What it's worth to you, after the fee
Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes a fee schedule AND an earn table — we have neither number, so there is nothing to net off against nothing. Everything we can source — the fee, the charges, the migration that put this card in your hand — is above and stands on its own; this card is simply not on the board, not in the calculator, and cannot win a best-of call until RBL Bank publishes terms we can cite.
Why we decline to value some cards, and what it takes to change that →
2 notes on the card itself: how it is issued · why it ranks #1070
Why #1070 The junior half of RBL's two-tier Crossword bookstore co-brand. Carried for the record, not ranked: RBL published the program and both card names but never priced either card or published an earn rate, so there is no number to rank on.
The take
This is the junior tier of the Crossword Bookstores co-brand RBL ran until about 2017, and its whole documented existence is one paragraph and one card name on the bank's own program page: "Welcome to the 'RBL Bank Crossword Rewards Credit Card' Program brought to you by Crossword and RBL Bank", under a blurb promising discounts at Crossword stores, free movie tickets, airport lounge access and a fuel-surcharge waiver. Not one of those benefits carries a number, and neither does the card. RBL's contemporaneous Schedule of Charges prices by plastic tier rather than by product; its February-2017 MITC prices fourteen cards by name and Crossword is in none of them; the live Schedule prices sixty and has no Crossword row either. The card's own sub-page was linked from the index and never crawled, so the Archive holds the link and not the page. The honest version of this card is therefore a name, a partner, a program blurb and an ending — which is more than the reader had before, and everything we can prove.

Keep, downgrade or cancel
what we can and cannot price
Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes a fee schedule AND an earn table — we have neither number, so there is nothing to net off against nothing. A break-even is the spend at which value crosses a fee, and we are short one side of that sentence — so this desk prints no ladder, no crossing and no ₹0 standing in for either. What we can source about this card is under Sources.

The downgrade
RBL Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and we cannot price either side of it.
What has changed under this card
- 7 Jan 2026 RBL bolts a 1% fee onto FASTag loads and tolls — the fifth 1% line on its charge sheet issuer-wide
- 1 Jul 2025 RBL gates domestic lounges behind ₹35k a quarter issuer-wide
- 15 Oct 2024 RBL strips points from education, government and wallet spends issuer-wide
We price what is in force today — a change that has not happened yet is not in these numbers. the full archive for this card →
If you call to cancel
What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →
The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.
What's good
- The junior tier of RBL's two-card Crossword Bookstores co-brand
- RBL's program page promises discounts at Crossword Bookstores, free movie tickets, airport lounge access and a fuel-surcharge waiver — every one of them unquantified
Watch out
- WITHDRAWN — no Crossword row in RBL's live Schedule of Charges, and the product path 404s on the current estate
- NO PUBLISHED FEE. Three RBL fee documents were read; the two contemporaneous ones price by plastic tier or by a fourteen-card named table this card is absent from
- NO PUBLISHED EARN RATE despite the name — the card is carried, not valued, and appears in no ranking or calculator
- The lounge access RBL advertises for the program carries no quota, no operator and no lounge list, so this desk maps no door for it
- RBL charges 1% on FIVE transaction types its Schedule of Charges lists separately from the reward exclusions: rent (MCC 6513, on every transaction), fuel and auto above ₹10,000 a transaction (capped at ₹3,000), utility spends above ₹50,000 a month, education paid through third-party apps such as CRED, PhonePe or Paytm (school and college websites are exempt), and — with effect from 7 January 2026 — FASTag loading and tolls above ₹10,000 a transaction. These are FEES, listed nowhere near the reward exclusions: a category can both cost you 1% and earn you nothing
What these points actually fly
RBL Bank has not published what this card earns, so there are no points here to fly with — not zero points, and not points that go nowhere: nothing stated either way. The moment a benefit sheet exists we will price whatever it names.

Can you get it?
the route in — no cutoffs published
The cutoffs and the actual route in — not the "apply now" button, the door that opens.
Closed to new applications — existing cardholders keep the card; there is no way in.
You cannot. RBL's live Schedule of Charges names sixty card variants and no Crossword row is among them, the live product path returns the same 404 body an invented path returns, and the Crossword program page was last captured in May 2017 before RBL retired the whole .aspx estate.
RBL Bank publishes no income or age cutoffs for this card. Blank means blank — we don't invent numbers to fill a grid.

- 22 Aug 2026RBL relaunches the Shoppers Stop co-brand as a Gold / Platinum / Black trioAn older single Shoppers Stop co-brand line → Three tiers — Gold (₹1,000), Platinum (₹5,000), Black (₹10,000) annual — earning 10 RP/₹200 (Gold, Platinum) or 15 RP/₹200 (Black) across the Shoppers Stop Universe, with points worth ₹0.25 / ₹0.50 / ₹1.00 respectively
RBL rebuilt its Shoppers Stop co-brand into a three-card ladder. The fee rung buys a richer point, not just more of them: a Reward Point is worth ₹0.25 on Gold, ₹0.50 on Platinum and ₹1.00 on Black, so Black's 15 RP per ₹200 at ₹1 a point is a genuine 7.5% back on First Citizen days inside the Shoppers Stop Universe. Welcome vouchers scale the same way (₹500 quarterly on Gold, ₹2,000 plus Platinum membership and a makeover on Platinum, ₹1,500 quarterly on Black). No lounge access on any of the three — these are store cards and earn like it, with value only inside Shoppers Stop. All three are already on our board.
