Priced on the everyday mix — 30% groceries · 10% utilities · 20% travel · 6% fuel · 34% everything else — with this card's published category rules applied. Plus milestones, minus the fee. No accelerator credit — the ranking model on /compare adds ~20% of spend at the card's best accelerator, so its ₹ for this card reads higher.

Pays for itself at ₹7,000 a month

At ₹7,000 a month — ₹84,000 a year — on the everyday mix this card returns ₹1,100 gross (earn ₹1,100) against its ₹1,000 fee = ₹100 net — the first rung at or above ₹0. The ladder runs in ₹1,000 steps to ₹1,00,000 a month and ₹10,000 steps to ₹5,00,000; figures are rounded to the hundred, and the accelerator is never credited.

Visa — The lounge benefit runs on Visa's own programme — HDFC links "the VISA lounge program" and warns of a ₹2 transaction fee per access — so the scheme is named in evidence, not assumed.

Why #754 The Pine Labs card that is actually worth something: the same merchant shape, but a point worth fifty paise instead of twenty-five, eight lounge visits a year, and a milestone ladder that pays 15,000 points at ₹8 lakh. Withdrawn from sourcing.

₹1,000 + GST
Annual fee1
₹1,00,000 spend
Fee waiver

This tier prices a point at double the base Pine Labs card, and HDFC publishes the ladder on the page: ₹0.50 against SmartBuy travel, 0.5 AirMiles on conversion, up to ₹0.35 on the product catalogue, ₹0.20 as statement cashback. Redemption to cashback and travel is capped at 50,000 points a month, grocery accrual at 1,000 points a month, points pay at most 70% of a booking, and a closed card's balance survives 30 days for products and vouchers only.

The take

Pine Labs Pro is the tier that justifies the Pine Labs card. Two things change from the ₹499 version and both are large. The point doubles in value — ₹0.50 against SmartBuy flights and hotels or half an AirMile on conversion, against ₹0.25 on the base card — and the e-commerce rate of four Reward Points per ₹150 now applies to POS spends too rather than being halved. That is 1.33% on everything the terminal touches, which is a genuinely good rate for a business card at ₹1,000. On top: eight complimentary airport lounge visits a calendar year, capped at two a quarter, running on Visa's own lounge programme with a nominal ₹2 charged to the card per access. The milestone ladder is the third piece and it is the biggest — 10,000 bonus points at ₹5 lakh of non-EMI spend, 15,000 in total at ₹8 lakh, which at ₹0.50 apiece is ₹7,500. The 5% on utility, telecom, IRCTC, government and tax payments carries the same ₹250-a-month ceiling as the base card, so treat it as ₹3,000 a year and no more. Fee mechanics match the base card: ₹1,000 billed only 90 days after issuance if the card was not activated on the sign-up terms, waived in year one by ₹75,000 of non-EMI spend inside those 90 days and thereafter by ₹1 lakh in 12 months. HDFC has stopped sourcing it.

The downgrade

HDFC Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and the numbers above are the whole of it.

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →

The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.

What's good

  • 4 Reward Points per ₹150 on BOTH e-commerce and POS spends, at ₹0.50 a point
  • 8 complimentary airport lounge visits a calendar year, capped at 2 a quarter
  • 10,000 bonus Reward Points at ₹5 lakh of non-EMI spend, 15,000 in total at ₹8 lakh
  • 5% cashback on utility, telecom, IRCTC, government and tax payments, capped at ₹250 a month
  • The ₹1,000 is billed 90 days after issuance, and only if the card was not activated per the sign-up terms
  • First-year fee waived at ₹75,000 of non-EMI spend inside 90 days; renewals at ₹1 lakh in 12 months
  • Points convert to AirMiles at 0.5 a point

Watch out

  • Withdrawn — HDFC states "Sourcing of this Credit Card has been stopped" and takes no new applications
  • The 5% dies at ₹250 a calendar month — ₹3,000 a year, whatever the bills are
  • The lounge benefit is 2 visits a QUARTER, not 8 whenever you like, and Visa charges ₹2 to the card per access
  • EMI, fuel and wallet-load transactions earn no Reward Points
  • Rent and education payments earn nothing at all
  • Statement cashback pays ₹0.20 a point — less than half the SmartBuy travel rate
  • Redemption to cashback and travel is capped at 50,000 points a month
  • The 3% cashback leg the page still describes expired on 30 September 2022

What these points actually fly

HDFC Reward Points move to Avianca LifeMiles , Air France-KLM Flying Blue , Etihad Guest , United MileagePlus , Air India Maharaja Points , AirAsia Rewards , SpiceJet SpiceClub , Accor Live Limitless (ALL) , Marriott Bonvoy , Club ITC , IHG One Rewards , Radisson Rewards and Wyndham Rewards — and those price every award dynamically. Does your spend count toward the fee waiver?

not published — and we say which

₹1,00,000 a year is the bar that waives the ₹1,000 fee. A different question from the one above — earning points and counting toward a threshold are separate rules, and issuers write them separately.

Not published. HDFC Bank states what the Pine Labs HDFC Bank Pro earns and does not earn, but has not published which spend categories count toward the fee waiver and the milestones — the ₹1,00,000 bar. We won't guess it from the earn table or from a sibling card: Axis published three cards' rules on one day and all three lists differed. If you hold this card and have it in writing from the issuer, send us the document and we'll source it.

You cannot. HDFC prints "Sourcing of this Credit Card has been stopped. Existing customers of this card will continue to enjoy the benefits." The card was distributed to merchants through Pine Labs rather than through HDFC's consumer funnel, and its fee is not charged at issuance: nothing is billed for 90 days, and activating on the sign-up terms inside that window avoids the charge entirely.

HDFC Bank publishes no income or age cutoffs for this card. Blank means blank — we don't invent numbers to fill a grid.

Axis EDGE brings Accor back, drops ITC, and adds Cathay, Miles & More and Hilton
Accor and Marriott off the grid since 2 April 2026; Club ITC live; no Cathay, Miles & More or Hilton → Accor live at the punished rates; ITC removed; Cathay, Hilton and Miles & More live; Marriott still gone

Axis's own Travel EDGE terms, re-read 25 September 2026, already show the grid that went live on 23 September. Accor ALL is back, and not at the old Atlas 1:2: EDGE Miles convert at 2:1 (Olympus 1:2) and EDGE Rewards at 5:1, with Magnus for Burgundy at 5:2 and only Burgundy Private still at 5:4. Club ITC is off the table. Three partners are new. Cathay Asia Miles sits on that same punished grid. Hilton Honors is the ordinary one: EDGE Miles 1:2, EDGE Rewards 5:2, Burgundy 5:4. Lufthansa Miles & More is the exception on Atlas, which converts 1:1 there while every other standard airline on that card is 1:2; the EDGE Rewards side of Miles & More is the ordinary 5:2. Marriott stays removed. Qatar Privilege Club was already back. Flying Blue, Air India and Qantas moved into Group A, which is the capped group. The Axis Rewards credit card's Amex network is advertised as joining-fee and annual-fee nil for a limited period; there is no separate Amex variant on this board, so that offer is not modelled as a fee change.
