What it's worth to you, after the fee
Priced on the everyday mix — 30% groceries · 10% utilities · 20% travel · 6% fuel · 34% everything else — with this card's published category rules applied. Plus milestones, minus the fee. No accelerator credit — and a business card's accelerator is usually the point. This card is not on the board, which ranks personal cards only; it is ranked against other business cards on /best/business, where the tax, GST and vendor-payment rungs ARE credited and its ₹ reads higher.

Breaks even only by erasing its fee at ₹17,000 a month
At ₹17,000 a month — ₹2,04,000 a year — on the everyday mix this card returns ₹700 gross (earn ₹700) against a fee of ₹0 — the ₹999 is waived, the spend having cleared ₹2,00,000 a year = ₹700 net — the first rung at or above ₹0. The ladder runs in ₹1,000 steps to ₹1,00,000 a month and ₹10,000 steps to ₹5,00,000; figures are rounded to the hundred, and the accelerator is never credited.
3 notes on the card itself: how it is issued · the network variants · why it ranks #249
Why #249 The rate that matters here is 1.67% on tax payments, utility bills, insurance premiums and government payments — the four categories nearly every consumer card in India zeroes out. Ranked on that, capped at 2,500 points a statement cycle, and on a 55-day interest-free window that is four days longer than Kotak's own consumer cards get.
Kotak prices a BizEdge point at ₹0.25 — but only on the Kotak Unbox platform, and only up to 80% of a cart's value, so the last fifth of any redemption is cash. Minimum 500 points a redemption, and the points die 36 months after they are earned.
The take
Kotak sells BizEdge under personal banking to people who run something, and its case rests on one list. "Business essentials" here means tax payments, utility bills, insurance premiums, government payments, fuel, office supplies, telecom services and electronics — and it earns 10 Reward Points per ₹150, which is 1.67% at Kotak's own ₹0.25 Unbox rate. Look at what that list contains. Tax, utilities, insurance and government spends are precisely the categories a consumer card zeroes out or surcharges, and a proprietor pushing advance tax and GST through a card is exactly the reader who can use them. The ceiling is real though: 2,500 points a statement cycle, which is about ₹37,500 of business-essential spend a month, and everything past it drops to 0.33%. The other accelerators are narrower than they look. Flights and hotels earn 5X only when booked through Kotak Unbox, and the Nuclei SaaS leg is switched off entirely on the RuPay variant — so if you took BizEdge for UPI, you did not take it for SaaS. The 55-day interest-free period is four days longer than Kotak's consumer cards and genuinely useful against a receivables cycle. Now the omissions, which are severe and mostly unadvertised: there is no cash advance and no ATM withdrawal at all, no over-limit facility, no fuel-surcharge waiver despite fuel being a 5X category, no railway surcharge waiver, no add-on cards, and — despite what several card aggregators claim — no lounge access whatsoever. Nothing on Kotak's own page for this card mentions a lounge. Note also its Key Fact Statement lives under Kotak's /corporate-cards/ path while the product itself sits in the personal-banking nav, which is a fair signal of what the bank thinks it is selling.
Your renewal — keep, downgrade or cancel
This card reaches break-even by ERASING its fee, not by out-earning it: the waiver is the decision.
Keep, downgrade or cancel
₹999/yr at stake · 5 spend bands
The charge ₹999/yr
The waiver ₹2,00,000 of spend in the year before renewal — about ₹16,667 a month — and the renewal fee is not charged.
Break-even ₹17,000 a month — ₹2,04,000 a year — is where this card's value crosses its fee, and it gets there by erasing the fee at the waiver rather than out-earning it.
At your spend
₹1,000 a year, net of the fee, at ₹3,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged
₹2,000 a year, net of the fee, at ₹6,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged
₹4,000 a year, net of the fee, at ₹12,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged
₹12,000 a year, net of the fee, at ₹36,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged
₹20,000 a year, net of the fee, at ₹60,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged
Everyday earn plus milestones, minus the fee — the same model as the value panel above, so the two cannot disagree. run your exact spend →

The downgrade
Kotak Mahindra Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and the numbers above are the whole of it.

Watch out
- NO lounge access. Kotak's own product page lists none, whatever the aggregators say
- The 1.67% business-essentials leg stops at 2,500 Reward Points a statement cycle — about ₹37,500 of spend — and everything else earns 0.33%
- The joining fee has NO reversal at any spend; only the renewal fee waives, at ₹2 lakh
- No cash advance and no ATM withdrawal at all, and no over-limit facility
- No fuel-surcharge waiver — even though fuel is one of the 5X categories
- No railway-surcharge waiver either; the standard surcharge applies
- The Nuclei SaaS accelerator does not exist on the RuPay variant, and add-on cards are not offered
- EMI transactions, rent, wallets and education earn nothing
- Points redeem at ₹0.25 only on Kotak Unbox, cover at most 80% of a cart, need a 500-point minimum, and expire after 36 months
- Forex is 3.50%, and the minimum amount due is 5% of transactions — five times Kotak's usual 1%
What these points actually fly
No live transfer route takes Kotak Reward Points into a programme that publishes an award chart. These points buy catalogue and portal redemptions, not award seats — so this page has no flight to show you, and will not invent one.

