Welcome: 2,000 reward points for a single transaction of ₹2,000 or more within 60 days — ₹500 at the card's own ₹0.25 a point, against a ₹499 joining fee. First-time issuance only.

Priced on the everyday mix — 30% groceries · 10% utilities · 20% travel · 6% fuel · 34% everything else — with this card's published category rules applied. Plus milestones, minus the fee. No accelerator credit — the ranking model on /compare adds ~20% of spend at the card's best accelerator, so its ₹ for this card reads higher.

Pays for itself at ₹17,000 a month

At ₹17,000 a month — ₹2,04,000 a year — on the everyday mix this card returns ₹500 gross (earn ₹500) against its ₹499 fee = ₹0 net — the first rung at or above ₹0. The ladder runs in ₹1,000 steps to ₹1,00,000 a month and ₹10,000 steps to ₹5,00,000; figures are rounded to the hundred, and the accelerator is never credited.

SBI Card · Visa · entry

Visa — Federal's own page titles it "Federal Bank SBI - VISA Gold & More Credit Card"; the body copy hedges with "Just look for the Visa / Master card sign of acceptance", which is boilerplate shared across SBI's partner-bank pages of that era and not a second badge

Why #967 The cheap end of a partnership neither bank admits to any more. ₹499 a year bought one reward point per ₹100 at a quarter of a rupee each — 0.25%, near the floor of this board's SBI chassis though not at it: the SimplySAVE pair sits at 0.17% and seven older files at 0.20% — plus a fuel surcharge waiver and nothing else. Carried for the reader who still holds one.

Federal's own features table prices the point for you: "(1 point is equal to Rs. 0.25)". That is the same quarter-rupee its Platinum sibling states, and it is what turns "1 Reward Point per Rs. 100" into a quarter of a percent rather than the one percent the phrase suggests.

The take

Federal Bank spent most of a decade with a two-card shelf, both of them on SBI's licence, and this was the one you got if the Platinum's ₹2,999 was too much. It is the same machinery scaled down: a ₹1.75 lakh ceiling instead of ₹5 lakh, one reward point per ₹100 instead of two, and — critically — the same quarter-rupee point value Federal printed on both pages. One point per hundred at 25 paise is a quarter of a percent, which is about as little as an Indian credit card has ever paid on ordinary spend. What you actually got for ₹499 was the fuel surcharge waiver: 1% back on fuel between ₹500 and ₹3,000, capped at ₹100 a statement cycle, which is ₹1,200 a year if you fill up religiously and time every transaction. The joining offer was honest about the arithmetic — 2,000 points for a single ₹2,000 swipe inside 60 days, worth ₹500, sold under the heading "Get back more than your joining fee". It did, by one rupee. There is no lounge, no milestone ladder, no travel rung, and SBI Reward Points reach no airline and no hotel. Federal now sells OneCard and Scapia, SBI's regulatory terms have no Federal row left in them, and this page exists so that a reader holding the old plastic gets an answer.

The downgrade

SBI Card publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and the numbers above are the whole of it.

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →

The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.

What's good

  • ₹499 to get and ₹499 a year — the cheapest rung Federal ever put its name on
  • 2,000 reward points for one ₹2,000 transaction inside 60 days, worth ₹500 against the ₹499 fee
  • 1% fuel surcharge waived between ₹500 and ₹3,000, up to ₹100 a statement cycle
  • Credit limit up to ₹1.75 lakh

Watch out

  • WITHDRAWN — SBI's live MITC carries no Federal row and Federal's co-brand index lists only OneCard and Scapia
  • 0.25% on everything: 1 point per ₹100 at the ₹0.25 Federal's own page fixes it at
  • SBI Reward Points transfer to NO airline or hotel programme
  • 'Bonus Reward points at Dining and Grocery spends' was never given a multiplier by either bank, so no accelerated rate is claimed here
  • No lounge access, no milestone bonuses and no travel benefit of any kind — the Platinum sibling's lounge and golf lines have no counterpart on this card

What these points actually fly

No live transfer route takes SBI Reward Points into a programme that publishes an award chart. These points buy catalogue and portal redemptions, not award seats — so this page has no flight to show you, and will not invent one.

    Partner major SBI Card
SBI drops Etihad Guest from the MILES transfer table — the last SBI door into the programme
SBI Card Travel Credits transferred 1:1 into Etihad Guest, one of eighteen airline partners in §3 of the MILES rewards T&C. At the ₹1/partner-mile anchor that was a full-value exit, and it was the only route left after the two Etihad Guest SBI co-brands were retired. → No Etihad route at all. The MILES rewards T&C now lists seventeen airline partners and Etihad is not one of them — the word does not appear anywhere in the seven-page document. Every other SBI partner survives at the same ratio.

SBI Card's own MILES rewards T&C, re-fetched on 22 August 2026 and carrying a 3 August 2026 ModDate inside the PDF, has one fewer airline in it than the edition this desk read on 2 August. The deletion is provable from the numbering rather than from absence alone: the table's first seven rows are unchanged (Air Canada 3, Air France-KLM 4, Air India 5, British Airways 6, Cathay 7), and every row from position eight onward has moved up exactly one — Thai from 14 to 13, Qantas from 17 to 16. Position eight was Etihad Airways / Etihad Guest / 1:1. All twenty-four other partners we carry, airline and hotel, are still there at the same ratios, so this is Etihad being dropped and not SBI narrowing transfers. The timing matters more than the ratio. SBI phased out the Etihad Guest SBI and Etihad Guest SBI Premier cards from December 2025 and reissued holders onto MILES products, and the transfer route was what made that migration survivable — a Premier holder who had spent six years earning Etihad miles could keep feeding the same account through Travel Credits. That is now closed, and India's remaining pipes into Etihad Guest run through BOBCARD's Etihad co-brands, not through SBI. If you hold SBI Travel Credits earmarked for an Abu Dhabi business seat, they are Aeroplan, Flying Blue, Avios or Maharaja points now. ON THE DATE: SBI publishes no notice and no cut-off. The date here is the day the desk read the change out of SBI's own document; the PDF's internal ModDate puts the edition at 3 August 2026, which is the earliest day we can prove, not an announcement.
