC voucher route stopped being a points play. SmartBuy's own voucher storefront now shows the Amazon Pay Gift Voucher under a new "Insta Deals" tile reading "1 % Instant Discount + 1X Reward Points", and the page's own description flipped from "up to 5X Reward Points or 5% cashback" to "up to 1X". The comparison that settles it sits on the same storefront: the Amazon Fresh voucher still carries an "Accelerated Rewards — Upto 5X Reward Points RPs / 5% Cashback" block that the Amazon Pay page no longer has, so this is one brand leaving the accelerated tier, not the tier closing. The date, honestly: the Insta Deals offer ("Flat 1% OFF", ₹10,000 monthly limit) was already live in the page's own data on 31 August 2026, the reward line still read 5X in the 1 September 16:26 UTC archive capture, and read 1X when this desk fetched the page on 2 September — so 1 September is the community's effective date sitting inside a window we can bracket from primary captures, not a figure HDFC published. The bank has announced nothing and no SmartBuy page carries a notice. Two pieces of context for the size of it: brand vouchers were already sub-capped at 3,000 accelerated points a month from 1 July 2026, and Amazon Pay vouchers disappeared from the portal entirely for stretches of July and August before returning in this shape. Flipkart and Amazon Fresh vouchers still pay the accelerated rate; the ₹10,000-a-month Amazon Pay lane now pays base earn plus the 1% instant discount.
