What it's worth to you, after the fee
Welcome: Not published — Axis lists no welcome or activation benefit for this card on the product page or in its cashback Terms & Conditions
Priced on the everyday mix — 30% groceries · 10% utilities · 20% travel · 6% fuel · 34% everything else — with this card's published category rules applied: it earns nothing on utilities and fuel here, so that spend is dropped, not paid at the headline, and stops pacing milestones and the waiver. Plus milestones, minus the fee. No accelerator credit — the ranking model on /compare adds ~20% of spend at the card's best accelerator, so its ₹ for this card reads higher.

Pays from the first rupee
At ₹1,000 a month — ₹12,000 a year — on the everyday mix this card returns ₹100 gross (earn ₹100) against its ₹0 fee = ₹100 net — at or above ₹0 from the first rung we price. The ladder runs in ₹1,000 steps to ₹1,00,000 a month and ₹10,000 steps to ₹5,00,000; figures are rounded to the hundred, and the accelerator is never credited.
3 notes on the card itself: how it is issued · the network variants · why it ranks #218
Why #218 Lifetime free, RuPay-on-UPI, and 3% on QR payments through one app — which is a good deal until you read the cap, which is not a rupee figure but a mirror of whatever the rest of your spending earns. No fee means nothing to justify; it is ranked where it is because it has no travel benefit of any kind, not because it costs anything.
The unit is a rupee — Axis's cashback T&C for this card opens by defining it as "money awarded in the customer's credit card account under the cashback scheme", credited three days before the following statement. The 1% leg is explicitly unlimited; the 3% leg is capped at the total cashback earned from everything else in the same cycle, with a ₹100 floor when that other total is under ₹100.
The take
This is a fintech card in bank clothing: Axis issues it, Scapic Innovations runs the super.money app it lives in, and the whole proposition is a RuPay credit card you can scan UPI QR codes with. It costs nothing, ever — Axis prints one fee row, "Joining/annual Fee NIL", and the Key Fact Sheet agrees at INR 0 in both columns. The earn is two lines: 3% on QR transactions done through super.money, 1% on everything else, and the 1% is explicitly unlimited. Now the cap, which is the most interesting sentence on the card and the least advertised: the 3% "is capped at the total cashback earned from other UPI and non-UPI spends in the same statement cycle". Not a rupee ceiling — a mirror. Your 1% on ordinary spending is the budget your 3% draws from, so a card used only for super.money QR payments pays 1% effectively, not 3%, with a ₹100 floor as the one concession. Axis works two examples through it in the T&C and they land at ₹190 and ₹600, both clamped. The exclusion list is long and contains one entry most cards do not have: telecom. Repayments, utilities, fuel, jewellery, cash withdrawal, wallet loads, insurance, education, government, financial institutions, rent and every EMI earn nothing, and so do transactions under ₹100. As a travel card it is nothing: no lounge — it appears on neither Set A nor Set B of Axis's own domestic lounge programme — no points, no partner, 3.5% forex and a 3.5% dynamic-currency markup since 28 August 2026, on a network that is barely accepted abroad anyway. Hold it as a free UPI rail that pays 1%. Anything above that needs you to spend on the card, not just scan with it.

The downgrade
Axis Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and the numbers above are the whole of it.
What has changed under this card
- 23 Sep 2026 Axis EDGE brings Accor back, drops ITC, and adds Cathay, Miles & More and Hilton issuer-wide
- 28 Aug 2026 Axis more than doubles its DCC markup — 3.5% generic, but Olympus and Magnus get their own rates issuer-wide
- 28 Aug 2026 Priority Pass stops opening Indian domestic lounges on every Axis card issuer-wide

