What it's worth to you, after the fee
Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes a fee schedule AND an earn table — we have neither number, so there is nothing to net off against nothing. Everything we can source — the fee, the charges, the migration that put this card in your hand — is above and stands on its own; this card is simply not on the board, not in the calculator, and cannot win a best-of call until Citibank publishes terms we can cite.

2 notes on the card itself: how it is issued · why it ranks #800
Why #800 The best-known Indian travel card of its decade, and the one whose disappearance moved the most points. It is carried because a reader searching for it needs the two facts nobody else prints together: which card they now hold, and what their miles became on the way over.
The take
For most of the 2010s this was the answer when someone asked which Indian card to put flights on. It is gone, and the way it went is worth knowing precisely, because the ending was unusually orderly. Citi sold its Indian consumer business to Axis Bank; every card relationship completed migration on 15 July 2024; and from that day the Citi-branded plastic in your wallet stopped being a Citi product in everything but the logo. Axis's own words: "you can start enjoying the benefits of your new Axis Bank HORIZON Credit Card immediately on your existing Citi-branded Credit Card." So there is nothing left to value here — the card you actually hold is the HORIZON, it has its own page on this site, and that is where the numbers are. What this page is for is the part the HORIZON's page does not carry. Your balance did not survive one-for-one: Axis converted at 1 Mile = 0.45 EDGE Miles, which it justifies on the ground that "the monetary value of your reward points will continue to remain the same" — the count halved because the unit got bigger, not because you were robbed, and whether you believe that depends entirely on what you think an EDGE Mile is worth. Miles you held on migration day never expire. Anything earned since does, three years out, and sooner if you go 365 days without a transaction, a redemption or a login. That is the one live obligation this dead card leaves you.

what we can and cannot price
Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes a fee schedule AND an earn table — we have neither number, so there is nothing to net off against nothing. A break-even is the spend at which value crosses a fee, and we are short one side of that sentence — so this desk prints no ladder, no crossing and no ₹0 standing in for either. What we can source about this card is under Sources.
Your copy of this card
You hold this card.
Kept on this device, in your browser. It is never sent to us, never synced, and nothing else on the site reads it yet.
The downgrade
Citibank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and we cannot price either side of it.
If you call to cancel
What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →
The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.
What's good
- Migrated miles never expire — Axis grandfathered every balance held on 15 July 2024 with no fuse on it
- The Citi-branded plastic still works, and has carried the Axis HORIZON's full benefit set since migration day
- Carried for the record: the most widely held Indian travel card of its generation, and the largest single points migration this market has seen
Watch out
- WITHDRAWN — Citi's Indian consumer business was sold to Axis Bank and every card relationship completed migration on 15 July 2024; there is no application funnel
- Your balance was converted at 1 Mile = 0.45 EDGE Miles, so the number in the app is less than half what it was — Axis's position is that the monetary value is unchanged
- Nothing this card earns is valued here, because what it earns is the Axis HORIZON's rewards in the HORIZON's currency — that card is on this board and the numbers are on its page
- Miles earned AFTER migration expire three years out, and sooner if you go 365 days with no transaction, no redemption and no login to the EDGE REWARDS portal
- Axis states only that the annual fee 'remains the same' and never prints a figure; citibank.co.in, the document that did, no longer resolves
- Customer service is Axis Bank's — 1800 209 5577 / 1800 103 5577 — and the Citi Mobile app and Citibank Online are both retired
What these points actually fly
Citibank has not published what this card earns, so there are no points here to fly with — not zero points, and not points that go nowhere: nothing stated either way. The moment a benefit sheet exists we will price whatever it names.

The cutoffs and the actual route in — not the "apply now" button, the door that opens.
Closed to new applications — existing cardholders keep the card; there is no way in.
You cannot, and nobody holds one who did not already. Citi India stopped issuing consumer cards on the sale of the business to Axis Bank, migration of every card relationship completed on 15 July 2024, and Axis has been replacing the Citi-branded plastic with Axis Bank plastic since. If you are looking for what this card was, the honest answer is the Axis HORIZON, which is the product Axis built to receive its holders and which is ranked on this board on its own merits.
Citibank publishes no income or age cutoffs for this card. Blank means blank — we don't invent numbers to fill a grid.
