Priced on the everyday mix — 30% groceries · 10% utilities · 20% travel · 6% fuel · 34% everything else — with this card's published category rules applied. Plus milestones, minus the fee. No accelerator credit — the ranking model on /compare adds ~20% of spend at the card's best accelerator, so its ₹ for this card reads higher.

Pays for itself at ₹12,000 a month

At ₹12,000 a month — ₹1,44,000 a year — on the everyday mix this card returns ₹1,000 gross (earn ₹1,000) against its ₹1,000 fee = ₹0 net — the first rung at or above ₹0. The ladder runs in ₹1,000 steps to ₹1,00,000 a month and ₹10,000 steps to ₹5,00,000; figures are rounded to the hundred, and the accelerator is never credited.

Why #65 One domestic lounge visit every calendar quarter with no spend gate, for ₹1,000 and waived at ₹2,40,000 — that is the line that earns the position. Two self-chosen 5X categories sit on top of a 0.7% base, and Equitas' five-tier ladder can multiply what a Selfe point redeems for. The value model prices the base rate at the entry tier, which is the least this card pays, not the most.

The take

Selfe sits in the middle of Equitas' three-card income ladder — above Tiga (₹4,20,000–₹5,00,000 income), below PowerMiles (₹18,00,000+) — and it is the most configurable card on this desk's board: pick your network (Visa or RuPay), your card material (plastic, recycled plastic or metal), your billing date, your two OTT memberships, and — the genuinely unusual part — the two spending categories that earn 5X, from Apparel, Dining, Grocery, Utility and Taxi. The lounge line is real and unconditional: one complimentary domestic visit every calendar quarter, four a year, no spend gate. What Equitas' own page understates is the Privilege Program: all three Equitas cards sit on a shared 5-tier ladder (Blue/Silver/Gold/Platinum/Diamond), officially confirmed with real spend thresholds (Silver ₹20k/month, Gold ₹40k, Platinum ₹60k, Diamond ₹100k, each for 3 consecutive months in a quarter), and every tier above Blue pays MORE per point — a community source (CardExpert) puts Diamond at ₹1.00/point on vouchers and travel against Blue's ₹0.35, effectively turning the same 10 RP/₹100 5X rate into a 10% return instead of 3.5%. Equitas' own page never publishes that per-tier table, so this desk marks the currency at the Blue-tier rate everyone actually gets and treats Diamond as a real but unverified upside. At Blue, this is an honest, modest entry card: 0.7% base, up to 3.5% on two chosen categories, a genuine lounge quota, and a 3.5% forex markup with no discount at the base tier.

The downgrade

Equitas Small Finance Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and the numbers above are the whole of it.

If you call to cancel

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →

The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.

What's good

  • One complimentary domestic lounge visit every calendar quarter (4/year), no spend gate
  • Pick your own 2 accelerator categories from Apparel, Dining, Grocery, Utility, Taxi — no other card on this board lets the holder choose
  • Fully configurable: network, card material, billing date, 2 OTT memberships
  • Sits on Equitas' 5-tier Privilege Program shared with Tiga and PowerMiles — heavy spenders can push redemption value well past the ₹0.35 base rate this card is priced on

Watch out

  • ₹1,000 + GST a year, waived only at ₹2,40,000 of preceding-anniversary-year spend — the first year is currently free on a limited-period offer Equitas can withdraw
  • 3.5% forex markup at the base tier — no discount unless a community-reported Diamond-tier perk is real, which this desk could not verify officially
  • Grocery and Utility 5X picks cap out at 2,000 RP/month each — pick Apparel or Dining instead if you spend heavily in either capped category
  • ₹99 + GST per redemption, and points expire 24 months after earning or the whole balance is wiped on 365 days of card inactivity

What these points actually fly

No live transfer route takes Equitas Selfe Reward Points into a programme that publishes an award chart. These points buy catalogue and portal redemptions, not award seats — so this page has no flight to show you, and will not invent one.

Does your spend count toward the fee waiver?

not published — and we say which

₹2,40,000 a year is the bar that waives the ₹1,000 fee. A different question from the one above — earning points and counting toward a threshold are separate rules, and issuers write them separately.

Not published. Equitas Small Finance Bank states what the Equitas Selfe Credit Card earns, but has not published which spend categories count toward the fee waiver — the ₹2,40,000 bar. We won't guess it from the earn table or from a sibling card: Axis published three cards' rules on one day and all three lists differed. If you hold this card and have it in writing from the issuer, send us the document and we'll source it.
