What it's worth to you, after the fee
Welcome: 1,000 Reward Points on paying the fee and spending ₹2,000 within 30 days of issuance — first-year-free cards get nothing
Priced on the everyday mix — 30% groceries · 10% utilities · 20% travel · 6% fuel · 34% everything else — with this card's published category rules applied: it earns nothing on fuel here, so that spend is dropped, not paid at the headline, and stops pacing milestones and the waiver. Plus milestones, minus the fee. No accelerator credit — the ranking model on /compare adds ~20% of spend at the card's best accelerator, so its ₹ for this card reads higher.

Pays for itself at ₹71,000 a month
At ₹71,000 a month — ₹8,52,000 a year — on the everyday mix this card returns ₹500 gross (earn ₹500) against its ₹499 fee = ₹0 net — the first rung at or above ₹0. The ladder runs in ₹1,000 steps to ₹1,00,000 a month and ₹10,000 steps to ₹5,00,000; figures are rounded to the hundred, and the accelerator is never credited.
1 notes on the card itself: how it is issued
The take
EasySaver is MyFirst's cheaper twin: identical reward table, identical exclusions, half the fee and half the welcome bonus. You earn 1 Reward Point per ₹400 on ordinary spend — a quarter of a point per ₹100, or 0.06% at RBL's own valuation — and 8 points per ₹400 on education and on bill payments, which works out to 0.5%. The welcome is 1,000 points against MyFirst's 2,000, and the fee is ₹499 against ₹999. RBL totals the card at ₹1,513 a year and ₹1,200 of that is the fuel-surcharge waiver, so on the rewards alone you are earning about ₹313 for a fee that never waives. If you are choosing between the two RBL cards, this is the one; if you are choosing between this and the market, almost anything free beats it.

The downgrade
RBL Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and the numbers above are the whole of it.

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →
The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.
What's good
- 8 Reward Points per ₹400 on education spends
- 8 Reward Points per ₹400 on bill payments
- ₹499 — half of what MyFirst charges for the identical reward table
- Fuel-surcharge waiver up to ₹100 a month on fills of ₹500–₹4,000
Watch out
- The ₹499 fee NEVER waives — neither RBL fee document gives this row a reversal clause
- Base earn is 1 point per ₹400 — 0.06% at RBL's own point value
- The welcome bonus is 1,000 points, half of MyFirst's, for otherwise identical terms
- Fuel, auto, quasi-cash, railways, rent, insurance, government, wallet, cash and EMI earn nothing
- ₹99 + GST reward-redemption fee, charged once per day you redeem
- RBL charges 1% on FIVE transaction types its Schedule of Charges lists separately from the reward exclusions: rent (MCC 6513, on every transaction), fuel and auto above ₹10,000 a transaction (capped at ₹3,000), utility spends above ₹50,000 a month, education paid through third-party apps such as CRED, PhonePe or Paytm (school and college websites are exempt), and — with effect from 7 January 2026 — FASTag loading and tolls above ₹10,000 a transaction. These are FEES, listed nowhere near the reward exclusions: a category can both cost you 1% and earn you nothing

What earns, what doesn't
14 sourced rules · 6 pay zero
READ THE UTILITIES ROW. EasySaver is sold on exactly two accelerators — "8 Reward Points for every INR 400 spends on Education" and "8 Reward Points for every INR 400 spends on Bill Payment", each priced in RBL's own value table — and its 15-Oct-2024 footnote strikes out "Bills2pay", RBL's own bill-payment rail inside MyBank and internet banking. The card's headline benefit and the excluded rail are the same act. Separately, EasySaver's exclusion footnotes are SHORTER than the rest of RBL's shelf: the 13-Nov-2023 wave names only Insurance, Rent Payments and Wallet Load — Education and Utilities, which every Platinum card lists, are named in NEITHER wave here.
- Fuel · excluded Zero RP since 15-Oct-2024 — "Fuel & Auto" (MCC 0032, 2541, 4001, 5542, 5541, 5172); the ₹100-a-month fuel surcharge waiver on ₹500–₹4,000 fills is the only fuel benefit
- Rent & property management · excluded Zero RP — Rent Payments from 13-Nov-2023, "Real Estate" (MCC 6513) restated 15-Oct-2024; 1% fee on every rental transaction bank-wide (MITC)
- Wallet loads · excluded Zero RP since 13-Nov-2023 — "Wallet Load" / "Service Providers" (MCC 6540)
- Utilities (electricity/water/gas) · accelerated CONTRADICTED ON THE ISSUER'S OWN PAGE. The benefit table promises 8 RP per ₹400 (2 RP/₹100) on Bill Payment; the 15-Oct-2024 footnote on the same page says transactions on "Bills2pay" are not eligible — Bills2Pay being RBL's own bill-payment facility in the MyBank app and internet banking, keyed on transaction codes 71 and 72. Utilities (MCC 4900) itself is named in neither footnote, so a utility bill paid at the biller rather than through Bills2Pay may well earn. Every value surface here credits the card's base rate rather than the headline, and RBL charges a 1% fee on utility spend past ₹50,000 a month regardless (MITC)

- 23 Sept 2026Axis EDGE brings Accor back, drops ITC, and adds Cathay, Miles & More and HiltonAccor and Marriott off the grid since 2 April 2026; Club ITC live; no Cathay, Miles & More or Hilton → Accor live at the punished rates; ITC removed; Cathay, Hilton and Miles & More live; Marriott still gone
Axis's own Travel EDGE terms, re-read 25 September 2026, already show the grid that went live on 23 September. Accor ALL is back, and not at the old Atlas 1:2: EDGE Miles convert at 2:1 (Olympus 1:2) and EDGE Rewards at 5:1, with Magnus for Burgundy at 5:2 and only Burgundy Private still at 5:4. Club ITC is off the table. Three partners are new. Cathay Asia Miles sits on that same punished grid. Hilton Honors is the ordinary one: EDGE Miles 1:2, EDGE Rewards 5:2, Burgundy 5:4. Lufthansa Miles & More is the exception on Atlas, which converts 1:1 there while every other standard airline on that card is 1:2; the EDGE Rewards side of Miles & More is the ordinary 5:2. Marriott stays removed. Qatar Privilege Club was already back. Flying Blue, Air India and Qantas moved into Group A, which is the capped group. The Axis Rewards credit card's Amex network is advertised as joining-fee and annual-fee nil for a limited period; there is no separate Amex variant on this board, so that offer is not modelled as a fee change.
