What it's worth to you, after the fee
Welcome: 6,000 bonus Reward Points on ₹1 lakh spent within 30 days of issuance (the bank prices them at ₹6,000)
Priced on the everyday mix — 30% groceries · 10% utilities · 20% travel · 6% fuel · 34% everything else — with this card's published category rules applied: it earns nothing on fuel here, so that spend is dropped, not paid at the headline, and stops pacing milestones and the waiver. Plus milestones, minus the fee. No accelerator credit — the ranking model on /compare adds ~20% of spend at the card's best accelerator, so its ₹ for this card reads higher.
How these numbers are computed — and why the rankings show a bigger one →
Spend tiers, milestones and fee waivers included, at our house ₹/point. Portal and category multipliers can push higher — run your exact number →
Breaks even only by erasing its fee at ₹89,000 a month
At ₹89,000 a month — ₹10,68,000 a year — on the everyday mix this card returns ₹22,100 gross (earn ₹22,100) against a fee of ₹0 — the ₹25,000 is waived, the spend having cleared ₹10,00,000 a year = ₹22,100 net — the first rung at or above ₹0. The ladder runs in ₹1,000 steps to ₹1,00,000 a month and ₹10,000 steps to ₹5,00,000; figures are rounded to the hundred, and the accelerator is never credited.
3 notes on the card itself: how it is issued · the network variants · why it ranks #25
Why #25 Dropped out of the top ten, and the honest reason is that its old note was carrying the seat by itself. The claim was that the value model under-prices the exit — but the exit is TWO programmes, KrisFlyer and Maharaja Club, on a card that charges ₹25,000 and only waives it at ₹10 lakh a year. Our own score ranks it 160th among obtainable cards on that arithmetic. What the score genuinely cannot see is still real and still worth a large premium over 160th: unlimited Priority Pass at home and abroad for the add-on cardholder as well as the primary, 0% foreign-currency markup, and par transfers into two flagship programmes. That is worth the mid-twenties. It is not worth a top-ten crown, and nothing outside this file argues that it is.
Denied or downgraded? The head-to-heads: Axis Magnus for Burgundy, Axis Olympus, Axis Burgundy Private, Standard Chartered Beyond, Indus Solitaire, IndusInd Pinnacle World, IndusInd Celesta, IndusInd Indulge, IndusInd Crest, IndusInd Pioneer Legacy, IndusInd Pioneer Heritage, IndusInd Bank Nexxt Credit Card.
Best real exit: Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer at ₹1.10/pt (1:1 transfer, above house value).
The take
Every other IndusInd card converts Reward Points at a discount. PIONEER Private converts them at par — the bank's own redemption pages, linked from the card's page, print "100 Reward Points | 100 Krisflyer Miles" and "100 Reward Points | 100 Maharaja Points". Pioneer Heritage gets 2:1 on both. Legend gets 4:1. This is the only IndusInd card at 1:1, and it earns three Reward Points per ₹100 to feed them, which is 2.4% of your spend in transferable currency and three times what Heritage returns for a six-figure entry ticket. Then it takes the fee off: there is no joining charge at all, the ₹25,000 renewal is waived at ₹10 lakh of spend, and the foreign-currency markup is waived outright, along with the dynamic-currency-conversion, rent, education, fuel and transport fees. Lounge access is unlimited domestic AND unlimited international for the primary and the add-on cardholder, plus twelve free international guest visits. Golf is unlimited domestic rounds and lessons with four international rounds a year. Two Postcard Hotel nights, Taj Epicure or Club ITC Culinaire, two movie tickets a month with no price cap, and a ₹1 lakh Taj gift card if you push ₹75 lakh through it in a year. The catch is the only one that matters: you cannot apply. It is issued against PIONEER Private banking status, and if you lose that status the annual fee becomes ₹50,000 and no amount of spending waives it.
Your renewal — keep, downgrade or cancel
This card reaches break-even by ERASING its fee, not by out-earning it: the waiver is the decision.
Keep, downgrade or cancel
₹25,000/yr at stake · 5 spend bands
The charge ₹25,000/yr
The waiver ₹10,00,000 of spend in the year before renewal — about ₹83,333 a month — and the renewal fee is not charged.
Break-even ₹89,000 a month — ₹10,68,000 a year — is where this card's value crosses its fee, and it gets there by erasing the fee at the waiver rather than out-earning it.
At your spend
−₹18,800 a year, net of the fee, at ₹3,00,000 of annual spend
−₹12,600 a year, net of the fee, at ₹6,00,000 of annual spend
₹24,900 a year, net of the fee, at ₹12,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged
₹74,600 a year, net of the fee, at ₹36,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged
₹1,24,300 a year, net of the fee, at ₹60,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged
Everyday earn plus milestones, minus the fee — the same model as the value panel above, so the two cannot disagree. run your exact spend →

The downgrade
IndusInd Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and the numbers above are the whole of it.