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →
The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.
What's good
- Lifetime free — Axis prints a single fee row reading NIL, and the Key Fact Sheet confirms ₹0 in both columns
- 3% cashback on QR payments made through the super.money app
- 1% on everything else, and the terms say unlimited outright
- RuPay, so it links to UPI and pays merchants who take no card at all
- 1% fuel-surcharge waiver on ₹400–₹4,000 transactions, up to ₹400 a statement cycle
Watch out
- The 3% is capped at the total cashback earned from all your OTHER spends in the same cycle — spend only on super.money and the effective rate falls to about 1%
- The ₹100 floor is the only relief: if other cashback is under ₹100 and super.money cashback exceeds it, the super.money leg is capped at ₹100
- Thirteen categories earn nothing, and telecom is one of them — repayments, utilities, fuel, jewellery, cash withdrawal, wallet loads, insurance, education, government, financial institutions, rent, EMI
- Every spend below ₹100 earns zero cashback
- The lifetime-free offer is not open to existing Axis Bank credit-card customers — except Axis Flipkart cardholders, who are the one exception Axis names
- No lounge access — the card is on neither Set A nor Set B of Axis's Domestic Airport Lounge Access Program
- Forex 3.5% plus a dynamic-currency-conversion markup that went 1.5% → 3.5% on 28 Aug 2026, on a RuPay card with thin overseas acceptance
- Since 28 Aug 2026 gift cards, Bridge Fees, Road Fees and Tolls earn no cashback
- Axis's bank-wide terms revision took effect on 28 August 2026 — the schedule above is the revised one
- Rent transactions carry an uncapped 1% fee, and earn nothing
- It pays cashback, so there is no airline or hotel programme behind it — ever
What these points actually fly
No live transfer route takes Axis Bank Cashback into a programme that publishes an award chart. These points buy catalogue and portal redemptions, not award seats — so this page has no flight to show you, and will not invent one.

What earns, what doesn't
12 sourced rules · 10 pay zero
The accelerator here is a PLATFORM, not a category: 3% on QR transactions done through the super.money app, 1% on everything else qualifying. And the 3% is capped at the total cashback earned from every other spend in the same cycle — a mirror rather than a rupee ceiling — with a ₹100 floor. Fourteen merchant categories earn nothing, and telecom is one of them, which is unusual.
- Fuel · excluded Fuel earns nothing. The 1% surcharge waiver survives on ₹400–₹4,000 transactions, posted as 0.989% of the amount, up to ₹400 a statement cycle
- Wallet loads · excluded Wallet load transactions earn nothing
- Rent & property management · excluded Rental payments earn nothing and carry an uncapped 1% transaction fee
- Utilities (electricity/water/gas) · excluded "Utility Services" earn nothing

Applied for through the super.money app rather than the bank, and Axis publishes a pointed restriction on who may have it: "For existing Axis Bank customers, AXIS BANK SUPERMONEY RuPay credit card is available only to Axis Bank Flipkart Credit card customers." So if you already hold an Axis credit card that is not the Flipkart one, this is not open to you. The bank also states elsewhere on the page that the lifetime-free offer is not valid for existing Axis Bank credit-card customers, which is the same fence from the other side. It is a co-brand: "issued by Axis Bank in Partnership with Scapic Innovations Private Limited (operating under the brand name super.money)". A note on the terms-update banner: the desk previously recorded an Axis update "effective 1 January 2026", which that date has long since overtaken. The LIVE notice is the bank-wide revision that took effect on 28 August 2026, cited below — the dynamic-currency-conversion markup up from 1.5% to 3.5%, a ₹1,300 late-payment slab above ₹50,000, and gift cards, Bridge Fees, Road Fees and Tolls dropped out of rewards. The rates above are the post-revision ones.
Axis Bank publishes no income or age cutoffs for this card. Blank means blank — we don't invent numbers to fill a grid.

