Priced on the everyday mix — 30% groceries · 10% utilities · 20% travel · 6% fuel · 34% everything else — with this card's published category rules applied. Plus milestones, minus the fee. No accelerator credit — the ranking model on /compare adds ~20% of spend at the card's best accelerator, so its ₹ for this card reads higher.

Breaks even only by erasing its fee at ₹9,000 a month

At ₹9,000 a month — ₹1,08,000 a year — on the everyday mix this card returns ₹500 gross (earn ₹500) against a fee of ₹0 — the ₹1,499 is waived, the spend having cleared ₹1,00,000 a year = ₹500 net — the first rung at or above ₹0. The ladder runs in ₹1,000 steps to ₹1,00,000 a month and ₹10,000 steps to ₹5,00,000; figures are rounded to the hundred, and the accelerator is never credited.

RuPay — RuPay Platinum chassis, women-only; UPI-linkable

Why #159 The women-only bracket has almost nothing on this board, and this is the only card in it pairing a quarterly domestic lounge quota with two international visits. Ranked on that, and marked down for a 0.5% point that goes nowhere.

₹1,499 + GST
Annual fee1
₹1,00,000 spend
Fee waiver

₹0.25 a point, flat, and the page says so outright — "1 Reward Point = ₹0.25 value". Redemption is a bill payment or a gift voucher through Union Rewardz; Union Bank publishes no airline or hotel partner on any card, so 0.5% is the whole return.

The take

DIVAA ICON is Union Bank's women-only card, and it is a genuinely better lounge answer than the fee suggests: two domestic visits every quarter plus two international visits a year, printed as a table on the bank's own page rather than gestured at in marketing prose. At ₹1,499 — waived at ₹1L of spend in twelve months — that is the same lounge shape SBI Pulse charges the same money for, with the international leg SBI does not give you. On top sit a flat ₹1,500 off a MakeMyTrip flight once a year, a ₹1,500 Lakmé Salon card every quarter, quarterly Nykaa, BigBasket, Flipkart, Jockey and twice-quarterly Myntra vouchers, three months of Swiggy One, three months of Cult.fit, a ₹1,000 Healthians coupon, and ₹2 lakh of cyber cover with a cancer-insurance alternative. What it does not have is a reward programme worth engaging with. Two points per ₹100 at a flat ₹0.25 is 0.5% — half what Union's own RuPay Select pays for a third of the fee — and those points redeem into your own statement, because Union Bank publishes no airline or hotel partner on any card it issues. Forex is 3%. So the voucher stack has to carry the fee, and it can: burn the Lakmé card and the MakeMyTrip coupon alone and you are ahead. Just don't spend on it. Downgrade.

Your renewal — keep, downgrade or cancel

This card reaches break-even by ERASING its fee, not by out-earning it: the waiver is the decision.

₹1,00,000 annual spend erases that fee
₹9,000/mo is where the waiver, not the earn, saves it

₹1,499/yr at stake · 5 spend bands

The charge ₹1,499/yr

The waiver ₹1,00,000 of spend in the year before renewal — about ₹8,333 a month — and the renewal fee is not charged.

Break-even ₹9,000 a month — ₹1,08,000 a year — is where this card's value crosses its fee, and it gets there by erasing the fee at the waiver rather than out-earning it.

At your spend

₹1,500 a year, net of the fee, at ₹3,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged

₹3,000 a year, net of the fee, at ₹6,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged

₹6,000 a year, net of the fee, at ₹12,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged

₹18,000 a year, net of the fee, at ₹36,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged

₹30,000 a year, net of the fee, at ₹60,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged

The downgrade

Union Bank of India publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and the numbers above are the whole of it.

If you call to cancel

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →

The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.

What's good

  • 2 domestic lounge visits a quarter (8/yr) PLUS 2 international visits a year
  • ₹1,500 off a MakeMyTrip flight, once a year, BIN-locked
  • ₹1,500 Lakmé Salon e-gift card EVERY quarter — ₹6,000 a year at face value
  • Fee waived at ₹1L of spend in 12 months, and there is no joining fee at all
  • ₹2 lakh of cyber insurance, or a cancer-insurance alternative, at the bank's cost

Watch out

  • 0.5% earn — 2 points per ₹100 at ₹0.25 — half what the ₹550 RuPay Select pays
  • Union Rewardz has NO airline or hotel partner; points only pay your own bill
  • 3% forex on a card that hands you international lounge visits
  • The reward exclusions are 'standard MCC guidelines' — the bank never lists them
  • Women-only, and the ₹499 replacement fee is triple the RuPay Platinum it is built on

What these points actually fly

No live transfer route takes Union Rewardz Points into a programme that publishes an award chart. These points buy catalogue and portal redemptions, not award seats — so this page has no flight to show you, and will not invent one.

Does your spend count toward the fee waiver?

not published — and we say which

₹1,00,000 a year is the bar that waives the ₹1,499 fee. A different question from the one above — earning points and counting toward a threshold are separate rules, and issuers write them separately.

Not published. Union Bank of India states what the Union Bank DIVAA ICON earns, but has not published which spend categories count toward the fee waiver — the ₹1,00,000 bar. We won't guess it from the earn table or from a sibling card: Axis published three cards' rules on one day and all three lists differed. If you hold this card and have it in writing from the issuer, send us the document and we'll source it.

One MITC covers the whole Union Bank shelf (version 1.4, effective 25 Sep 2025), and it files this card as "Divaa Icon Credit Card (Female Only- RuPay Platinum)" — a women-only build on the RuPay Platinum chassis. No joining fee; ₹1,499 annual, waived if previous-12-month usage reaches ₹1 lakh. Card replacement ₹499, against ₹149 for the RuPay Platinum it is built on. Accidental cover ₹2 lakh borne by NPCI with a ₹10 lakh cardholder- paid top-up. Union Bank publishes no income criteria for this card and no monthly reward cap — the 10,000-point monthly ceiling in the MITC is written into the UNICORN and NEXTERIA reward structures only. CIBIL 700+ unless issued against a deposit lien.
