Priced on the everyday mix — 30% groceries · 10% utilities · 20% travel · 6% fuel · 34% everything else — with this card's published category rules applied. Plus milestones, minus the fee. No accelerator credit — the ranking model on /compare adds ~20% of spend at the card's best accelerator, so its ₹ for this card reads higher.

Pays from the first rupee

At ₹1,000 a month — ₹12,000 a year — on the everyday mix this card returns ₹100 gross (earn ₹100) against its ₹0 fee = ₹100 net — at or above ₹0 from the first rung we price. The ladder runs in ₹1,000 steps to ₹1,00,000 a month and ₹10,000 steps to ₹5,00,000; figures are rounded to the hundred, and the accelerator is never credited.

RuPay — UPI-linkable — and the UPI linkage is what the virtual card is for

Why #321 The lifetime-free RuPay twin — the same 6% on dining and travel, the same ₹36,000 ceiling, and the same wall at the end of it. It pays in rupees, transfers to nothing and opens no lounge door. Strong on a cashback spreadsheet, and held below cards that earn less but reach an airline.

The take

This is the RuPay virtual sibling of YES's PaisaSave card, and the swap is a fair one: you give up the plastic and gain a card that costs nothing, ever. The MITC prints NIL in both fee columns and the page says "Zero Joining Fees / No Annual Membership Fee", so there is no spend threshold to chase and nothing to waive. The earn grid is the Mastercard twin's — 12 reward points per ₹200 on dining and travel, 2 per ₹200 on everything else, and YES prices a point at ₹1 redeemable as statement credit with no fee. Read one word in footnote (a) before you rely on it, though: the 6% rung on this variant applies "except UPI transactions". A RuPay card exists to be linked to a UPI app, so the obvious way to use it is precisely the way that drops you to 1%. Pay the restaurant on the card and take 6%; scan its QR and take 1%. Rewards cap at 3,000 points a statement cycle either way, and the exclusion list — utilities, fuel, rent, insurance, education, jewellery, government, pharmacies, tolls, railways — is long. As a free second card behind a QR code it is hard to argue with; as your main card it is a 1% card with a rule you have to remember.

The downgrade

YES Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and the numbers above are the whole of it.

What has changed under this card

  • 15 Jun 2026 YES's ₹100 redemption fee reaches Marquee and Reserv issuer-wide
  • 15 Jun 2026 YES Bank raises forex on almost every card it sells — SELECT takes 75 basis points in one step issuer-wide
  • 1 Apr 2025 YES lounge gate triples to ₹1 lakh on Marquee and Reserv issuer-wide

If you call to cancel

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →

The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.

What's good

  • Lifetime free — the MITC prints NIL in both fee columns and the page says the same in words
  • 6% back on dining and travel paid on the card: 12 reward points per ₹200, priced at ₹1 a point
  • Points redeem as statement credit on YESRewardz with no redemption charge
  • RuPay, so it links to any UPI app

Watch out

  • The 6% dining-and-travel rung explicitly excludes UPI transactions — the card's own headline use case earns 1%
  • Rewards cap at 3,000 points a statement cycle: ₹36,000 a year is the ceiling on everything
  • Utility, insurance, fuel, rent, wallet, education, jewellery, government, hospital, pharmacy, toll and railway spend earns nothing
  • Foreign currency markup is 3.50% since 15-Jun-2026 plus 1% dynamic currency conversion
  • No lounge access — absent from the MITC's lounge threshold table

What these points actually fly

No live transfer route takes Statement cashback (₹) into a programme that publishes an award chart. These points buy catalogue and portal redemptions, not award seats — so this page has no flight to show you, and will not invent one.

The fine print

7 of 7 MITC rows published

What the MITC actually says — the rates, fees and cutoffs the brochure skips.

Forex markup 3.50% + GST w.e.f. 15-Jun-2026 (3.40% before that revision), plus a separate 1% DCC markup on INR-billed foreign transactions
APR 3.99%/mo (47.88%/yr) on revolving credit, cash advances and overdue amounts — the MITC's “Other Credit Cards” tier
Late fee Nil while the current outstanding (statement balance plus unbilled) is ₹500 or less; above that, 10% of the statement balance or ₹1,350, whichever is LOWER, per statement
Cash advance Not applicable — the MITC exempts every Virtual Credit Card from the cash-advance fee
Add-on card Nil
Overlimit ₹550 + GST flat on any transaction that exceeds the assigned limit; the overlimit facility was reintroduced 1-Jun-2026 and is granted on the bank’s own risk view
Redemption fee Waived — the MITC names Paisabazaar Paisasave beside YES Private as exempt from the ₹100 + GST redemption fee

Lifetime free where its plastic sibling is not: “Paisabazaar Paisasave RuPay Virtual” is named in the membership-fee grid’s NIL joining / NIL annual row, while plain Paisasave renews at ₹499. Both are named in the forex bracket that went 3.40% to 3.50% on 15-Jun-2026. Being virtual exempts it from the cash-advance fee and from the re-issuance charge. Utility spends attract 1% + GST past ₹25,000 in the previous calendar month. Absent from the domestic-lounge threshold table.

YES's ₹100 redemption fee reaches Marquee and Reserv
Marquee and Reserv exempt from the ₹100-per-redemption fee; card reissuance ₹100–₹200 by variant → ₹100 fee on every redemption request, premium cards included, plus a ₹99 booking fee on YES Rewardz flights; reissuance ₹199; fuel-surcharge waiver window revised

The exemption that let Marquee and Reserv holders pretend the ₹100 redemption fee was someone else's problem is gone. From 15 June 2026 every YES card pays ₹100 per redemption request, and booking a flight through YES Rewardz — the only place the points are worth their ₹0.25 — stacks a ₹99 booking fee on top. On a card whose whole pitch is settling 4.5% online earnings in portal travel, YES now charges you twice at the exit.
