What it's worth to you, after the fee
Welcome: None published — no welcome, activation or milestone benefit appears in the product page, the features page, the FAQ or the fee table.
Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes how it earns — every net-value number here would be a fee subtracted from rewards nobody has described. Everything we can source — the fee, the charges, the migration that put this card in your hand — is above and stands on its own; this card is simply not on the board, not in the calculator, and cannot win a best-of call until Kotak Mahindra Bank publishes terms we can cite.
Why we decline to value some cards, and what it takes to change that →
2 notes on the card itself: how it is issued · why it ranks #859
Why #859 Carried and not valued, and off the consumer board besides. This was a purchase card for one wholesaler's own stores, with no reward table published anywhere across a product page, a features page, an FAQ and a fee table — the credit cycle was the whole product.
The take
Kotak's own page now says the important part in one word: "Best Price Credit Card (Discontinued)". What it was is a genuinely odd product and worth keeping on the record. Best Price Modern Wholesale was Walmart's Indian cash-and-carry chain, and this card worked nowhere else — Kotak is explicit, "This Card is exclusively for Best Price Modern Wholesale stores only." It was free, permanently: nil joining, nil annual, nil for the two add-on cards, which a kirana owner could hand to employees with individual spend limits and separate line-item tracking. The product was the credit cycle rather than any reward. Fourteen interest-free days, and — the detail that dates it — "starts afresh on every transaction", so each purchase carried its own clock rather than a shared statement cycle. The catch was collateral: "Each transaction on this card needs to be backed by a PDC of the total purchase amount when the card is swiped in a Best Price store", a post-dated cheque per swipe. Miss the window and the base card charged 3.4% a month — 40.8% a year — while the Premium variant, at ₹999 a year, charged 1.5% a month, 18%, which is the cheapest revolving rate on this whole board and tells you the Premium card was underwritten as a business credit line rather than a card. No rewards are published anywhere across four Kotak documents, so we carry it and do not value it. Walmart sold Best Price into Flipkart Wholesale in 2020 and the chain no longer trades under that name; if you came looking for the successor, Kotak's Biz, BizEdge and Purchase cards are the surviving business shelf.

Keep, downgrade or cancel
what we can and cannot price
Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes how it earns — every net-value number here would be a fee subtracted from rewards nobody has described. A break-even is the spend at which value crosses a fee, and we are short one side of that sentence — so this desk prints no ladder, no crossing and no ₹0 standing in for either. What we can source about this card is under Sources.

The downgrade
Kotak Mahindra Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and we cannot price either side of it.
What has changed under this card
- 1 Jun 2025 Kotak's June-2025 fee wave washes over the premium deck issuer-wide
- 12 Feb 2025 RBI lifts Kotak's ten-month card-issuance ban issuer-wide

If you call to cancel
What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →
The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.
What's good
- Free for life on both counts — the fee table reads Nil joining and Nil annual, and the FAQ repeats it
- Fourteen interest-free days that start afresh on every transaction, not on a statement cycle
- Two free add-on cards, each with its own spend limit and separately tracked spends
- The Premium variant charged 1.5% a month — 18% a year — the cheapest revolving rate on this board
- Card replacement, duplicate statements, charge-slip requests and outstation cheque processing all waived
- Employees could buy on the business's behalf without carrying cash
Watch out
- DISCONTINUED — Kotak's own live page is titled "Best Price Credit Card (Discontinued)", and Walmart sold the Best Price chain into Flipkart Wholesale in 2020
- Usable ONLY inside Best Price Modern Wholesale stores — Kotak says "exclusively", and the FAQ repeats that both variants "can only be used inside Best Price Stores"
- Every swipe had to be backed by a post-dated cheque for the full purchase amount
- 3.4% a month — 40.8% a year — on the free variant if the fourteen days lapse
- The Premium variant was not free: nil joining but ₹999 a year
- No reward rate, points currency or cashback percentage is published in any of Kotak's four documents for this card
- A business card: carried on this board but never ranked against a personal one
What these points actually fly
Kotak Mahindra Bank has not published what this card earns, so there are no points here to fly with — not zero points, and not points that go nowhere: nothing stated either way. The moment a benefit sheet exists we will price whatever it names.

income, age and the route in
The cutoffs and the actual route in — not the "apply now" button, the door that opens.
Closed to new applications — existing cardholders keep the card; there is no way in.
You cannot — Kotak's own page carries the word "(Discontinued)" in its title. While it ran, the route in was the shop floor rather than the bank: "To apply, please contact Kotak Best Price Financial Advisor at the Credit Solution Helpdesk at your nearest Best Price store." Two variants existed — the Kotak Best Price Business Card and the Business Card-Corporate, the latter "primarily meant for the Organizations and Institutions segment" — and Kotak's fee table prices them as Bestprice (free) and BestPrice-Premium (₹999 a year). For a working-capital card on Kotak's licence today, look at Biz, BizEdge or the Purchase card.

DISCONTINUED, and Kotak's own live page says so in its title — "Best Price Credit Card (Discontinued)". A Walmart co-brand: "Kotak Credit Cards and Best Price Modern Wholesale, a Wal-Mart Venture bring a Card with benefits that boost your business. This Card is exclusively for Best Price Modern Wholesale stores only." TWO VARIANTS in one fee table — "Bestprice" at Nil joining and Nil annual, and "BestPrice-Premium" at Nil joining and ₹999 annual; this row is the free one. The product was the credit cycle, not a reward: "14-day Credit Cycle that starts afresh on every transaction", with the collateral condition spelled out in the FAQ — "Each transaction on this card needs to be backed by a PDC of the total purchase amount when the card is swiped in a Best Price store." Other charges: cheque bounce ₹500, cash payment at the bank ₹100, CIBIL report copy ₹50; card reissue, charge-slip request, duplicate statement and outstation cheque processing all waived. NO REWARD ROW exists in the fee table, the features page or the nine-question FAQ, which is why the card carries no modelled earn.

- 30 Sept 2026Dream Different's unredeemed reward points expire after 30 September 2026Reward points accrued on the Dream Different Credit Card up to 31 March 2026 sitting in the account with no stated expiry date → A hard forfeiture date — "After 30th September, 2026, any unredeemed Reward Points will automatically expire"
The second half of the note that closed the programme is the part holders can still act on. Kotak's cardholder agreement gives every Dream Different point accrued up to 31 March 2026 a six-month redemption window that shuts on 30 September 2026, after which unredeemed points are forfeited outright. At the agreement's own conversion rate of 25 paise per point, a year of the card's headline 4-points-per-₹100 online earn on ₹1 lakh of online spend is roughly 4,000 points, about ₹1,000 — small money, but money that becomes zero on 1 October. Points redeem against the Kotak catalogue (flights, hotels, vouchers, merchandise) or as a statement credit through the rewards portal or the contact centre, each with its own minimum, so a last-week redemption risks missing the date on processing alone.
