What it's worth to you, after the fee
Priced on the everyday mix — 30% groceries · 10% utilities · 20% travel · 6% fuel · 34% everything else — with this card's published category rules applied. Plus milestones, minus the fee. No accelerator credit — the ranking model on /compare adds ~20% of spend at the card's best accelerator, so its ₹ for this card reads higher.

Breaks even only by erasing its fee at ₹25,000 a month
At ₹25,000 a month — ₹3,00,000 a year — on the everyday mix this card returns ₹1,500 gross (earn ₹1,500) against a fee of ₹0 — the ₹2,000 is waived, the spend having cleared ₹3,00,000 a year = ₹1,500 net — the first rung at or above ₹0. The ladder runs in ₹1,000 steps to ₹1,00,000 a month and ₹10,000 steps to ₹5,00,000; figures are rounded to the hundred, and the accelerator is never credited.

The take
The weakest of PNB's finds and the clearest example of "clears gate 1 honestly and nothing else": PNB's own product page for Visa Signature names exactly four benefits — 50% off BookMyShow monthly, a "Complimentary Domestic Lounge" (no international leg claimed, and no visit count given for the domestic one either), 24/7 concierge, and daily merchant offers. What that page does NOT say is that this is the best-earning card on PNB's standard shelf: the bank's Rewardz programme page gives Visa Signature 2 points per ₹100 — 0.5% at the ₹0.25 PNB's own MITC assigns a point — against 2 per ₹150 for Visa Platinum and RuPay Select and 1 per ₹100 for RuPay Platinum, Visa Gold and Visa Classic. Half a percent is still half a percent, and it does not buy back a card whose lounge line stops at DOMESTIC while every RuPay card on the same shelf reaches for international. The fee is real: ₹1,500 joining plus ₹2,000 a year, waived only above ₹3 lakh of the PRECEDING financial year's spend — a bar a first-year applicant cannot clear, and the eligibility income floor is ₹7.5 lakh gross annual, higher than most of PNB's RuPay entry cards for a thinner benefit stack. A reader holding one should know exactly what it does and does not do; a reader choosing between PNB cards should look elsewhere on this shelf first.
Your renewal — keep, downgrade or cancel
This card reaches break-even by ERASING its fee, not by out-earning it: the waiver is the decision.
Keep, downgrade or cancel
₹2,000/yr at stake · 5 spend bands
The charge ₹1,500 joining, then ₹2,000/yr
The waiver ₹3,00,000 of spend in the year before renewal — about ₹25,000 a month — and the renewal fee is not charged.
Break-even ₹25,000 a month — ₹3,00,000 a year — is where this card's value crosses its fee, and it gets there by erasing the fee at the waiver rather than out-earning it.
At your spend
₹1,500 a year, net of the fee, at ₹3,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged
₹3,000 a year, net of the fee, at ₹6,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged
₹6,000 a year, net of the fee, at ₹12,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged
₹18,000 a year, net of the fee, at ₹36,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged
₹30,000 a year, net of the fee, at ₹60,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged

The downgrade
Punjab National Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and the numbers above are the whole of it.
If you call to cancel
What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →
The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.
What's good
- 2 Reward Points per ₹100 (0.5% at ₹0.25 a point) — the best rate on PNB's standard shelf
- Complimentary domestic lounge access is claimed on PNB's own product page
- 50% off BookMyShow movie tickets and food combos, once a month
- 24/7 concierge covering flight bookings and hotel reservations
Watch out
- The card's own product page states no earn rate at all — the 2 points per ₹100 comes from PNB's separate Rewardz programme page, keyed by BIN 436428
- Domestic lounge access only — no international leg claimed, and no visit count published for the domestic one either
- ₹1,500 joining + ₹2,000 annual fee, waived only above ₹3L of the PRECEDING year's spend — unreachable for a first-year applicant
- ₹7.5L gross annual income floor is higher than most of PNB's RuPay entry shelf for a thinner benefit stack
- No forex markup published on the card's own page; the bank-wide standard is 3.5%
What these points actually fly
No live transfer route takes PNB Reward Points into a programme that publishes an award chart. These points buy catalogue and portal redemptions, not award seats — so this page has no flight to show you, and will not invent one.

What earns, what doesn't
2 sourced rules · 1 pay zero
PNB publishes NO merchant-category exclusion list for any card on its shelf — not on the product pages, not in the Key Fact Statement, not in the MITC, which mentions merchant categories only to reserve the bank's right to BLOCK a card transacting on restricted MCCs. So this row states the two deviations PNB does document and nothing else; every other category answers "not published" rather than a guess.
- EMI conversions / merchant EMI · excluded No points survive an EMI conversion — PNB's MITC states it bank-wide: "On availing the EMI facility, reward points if any that have been accrued on the original transaction shall be reversed." PNB charges 2% of the transaction (min ₹100 instant / ₹200 Easy Pay) to convert, and 12–18%/yr on the instalments

Does your spend count toward the fee waiver?
not published — and we say which
₹3,00,000 a year is the bar that waives the ₹2,000 fee. A different question from the one above — earning points and counting toward a threshold are separate rules, and issuers write them separately.
Not published. Punjab National Bank states what the PNB Visa Signature earns and does not earn, but has not published which spend categories count toward the fee waiver — the ₹3,00,000 bar. We won't guess it from the earn table or from a sibling card: Axis published three cards' rules on one day and all three lists differed. If you hold this card and have it in writing from the issuer, send us the document and we'll source it.

The fine print
7 of 7 MITC rows published
What the MITC actually says — the rates, fees and cutoffs the brochure skips.
₹1,500 to join and ₹2,000 a year, waived above ₹3 lakh of the preceding year's spend — the steepest waiver bar on PNB's non-metal shelf, and the only PNB card whose joining fee is a different number from its annual fee outside the two LUXURA metals. PNB staff pay half of both. This is the best earn rate on PNB's standard shelf: the Rewardz programme page gives Visa Signature 2 points per ₹100 (0.5% at ₹0.25 a point), against 2 per ₹150 for Visa Platinum and RuPay Select and 1 per ₹100 for RuPay Platinum, Visa Gold and Visa Classic. Credit limit ₹1,25,000–₹15,00,000, or 80% of an FDR of at least ₹1,60,000. Lounge is claimed as "Complimentary Domestic Lounge" with no count, no guest policy and no network — and note it is DOMESTIC only on this card, unlike the RuPay shelf's international claims. Cheque return and card replacement are ₹250 each. Fuel surcharge waiver 1% (min ₹10) on fills above ₹500 and below ₹4,000, with no monthly ceiling stated. The MITC values a point at 25 paise; pnbcard.in/rewards.html still says 50 paise.
