Welcome: None — the card ships bare; the ₹1,00,000 fee reads Nil for the Burgundy Private clients who are the only people allowed to hold it

Priced on the everyday mix — 30% groceries · 10% utilities · 20% travel · 6% fuel · 34% everything else — with this card's published category rules applied: it earns nothing on utilities and fuel here, so that spend is dropped, not paid at the headline, and stops pacing milestones and the waiver. Plus milestones, minus the fee. No accelerator credit — the ranking model on /compare adds ~20% of spend at the card's best accelerator, so its ₹ for this card reads higher.

Pays for itself at ₹1,70,000 a month

At ₹1,70,000 a month — ₹20,40,000 a year — on the everyday mix this card returns ₹1,02,800 gross (earn ₹1,02,800) against its ₹1,00,000 fee = ₹2,800 net — the first rung at or above ₹0. The ladder runs in ₹1,000 steps to ₹1,00,000 a month and ₹10,000 steps to ₹5,00,000; figures are rounded to the hundred, and the accelerator is never credited.

Axis Bank · Visa · super-premium

Visa

Why #6 The value model would seat this several places higher — 6% flat earn with the fee scored as the Nil it actually reads for the only people allowed to hold it. We seat it just outside the crown because a rank is advice, and this advice is unactionable for all but a few thousand readers: the door is a ₹5 crore Burgundy Private relationship, not an income slab and not an application form. Nothing here is overrated — 15 EDGE RP per ₹200 converting 5:4 to every partner is the best EDGE deal in the country, and it is the one Axis card that kept 5:4 on the April-2026 additions. It simply cannot be shopped for, so it does not displace cards a reader can go and get.

Denied or downgraded? The head-to-heads: Axis Magnus for Burgundy, Axis Olympus, HSBC Premier (Metal), IDFC FIRST Private, Axis Magnus, Standard Chartered Beyond, IndusInd PIONEER Private, Axis Bank Reserve, Axis Bank PRIMUS.

The take

Burgundy Private is what Axis hands its private-banking clients instead of a fruit basket: a Visa Infinite metal card — "The One" — where the fee, the forex markup, the dynamic-currency markup and the cash-withdrawal charge all read Nil, and the revolving rate is 1.5% a month (19.56% p.a.), the lowest Axis publishes. The engine is quietly the best EDGE Rewards deal in the country: a flat 15 EDGE RP per ₹200 with a 5:4 ratio on every single transfer partner, which lands a real 6% miles rate with no tier arithmetic — and it's the only Axis card that keeps 5:4 on the April-2026 additions where Magnus for Burgundy gets fobbed off with 5:2. Transfer headroom is 15 lakh points a year (3L Group A / 12L Group B), half again Magnus for Burgundy's 10L. The catch is that you can't buy it: the door is a Burgundy Private banking relationship worth ₹5 crore-plus, and Axis sends the invite, not the other way around. If the bank already manages your money, this replaces every other Axis card in the drawer.

The downgrade

Axis Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and the numbers above are the whole of it.

What has changed under this card

  • 23 Sep 2026 Axis EDGE brings Accor back, drops ITC, and adds Cathay, Miles & More and Hilton issuer-wide
  • 15 Sep 2026 Wyndham splits its three flat free-night tiers into four a program these points reach
  • 8 Sep 2026 Flying Blue splits award tickets into Light / Standard / Flex — a 25% rise for the same product a program these points reach

We price what is in force today — a change that has not happened yet is not in these numbers. the full archive for this card →

If you call to cancel

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →

The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.

What's good

  • 15 EDGE RP per ₹200 at 5:4 on every partner — a flat 6% miles rate, no tiers, no mental math
  • The only Axis card holding 5:4 on the punished partners — BA, Finnair, Vietnam, IndiGo, Qatar, Cathay and the returned Accor — where Magnus for Burgundy drops to 5:2
  • Nil forex markup, nil dynamic-currency markup, nil cash-withdrawal charges — and 1.5%/month interest, the lowest rate Axis publishes
  • Unlimited domestic + international lounges for primary and add-ons with 12 guest visits, 50 domestic + 4 international golf rounds a year, Club Marriott / Accor+ Explorer / Taj Epicure / EazyDiner Prime memberships
  • 15L points/yr transfer ceiling (3L Group A / 12L Group B) — 50% more headroom than Magnus for Burgundy

Watch out

  • Invite-only behind a ₹5 Cr Burgundy Private Total Relationship Value — EXCLUDING demat — so the fee is Nil but the door costs crores
  • ₹1,00,000 + GST surfaces if the private-banking relationship lapses or you downgrade out — that lapse fee DOUBLED from ₹50,000 on 1 Sep 2026, and TRV is tested in the month before your card anniversary month, so a relationship that slipped in the wrong month bills six figures
  • Aug–Nov 2026 revision package: since 28 Aug 2026 Priority Pass no longer opens Indian domestic lounges (present The One Card itself; PP stays for international and post-immigration lounges), and from 15 Nov 2026 the bundled memberships renew only with your explicit consent
  • No welcome bonus and no milestones — the flat earn and the perks are the entire pitch
  • Standard EDGE exclusions: nothing on fuel, government, utilities, gold/jewellery; insurance earn capped at 6,000 RP/month
  • Marriott is still gone and ITC left the 25 Sep 2026 grid. Accor returned, and this card keeps 5:4 there — the same 5:4 it kept on Qatar

Invite-only — there is no public application form. The bank calls you.

