What it's worth to you, after the fee
Welcome: None published — Utkarsh states no welcome benefit for this card
Priced on the everyday mix — 30% groceries · 10% utilities · 20% travel · 6% fuel · 34% everything else — with this card's published category rules applied. Plus milestones, minus the fee. No accelerator credit — the ranking model on /compare adds ~20% of spend at the card's best accelerator, so its ₹ for this card reads higher.

Pays from the first rupee
At ₹1,000 a month — ₹12,000 a year — on the everyday mix this card returns ₹100 gross (earn ₹100) against its ₹0 fee = ₹100 net — at or above ₹0 from the first rung we price. The ladder runs in ₹1,000 steps to ₹1,00,000 a month and ₹10,000 steps to ₹5,00,000; figures are rounded to the hundred, and the accelerator is never credited.
2 notes on the card itself: how it is issued · why it ranks #277
Why #277 Lifetime free, FD-backed, and 1% on UPI as well as card spend — a genuinely useful shape for a first card. It ranks here because the earn is 1% flat with no travel benefit of any kind, and because the cashback has to be redeemed inside super.money rather than landing on the statement by itself.
The unit is the rupee, but this card is the one Utkarsh variant where it is not automatic. The superCard MITC defines cashback as "money available for redemption into the cardholder's account under the superRewards Program", available only "once the same has been settled by the merchant with the Bank, and an additional hold period of up to 30 days from the date of settlement", and redeemed by a "Swipe to Redeem" action in the super.money app. It is rupees at par — ₹1.00 floor, value and ceiling — with a redemption step and a 365-day inactivity lapse in front of it.
The take
This is the Utkarsh issue of super.money's superCard — the same product Flipkart's UPI app distributes through several banks, and Kotak issues its own version of. It is lifetime free in the strict sense: the Key Fact Statement prints "Joining Fee / Annual Fee — Nil", and the only ₹249 anywhere near it is an optional charge for ordering physical plastic on a card that is virtual-first, itself waivable by holding the eligible fixed deposit. It is FD-backed, opened from inside the app from age 18, and the credit limit tracks the deposit you place — which still earns you interest, so the cost of the limit is close to nothing. The earn is 1% on everything, UPI and card alike, which is the interesting part: a credit card that pays 1% when you scan a QR is still uncommon in India, and the UPI leg is capped at ₹500 of cashback a statement month, so it runs out at ₹50,000 of UPI spend. The non-UPI cap is ₹10,000 a month and will never bind. Two frictions the marketing does not lead with. The cashback is not automatic: unlike the rest of the Utkarsh shelf, whose MITC adjusts it against the next statement, this one holds it as "money available for redemption" for up to 30 days after the merchant settles, requires a "Swipe to Redeem" action in super.money, and lapses entirely if the card goes unused for 365 days. And the product page still advertises a campaign that has expired — see below. On the fees, the forex is 3.5% and not the 3% the rest of the Utkarsh shelf charges, so this is not the Utkarsh card to take abroad; interest rises to 3.5% a month from 21 June 2026; and there is no lounge access, no welcome benefit and no milestone. As a free, deposit-backed first card that pays on UPI, it does its job.

The downgrade
Utkarsh Small Finance Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and the numbers above are the whole of it.