What earns, what doesn't
12 sourced rules · 4 pay zero
The rows below come from Kotak's own footnote defining "business essentials" — "transactions on tax payments, utility bills, insurance premiums, government payments, fuel, office supplies, telecom services, electronic purchases" — and from its short no-earn list, "EMI transactions, and select categories including rent, wallets, and education". This card is unusual and worth reading closely because the four categories most consumer cards zero out (tax, utilities, insurance, government) are its ACCELERATED ones. The accelerated pool caps at 2,500 Reward Points a statement cycle, about ₹37,500 of spend; base is up to 2 points per ₹150. A point is ₹0.25 on Kotak Unbox.
- Rent & property management · excluded Zero Reward Points — rent is on Kotak's published no-earn list for this card
- Wallet loads · excluded Zero Reward Points — wallets are on Kotak's published no-earn list
- Fuel · capped 10 Reward Points per ₹150 — 1.67% at ₹0.25 — because fuel is named in Kotak's own "business essentials" list, sharing the 2,500-point statement-cycle ceiling with tax, utilities, insurance, government, office supplies, telecom and electronics. But there is NO fuel-surcharge waiver on this card, which its fee table states outright as "Fuel Surcharge Waiver — NA", so the 1% surcharge is charged in full on every fill
- Utilities (electricity/water/gas) · capped 10 Reward Points per ₹150 — 1.67% — utility bills are a named business essential, out of the shared 2,500-point cycle pool

Does your spend count toward the fee waiver?
not published — and we say which
₹2,00,000 a year is the bar that waives the ₹999 fee. A different question from the one above — earning points and counting toward a threshold are separate rules, and issuers write them separately.
Not published. Kotak Mahindra Bank states what the Kotak BizEdge Credit Card earns and does not earn, but has not published which spend categories count toward the fee waiver — the ₹2,00,000 bar. We won't guess it from the earn table or from a sibling card: Axis published three cards' rules on one day and all three lists differed. If you hold this card and have it in writing from the issuer, send us the document and we'll source it.

Sold from Kotak's personal-banking card shelf with a live application flow, aimed at business owners and sole proprietors rather than corporates — but its Key Fact Statement is filed under Kotak's /corporate-cards/ path, so treat it as a business product that happens to be sold retail. Kotak publishes no income or turnover floor for it. Budget for the ₹999 joining fee either way: it carries no reversal condition at all, and only the renewal fee waives, at ₹2 lakh of spend inside 12 months.

The fine print

What the MITC actually says — the rates, fees and cutoffs the brochure skips.
Two fee columns, not inverted: joining ₹999 with "Joining Fees Reversal NA" and annual ₹999 "Waived off on spend of ₹2 lakh within 12 month". The joining fee therefore cannot be earned back at any spend. Interest-free period is 55 days, four longer than Kotak's consumer cards. Minimum amount due is 5% of all transactions plus 100% of EMI, finance charges, fees and tax, min ₹100 — five times the 1% Kotak applies elsewhere. Earn: 10 Reward Points per ₹150 on "business essentials", which Kotak defines as tax payments, utility bills, insurance premiums, government payments, fuel, office supplies, telecom services and electronic purchases, capped at 2,500 points a statement cycle; 10 per ₹150 on flights and hotels booked through Kotak Unbox; 10 per ₹150 on SaaS spends via Nuclei, which Kotak states are "not available on RuPay variant"; up to 2 per ₹150 on everything else. Accelerated flight/hotel/SaaS points share a 1,00,000-point ceiling. Nothing earns on EMI, rent, wallets or education. Points redeem at ₹0.25 on Kotak Unbox, cover at most 80% of a cart, need a 500-point minimum and expire after 36 months. NO fuel-surcharge waiver ("NA") even though fuel is a 5X category, and no railway-surcharge waiver. Card reissue/replacement waived. Cheque bounce 2% min ₹500; auto-debit return min ₹450, 2% capped at ₹5,000. NO LOUNGE ACCESS — Kotak's product page lists none and the word does not appear in the served bytes, contrary to several third-party listings. RuPay and Visa variants; the RuPay one links to UPI. The card's Key Fact Statement is filed under Kotak's /corporate-cards/ path while the product sits in the personal-banking nav.

- 30 Sept 2026Dream Different's unredeemed reward points expire after 30 September 2026Reward points accrued on the Dream Different Credit Card up to 31 March 2026 sitting in the account with no stated expiry date → A hard forfeiture date — "After 30th September, 2026, any unredeemed Reward Points will automatically expire"
The second half of the note that closed the programme is the part holders can still act on. Kotak's cardholder agreement gives every Dream Different point accrued up to 31 March 2026 a six-month redemption window that shuts on 30 September 2026, after which unredeemed points are forfeited outright. At the agreement's own conversion rate of 25 paise per point, a year of the card's headline 4-points-per-₹100 online earn on ₹1 lakh of online spend is roughly 4,000 points, about ₹1,000 — small money, but money that becomes zero on 1 October. Points redeem against the Kotak catalogue (flights, hotels, vouchers, merchandise) or as a statement credit through the rewards portal or the contact centre, each with its own minimum, so a last-week redemption risks missing the date on processing alone.