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →
The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.
What's good
- 1:1 into Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer AND Air India Maharaja Club — the only IndusInd card at par on either
- 3 Reward Points per ₹100 on general spend, and the bank redeems a point at ₹1 as cash credit
- 0% foreign-currency markup, and no DCC, rent, education, fuel or transport fee either
- Unlimited domestic and international lounge access for BOTH primary and add-on cardholder, plus 12 free international guest visits
- No joining fee at all; the ₹25,000 renewal is waived at ₹10 lakh of annual spend
- Unlimited domestic golf rounds and lessons plus 4 international rounds a year, on ₹50,000 of prior-statement spend
Watch out
- Invite-only against PIONEER Private banking status — there is no application form and no published income cutoff
- Lose the status and the annual fee becomes ₹50,000, and the ₹10 lakh spend waiver no longer applies
- Only ONE add-on card will be issued, however many you ask for
- Transfers are capped at 10,000 Reward Points a calendar month into KrisFlyer and 25,000 into Maharaja Club
- Transport, utilities, insurance, education, telecom and government spends earn 0.7 points per ₹100, and fuel earns nothing
- Priority Pass used INSIDE India is chargeable, and the credit card used for lounges OUTSIDE India is chargeable — the two doors are not interchangeable

What earns, what doesn't
7 sourced rules · 1 pay zero
Clause 2.2 of the card's own detailed T&C is the rare thing on this shelf: a four-digit MCC list, printed by the issuer, for the reduced bucket. Base is 3 Reward Points per ₹100 — the best on the IndusInd board — and the bucket below pays 0.7. Pioneer Private is also exempt from every one of IndusInd's five 1% category fees.
- Fuel · excluded "No reward points will be earned on transactions done on fuel spends" — clause 2.3; a 1% fuel-surcharge reversal applies instead on ₹500–₹10,000 transactions, and the MITC exempts this card from the 1% fuel FEE entirely
- Rent & property management · reduced 0.7 RP/₹100 vs 3 RP/₹100 — MCC 7349 (cleaning, maintenance and janitorial services) is in clause 2.2's list; the MITC also exempts Pioneer Private from the 1% third-party-rent fee
- Utilities (electricity/water/gas) · reduced 0.7 RP/₹100 vs 3 RP/₹100 — MCC 4900; the 1% fee on utility spend above ₹25,000 a cycle still applies
- Insurance · reduced 0.7 RP/₹100 vs 3 RP/₹100 — MCCs 5960 and 6300
Does your spend count toward the fee waiver?
not published — and we say which
₹10,00,000 a year is the bar that waives the ₹25,000 fee. A different question from the one above — earning points and counting toward a threshold are separate rules, and issuers write them separately.
Not published. IndusInd Bank states what the IndusInd PIONEER Private earns and does not earn, but has not published which spend categories count toward the fee waiver and the milestones — the ₹10,00,000 bar. We won't guess it from the earn table or from a sibling card: Axis published three cards' rules on one day and all three lists differed. If you hold this card and have it in writing from the issuer, send us the document and we'll source it.

the route in — no cutoffs published
The cutoffs and the actual route in — not the "apply now" button, the door that opens.
Invite-only — there is no public application form. The bank calls you.
There is no application form. The card is issued against IndusInd's PIONEER Private banking relationship, and the fee table says so in its own way — the annual fee jumps to ₹50,000, permanently unwaivable, "in case of downgrade from Pioneer Private Status". The realistic route is to become a PIONEER Private client first and ask your relationship manager; the bank publishes no income or asset threshold for the card itself.
IndusInd Bank publishes no income or age cutoffs for this card. Blank means blank — we don't invent numbers to fill a grid.

The fine print
7 of 7 MITC rows published
What the MITC actually says — the rates, fees and cutoffs the brochure skips.
NO joining fee. Annual ₹25,000 + GST, waived on ₹10 lakh or more of spend in the last anniversary year — but the same fee row carries the sting: "₹50,000 annual fee will be charged in case of downgrade from Pioneer Private Status", with no waiver. Pioneer Private is exempt from the dynamic-currency-conversion fee, the third-party rent fee, the education-payment fee, the 1% fuel-transaction fee and the transport-transaction fee. Earn is 3 Reward Points per ₹100, 0.7 on transport, utility, insurance, education, telecom, security-broker, janitorial and government MCCs, and nothing on fuel. The Priority Pass row waives usage fees for 12 guest visits outside India and charges US$35 per person beyond them. A replacement card costs ₹5,000.

- 23 Sept 2026Axis EDGE brings Accor back, drops ITC, and adds Cathay, Miles & More and HiltonAccor and Marriott off the grid since 2 April 2026; Club ITC live; no Cathay, Miles & More or Hilton → Accor live at the punished rates; ITC removed; Cathay, Hilton and Miles & More live; Marriott still gone
Axis's own Travel EDGE terms, re-read 25 September 2026, already show the grid that went live on 23 September. Accor ALL is back, and not at the old Atlas 1:2: EDGE Miles convert at 2:1 (Olympus 1:2) and EDGE Rewards at 5:1, with Magnus for Burgundy at 5:2 and only Burgundy Private still at 5:4. Club ITC is off the table. Three partners are new. Cathay Asia Miles sits on that same punished grid. Hilton Honors is the ordinary one: EDGE Miles 1:2, EDGE Rewards 5:2, Burgundy 5:4. Lufthansa Miles & More is the exception on Atlas, which converts 1:1 there while every other standard airline on that card is 1:2; the EDGE Rewards side of Miles & More is the ordinary 5:2. Marriott stays removed. Qatar Privilege Club was already back. Flying Blue, Air India and Qantas moved into Group A, which is the capped group. The Axis Rewards credit card's Amex network is advertised as joining-fee and annual-fee nil for a limited period; there is no separate Amex variant on this board, so that offer is not modelled as a fee change.
