What it's worth to you, after the fee

Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes how it earns — every net-value number here would be a fee subtracted from rewards nobody has described. Everything we can source — the fee, the charges, the migration that put this card in your hand — is above and stands on its own; this card is simply not on the board, not in the calculator, and cannot win a best-of call until YES Bank publishes terms we can cite.

The take

FREO — the card the market still calls MoneyTap — is closed. Its own page carries the notice: "We are no longer accepting applications for YES BANK FREO Credit Card. All existing cardholders are requested to reach out to the Bank … to get their Card upgraded into other Card variants offered by the Bank." That is not a pause; it is a migration request. What the bank does publish is the cost and the exclusions. ₹399 in year one, waived at ₹10,000 of spend in the first 30 days; ₹399 to renew, waived at ₹1 lakh in the anniversary year. Foreign spend runs at 3.40%, which is the one number on this card below the Indian norm, and it did not move on 15 June 2026 when most of the YES shelf went to 3.50%. Fuel, rent, wallet transfers, government categories, ATM withdrawals, utilities, cash advances, fees and EMI conversions earn no cashback at all. What the bank does NOT publish anywhere we can find is the rate itself — so this desk prints no rate. A cashback card whose cashback percentage exists only inside a partner app is a card you cannot price before you take it, and now cannot take at all.

Your renewal — keep, downgrade or cancel

There is no renewal arithmetic to run on this card yet — and a break-even we cannot source is not one we will print.

Keep, downgrade or cancel

what we can and cannot price

Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes how it earns — every net-value number here would be a fee subtracted from rewards nobody has described. A break-even is the spend at which value crosses a fee, and we are short one side of that sentence — so this desk prints no ladder, no crossing and no ₹0 standing in for either. What we can source about this card is under Sources.

The downgrade

YES Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and we cannot price either side of it.

What has changed under this card

  • 15 Jun 2026 YES's ₹100 redemption fee reaches Marquee and Reserv issuer-wide
  • 15 Jun 2026 YES Bank raises forex on almost every card it sells — SELECT takes 75 basis points in one step issuer-wide
  • 1 Apr 2025 YES lounge gate triples to ₹1 lakh on Marquee and Reserv issuer-wide

We price what is in force today — a change that has not happened yet is not in these numbers. the full archive for this card →

If you call to cancel

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →

The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.

What's good

  • ₹399 first-year fee waived at ₹10,000 of spend in the first 30 days
  • ₹399 renewal waived at ₹1,00,000 in the anniversary year
  • Foreign currency markup of 3.40% — below the 3.50% the rest of the YES shelf moved to on 15-Jun-2026
  • Fuel surcharge waived between ₹400 and ₹5,000 a transaction, up to ₹125 a statement cycle

Watch out

  • YES has stopped taking applications and is asking existing holders to upgrade to another variant
  • No cashback rate is published by the bank in either the product page or the MITC, so this desk prints none
  • Fuel, rent, wallet transfers, government spend, ATM withdrawals, utilities, cash advances, fees and EMI conversions earn no cashback
  • Rent is limited to three transactions in a rolling 30 days
  • No lounge access — FREO is absent from the MITC's domestic lounge threshold table

What these points actually fly

YES Bank has not published what this card earns, so there are no points here to fly with — not zero points, and not points that go nowhere: nothing stated either way. The moment a benefit sheet exists we will price whatever it names.

Does your spend count toward the fee waiver?

not published — and we say which

₹1,00,000 a year is the bar that waives the ₹399 fee. A different question from the one above — earning points and counting toward a threshold are separate rules, and issuers write them separately.

Not published. YES Bank states what the YES Bank FREO earns, but has not published which spend categories count toward the fee waiver — the ₹1,00,000 bar. We won't guess it from the earn table or from a sibling card: Axis published three cards' rules on one day and all three lists differed. If you hold this card and have it in writing from the issuer, send us the document and we'll source it.

Route Closed to new applications
Income · salaried not published
Income · self-employed not published
Age band not published

Closed to new applications — existing cardholders keep the card; there is no way in.

You cannot. The product page's own notice ends the funnel and directs existing holders to call 1800-103-1212 or write to yestouchcc@yes.bank.in to be moved onto another YES variant. While it was open the published bar was 21 to 60 years old, salaried or self-employed, ₹25,000 a month net salary or ₹7.5 lakh of income-tax return — and the standing YES catch applied: existing YES credit cardholders were not eligible.

YES Bank publishes no income or age cutoffs for this card. Blank means blank — we don't invent numbers to fill a grid.

    Fee moderate YES Bank
YES's ₹100 redemption fee reaches Marquee and Reserv
Marquee and Reserv exempt from the ₹100-per-redemption fee; card reissuance ₹100–₹200 by variant → ₹100 fee on every redemption request, premium cards included, plus a ₹99 booking fee on YES Rewardz flights; reissuance ₹199; fuel-surcharge waiver window revised

The exemption that let Marquee and Reserv holders pretend the ₹100 redemption fee was someone else's problem is gone. From 15 June 2026 every YES card pays ₹100 per redemption request, and booking a flight through YES Rewardz — the only place the points are worth their ₹0.25 — stacks a ₹99 booking fee on top. On a card whose whole pitch is settling 4.5% online earnings in portal travel, YES now charges you twice at the exit.