There is no application form. Axis's own One Card page states the rule outright: "The One Card can be availed only by a Burgundy Private client upon meeting the Total Relationship Value (TRV) requirement of Rs. 5 crore (excluding demat)", salaried or not — and the card is issued to those clients on invitation, with the ₹1,00,000 fee waived as a matter of course. The banking relationship IS the underwriting: build the ₹5 Cr TRV, and the card follows; there is no income route, no branch walk-in, and no way to pay your way past the door. Lose Burgundy Private status and Axis converts The One Card into whatever card your downgraded savings account carries.

The fine print

5 of 7 MITC rows published

What the MITC actually says — the rates, fees and cutoffs the brochure skips.

Forex markup Nil — no foreign-currency markup, and Nil dynamic-currency-conversion markup too; the 12-Aug-2026 KFS named THREE Axis cards at zero DCC — Burgundy Private, PRIMUS and OLYMPUS — but the 18-Aug-2026 edition moved OLYMPUS into the 1.8% clause from 28 August 2026, leaving Burgundy Private and PRIMUS as the two
APR 1.5% p.m. (19.56% p.a.) — the lowest rate Axis publishes, per the bank's own Key Fact Sheet (sosc-credit-cards.pdf); corrects CardExpert's "nil interest" launch claim
Late fee Nil — expressly waived for Burgundy Private, where the standard Axis ladder runs ₹500 / ₹750 / ₹1,200 by outstanding balance
Cash advance Nil — no cash-withdrawal charges, and the ₹175 cash-payment-at-branch fee is waived as well
Add-on card not published
Overlimit Nil — expressly waived for Burgundy Private, against an Axis standard of 2.5% of the over-limit amount (min ₹500)
Redemption fee not published

Fee ₹1,00,000 + GST, Nil for Burgundy Private account holders — effectively Nil for every actual holder; no spend-based waiver, the fee only surfaces if the ₹5 Cr relationship lapses. That lapse fee DOUBLED from ₹50,000 to ₹1,00,000 + GST on 1 Sep 2026 (Axis revision T&C); the bank-wide Key Fact Sheet, re-read 2026-08-08, printed the ₹1,00,000 ahead of the effective date, with TRV tested in the month preceding the fee levy. Forex, DCC, APR, late-fee, over-limit, cheque-return and cash-withdrawal now read off that official Key Fact Sheet rather than the community write-ups, which agree; the product page itself stays unfetchable to bots (404/bot-wall, attempted 2026-07-22), so add-on and redemption fees remain not published — the KFS add-on footnote belongs to PRIMUS, not to this card.

The Reserve's memberships stop renewing unless you say yes
Club ITC Culinaire, Accorplus, handcrafted Club Marriott Asia Pacific, EazyDiner Prime and Priority Pass renewed automatically each year for as long as the card was open → From 15 Nov 2026 complimentary memberships linked to the card renew only with the cardholder's explicit consent — Axis says renewal and consent details will be shared closer to each renewal date. The same notice flips Priority Pass off at Indian domestic lounges from 28 Aug 2026 (present the Reserve card itself) and adds a ₹1,300 late-payment slab above ₹50,000 outstanding

The Reserve's whole defence of a ₹50,000 fee is the membership stack — Club ITC Culinaire with its free third night, Accorplus, handcrafted Club Marriott Asia Pacific, EazyDiner Prime, and the unlimited Priority Pass. Axis's own Reserve revision notice says that from 15 November none of them renew unless you actively consent. Framed as a choice, it works as breakage: the failure mode of an opt-in is silence, and a cardholder who misses the renewal email keeps paying ₹50,000 for a card whose benefits have quietly lapsed. Reserve is on the same list as Select, Magnus, Magnus for Burgundy, Burgundy Private, Olympus and both Miles & More cards, so this is the whole Axis premium book learning the same trick. Two other things ride the notice: from 28 August the Priority Pass card stops opening Indian domestic lounges — you present the Reserve itself against Axis's own eligible-lounge list, and post-immigration lounges at Indian international terminals still count as international — and a fifth late-payment slab of ₹1,300 appears above ₹50,000 outstanding. Notably, the Reserve notice carries no dynamic-currency-conversion line at all while the bank-wide grid goes 1.5% → 3.5%, and the card's 1.5% foreign transaction fee is untouched.

Accor and Marriott off the grid since 2 April 2026; Club ITC live; no Cathay, Miles & More or Hilton → Accor live at the punished rates; ITC removed; Cathay, Hilton and Miles & More live; Marriott still gone

Axis's own Travel EDGE terms, re-read 25 September 2026, already show the grid that went live on 23 September. Accor ALL is back, and not at the old Atlas 1:2: EDGE Miles convert at 2:1 (Olympus 1:2) and EDGE Rewards at 5:1, with Magnus for Burgundy at 5:2 and only Burgundy Private still at 5:4. Club ITC is off the table. Three partners are new. Cathay Asia Miles sits on that same punished grid. Hilton Honors is the ordinary one: EDGE Miles 1:2, EDGE Rewards 5:2, Burgundy 5:4. Lufthansa Miles & More is the exception on Atlas, which converts 1:1 there while every other standard airline on that card is 1:2; the EDGE Rewards side of Miles & More is the ordinary 5:2. Marriott stays removed. Qatar Privilege Club was already back. Flying Blue, Air India and Qantas moved into Group A, which is the capped group. The Axis Rewards credit card's Amex network is advertised as joining-fee and annual-fee nil for a limited period; there is no separate Amex variant on this board, so that offer is not modelled as a fee change.