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →
The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.
What's good
- Lifetime free — the Key Fact Statement prints 'Joining Fee / Annual Fee — Nil'
- 1% cashback on ALL spends, UPI and non-UPI alike, since 11 August 2025
- FD-backed and opened entirely inside the super.money app from age 18, with the deposit still earning interest
- The credit limit moves with the deposit — add to it or withdraw from it in the app, subject to a 7-day lock-in
- The physical card is optional: ₹249 plus taxes, or free by holding the eligible fixed deposit
- Domestic cash advance is 5% or just ₹25, whichever is higher — the cheapest floor on the Utkarsh shelf
Watch out
- The 5% Myntra / 2% Flipkart 'Preferred Merchants' campaign the product page still advertises was valid only 'till 30th June 2026' per the card's own MITC, and the 3% Cleartrip leg was 'discontinued post 31st December 2025' — no extension has been published, so this card is modelled at 1% flat
- UPI cashback is capped at ₹500 a statement month and is conditional on the transaction going through the super.money app — another UPI app earns nothing
- Cashback is NOT credited automatically: it is held for up to 30 days after merchant settlement, must be redeemed by a 'Swipe to Redeem' action in super.money, and lapses entirely if the card is unused for 365 days
- Forex is 3.5%, against the 3% every other Utkarsh credit card charges
- Interest rises from 3% to 3.5% a month — 42% a year — effective 21 June 2026
- No cashback at all on government, agriculture, rent, wallet and gift-card loads, gold, insurance, post office, transit, utilities, education, fuel, cash advances or any EMI conversion, and none on a transaction below ₹100
- Late payment is 10% of the outstanding, capped at ₹1,250, once the credit limit is ₹2,000 or above
- Withdrawing the whole deposit deactivates the card, and repayment is only possible through the super.money app
- No lounge access, no welcome benefit and no milestone of any kind
What these points actually fly
No live transfer route takes Statement cashback (₹) into a programme that publishes an award chart. These points buy catalogue and portal redemptions, not award seats — so this page has no flight to show you, and will not invent one.

Direct application — no invite list, no banking relationship required.
Open, but only through Flipkart's super.money app — Utkarsh's own instruction is "Visit Supermoney app & apply for superCard, it's a do it yourself journey", and there is no branch or web funnel. The card is secured against a fixed deposit and issued from age 18 with a valid PAN, mobile number and email; the co-brand partner named in the Key Fact Statement is Scapic Innovations Private Limited, trading as Super.Money. An active virtual card arrives within minutes of onboarding and the PIN and UPI setup both happen in the app; physical plastic is a separate ₹249 request, or free if you hold the eligible deposit, and takes 7 to 10 working days. The credit limit is the deposit, adjustable up by adding deposits and down by withdrawing them after a 7-day lock-in — withdrawing all of it deactivates the card. Statements can be dated the 1st, 10th, 20th or 25th, and repayment runs through super.money only.

The fine print
6 of 7 MITC rows published
What the MITC actually says — the rates, fees and cutoffs the brochure skips.
LIFETIME FREE, and the ₹249 is NOT a joining fee. The KFS prints "Joining Fee / Annual Fee — Nil" as one line and the product page prints both as Nil rows; the ₹249 is a separate "Physical Card Fee" for ordering plastic on a virtual-first card, waivable by holding the eligible fixed deposit — an optional issuance charge, so the card carries `annualFee: 0` and no `joiningFee`. FOREX IS 3.5%, NOT 3%: every other Utkarsh credit card's KFS says 3%, and this one says "Forex Mark-up Fee — 3.5% of transaction amount" in both the KFS and the MITC, so this card does NOT clear India's 3.5% norm. Distributed by Flipkart's super.money app (co-brand partner Scapic Innovations Private Limited); Kotak issues a separate variant of the same product. Earn per the superCard MITC "Applicable from 11th August 2025": 1% on all spends UPI and non-UPI, UPI capped ₹500 a statement month and conditional on the transaction going through super.money, non-UPI capped ₹10,000 a statement month, minimum ₹100 a transaction. THE LAPSED CAMPAIGN: the product page still advertises "5%& 2% Cashback on non-upi spends on Myntra & Flipkart Respectively", but the MITC says that Preferred-Merchants campaign "is valid till 30th June 2026" with any extension to be communicated in-app, and that the 3% Cleartrip leg "is discontinued post 31st December 2025". No extension is published, so it is not carried as live earn. No lounge access, no welcome benefit, no milestone. Repayment is through super.money only, and withdrawing the whole deposit deactivates the card. Utkarsh publishes no over-limit fee for this card.