The fine print
6 of 7 MITC rows published
What the MITC actually says — the rates, fees and cutoffs the brochure skips.
Lifetime free and sourced three times over: the fee table has one row reading "Joining/annual Fee NIL", the 12-Aug-2026 Key Fact Sheet prints INR 0 in both columns, and the cashback T&C says "Joining/Annual Fee- Nil (Lifetime Free Credit Card)". A REAL zero, not our no-guess rule's unsourced null. EARN: 3% on QR transactions done through the super.money platform and 1% on all other qualifying spends, the 1% explicitly "Unlimited". THE 3% CAP IS A MIRROR, NOT A CONSTANT: "3% Cashback on eligible UPI purchases via the super.money app is capped at the total cashback earned from other UPI and non-UPI spends in the same statement cycle. If cashback from other UPI … is under INR 100, and cashback from super.money UPI purchases exceeds INR 100, then cashback on super.money UPI purchases will be capped at INR 100." Two worked scenarios in the T&C both clamp. Fourteen merchant categories earn nothing — repayments, utility services, fuel, jewellery/watches/silverware, cash withdrawal, wallet loads, insurance, education, government services, financial institutions, rental, EMI, post-facto EMI conversions and TELECOM — and every spend below ₹100 earns zero. Rent carries an uncapped 1% fee. Fuel surcharge waiver 1% (posted as 0.989% of the transaction), ₹400–₹4,000 only, max ₹400 a cycle. DISTRIBUTION: issued "by Axis Bank in Partnership with Scapic Innovations Private Limited (operating under the brand name super.money)", applied for in the app, and "For existing Axis Bank customers … available only to Axis Bank Flipkart Credit card customers." NO LOUNGE — the string SUPERMONEY does not occur in Axis's Domestic Airport Lounge Access Program, so the RuPay-side quotas other issuers offer do not apply here. Terms update flagged for 1 Jan 2026.

- 15 Nov 2026The Reserve's memberships stop renewing unless you say yesClub ITC Culinaire, Accorplus, handcrafted Club Marriott Asia Pacific, EazyDiner Prime and Priority Pass renewed automatically each year for as long as the card was open → From 15 Nov 2026 complimentary memberships linked to the card renew only with the cardholder's explicit consent — Axis says renewal and consent details will be shared closer to each renewal date. The same notice flips Priority Pass off at Indian domestic lounges from 28 Aug 2026 (present the Reserve card itself) and adds a ₹1,300 late-payment slab above ₹50,000 outstanding
The Reserve's whole defence of a ₹50,000 fee is the membership stack — Club ITC Culinaire with its free third night, Accorplus, handcrafted Club Marriott Asia Pacific, EazyDiner Prime, and the unlimited Priority Pass. Axis's own Reserve revision notice says that from 15 November none of them renew unless you actively consent. Framed as a choice, it works as breakage: the failure mode of an opt-in is silence, and a cardholder who misses the renewal email keeps paying ₹50,000 for a card whose benefits have quietly lapsed. Reserve is on the same list as Select, Magnus, Magnus for Burgundy, Burgundy Private, Olympus and both Miles & More cards, so this is the whole Axis premium book learning the same trick. Two other things ride the notice: from 28 August the Priority Pass card stops opening Indian domestic lounges — you present the Reserve itself against Axis's own eligible-lounge list, and post-immigration lounges at Indian international terminals still count as international — and a fifth late-payment slab of ₹1,300 appears above ₹50,000 outstanding. Notably, the Reserve notice carries no dynamic-currency-conversion line at all while the bank-wide grid goes 1.5% → 3.5%, and the card's 1.5% foreign transaction fee is untouched.

- 23 Sept 2026Axis EDGE brings Accor back, drops ITC, and adds Cathay, Miles & More and HiltonAccor and Marriott off the grid since 2 April 2026; Club ITC live; no Cathay, Miles & More or Hilton → Accor live at the punished rates; ITC removed; Cathay, Hilton and Miles & More live; Marriott still gone
Axis's own Travel EDGE terms, re-read 25 September 2026, already show the grid that went live on 23 September. Accor ALL is back, and not at the old Atlas 1:2: EDGE Miles convert at 2:1 (Olympus 1:2) and EDGE Rewards at 5:1, with Magnus for Burgundy at 5:2 and only Burgundy Private still at 5:4. Club ITC is off the table. Three partners are new. Cathay Asia Miles sits on that same punished grid. Hilton Honors is the ordinary one: EDGE Miles 1:2, EDGE Rewards 5:2, Burgundy 5:4. Lufthansa Miles & More is the exception on Atlas, which converts 1:1 there while every other standard airline on that card is 1:2; the EDGE Rewards side of Miles & More is the ordinary 5:2. Marriott stays removed. Qatar Privilege Club was already back. Flying Blue, Air India and Qantas moved into Group A, which is the capped group. The Axis Rewards credit card's Amex network is advertised as joining-fee and annual-fee nil for a limited period; there is no separate Amex variant on this board, so that offer is not modelled as a fee change.
