What it's worth to you, after the fee
Welcome: 1,500 Zen Points (worth ₹375) — released only on payment of the ₹1,500 joining fee
Priced on the everyday mix — 30% groceries · 10% utilities · 20% travel · 6% fuel · 34% everything else — with this card's published category rules applied: it earns nothing on fuel here, so that spend is dropped, not paid at the headline, and stops pacing milestones and the waiver. Plus milestones, minus the fee. No accelerator credit — the ranking model on /compare adds ~20% of spend at the card's best accelerator, so its ₹ for this card reads higher.

Breaks even only by erasing its fee at ₹14,000 a month
At ₹14,000 a month — ₹1,68,000 a year — on the everyday mix this card returns ₹1,300 gross (earn ₹1,300) against a fee of ₹0 — the ₹1,500 is waived, the spend having cleared ₹1,50,000 a year = ₹1,300 net — the first rung at or above ₹0. The ladder runs in ₹1,000 steps to ₹1,00,000 a month and ₹10,000 steps to ₹5,00,000; figures are rounded to the hundred, and the accelerator is never credited.
1 notes on the card itself: how it is issued
Kotak brands this card's points "Zen Points", but they are the same Reward Points Program currency every other Kotak retail card earns — the Revised Cardholder Agreement lists the Zen Signature among the participating cards and prices its points at 25 paise apiece, the same catalogue rate as the house value. There is no airline or hotel transfer partner, so ₹0.25 on the catalogue is both the value and the ceiling.
The take
At ₹1,500 the Zen Signature is the cheapest way onto a Priority Pass lounge floor anywhere in Kotak's range — the White costs twice as much and the White Reserve more than eight times. What you get is three complimentary Priority Pass visits a calendar year outside India, plus two domestic visits a quarter. Then read the asterisk every comparison site drops: since 1 June 2025 those domestic visits only unlock if you put ₹75,000 through the card in the PREVIOUS calendar quarter, so the widely-quoted "8 free domestic visits" is really "8 if you spend ₹3 lakh a year in the right rhythm". The earn is ordinary — 5 Zen Points per ₹150 is 0.83% at the 25-paise catalogue rate, doubling to 1.67% on apparel, lifestyle, department stores and jewellery, with everything capped at 6,500 points a billing cycle and rent, fuel, wallet loads and gaming earning nothing at all. Buy it for the international lounge access, clear ₹1.5 lakh a year to waive the fee, and treat the points as change. At 3.5% forex it is not the card you actually spend on abroad.
Your renewal — keep, downgrade or cancel
This card reaches break-even by ERASING its fee, not by out-earning it: the waiver is the decision.
Keep, downgrade or cancel
₹1,500/yr at stake · 5 spend bands
The charge ₹1,500/yr
The waiver ₹1,50,000 of spend in the year before renewal — about ₹12,500 a month — and the renewal fee is not charged.
Break-even ₹14,000 a month — ₹1,68,000 a year — is where this card's value crosses its fee, and it gets there by erasing the fee at the waiver rather than out-earning it.
At your spend
₹2,300 a year, net of the fee, at ₹3,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged
₹6,600 a year, net of the fee, at ₹6,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged
₹13,100 a year, net of the fee, at ₹12,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged
₹23,200 a year, net of the fee, at ₹36,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged
₹23,200 a year, net of the fee, at ₹60,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged
Everyday earn plus milestones, minus the fee — the same model as the value panel above, so the two cannot disagree. run your exact spend →

The downgrade
Kotak Mahindra Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and the numbers above are the whole of it.
What has changed under this card
- 8 Sep 2026 Flying Blue splits award tickets into Light / Standard / Flex — a 25% rise for the same product a program these points reach
- 1 Jun 2025 Kotak's June-2025 fee wave washes over the premium deck issuer-wide
- 12 Feb 2025 RBI lifts Kotak's ten-month card-issuance ban issuer-wide

The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.
What's good
- 3 complimentary Priority Pass visits a calendar year outside India — for ₹1,500
- 2 domestic lounge visits a quarter, if you cleared ₹75,000 the quarter before
- 10 Zen Points per ₹150 on apparel, lifestyle, department stores and jewellery ≈ 1.67%
- 7,500 Zen Points at ₹3 lakh of annual spend and another 7,500 at ₹6 lakh — they stack
- ₹1,500 fee waives at ₹1,50,000 of annual retail spend, the lowest bar on any Kotak lounge card
Watch out
- The 8 domestic lounge visits are spend-gated since 1 Jun 2025 — ₹75,000 in a calendar quarter unlocks the next quarter's two, and an unused quarter is gone
- 0.83% everyday earn: 5 Zen Points per ₹150 at ₹0.25 a point, with no airline or hotel transfer partner anywhere
- All earn stops at 6,500 points a billing cycle — about ₹1,95,000 of base-rate spend, or half that if you shop
- Rent, fuel, wallet loads and online skill-gaming earn nothing and count toward no milestone
- Education and insurance earn only to ₹70,000 a cycle each, utilities to ₹50,000, government to ₹40,000
- The 1,500-point welcome gift is worth ₹375 against a ₹1,500 joining fee — and the fee-free programme-linked variant does not get it at all
- 3.5% forex markup, so the Priority Pass is the only reason to carry it through an airport abroad
- Priority Pass visits are primary-cardholder only; guests are US$35 a head
What these points actually fly
No live transfer route takes Kotak Reward Points into a programme that publishes an award chart. These points buy catalogue and portal redemptions, not award seats — so this page has no flight to show you, and will not invent one.

What earns, what doesn't
10 sourced rules · 4 pay zero
10 Zen Points per ₹150 on shopping (apparel, lifestyle goods, departmental stores and jewellery) and 5 per ₹150 on everything else, with a hard ceiling of 6,500 points per BILLING CYCLE across all transactions — that ceiling binds before any category cap does, at roughly ₹97,500 of shopping. The category rows below come from Kotak's dated revision table (w.e.f. 1 June 2025) and the MCCs from its own published register.
- Fuel · excluded Zero Zen Points w.e.f. 1 Jun 2025 — MCC 5172, 5541, 5542 and 5983. Kotak also charges 1% on cumulative fuel spend past ₹35,000 a statement cycle, so fuel here costs money and earns nothing
- Rent & property management · excluded Zero Zen Points w.e.f. 1 Jun 2025 — MCC 6513, plus 1% + GST as a transaction fee on every rent payment
- Wallet loads · excluded Zero Zen Points w.e.f. 1 Jun 2025 — MCC 6540, plus 1% on cumulative wallet loading past ₹10,000 a statement cycle
- Utilities (electricity/water/gas) · capped Zen Points earn only on the first ₹50,000 of utility spend a statement cycle — MCC 4900, 4814, 4899 and 4812 — and Kotak charges a 1% fee on the cumulative utility spend once it passes ₹50,000 too, so the cap and the fee start at the same rupee

Does your spend count toward the fee waiver?
7 of 15 categories answered
₹1,50,000 a year is the bar that waives the ₹1,500 fee. A different question from the one above — earning points and counting toward a threshold are separate rules, and issuers write them separately.
Put your number in
₹80,000 a month of rent & property management is ₹9,60,000 a year that counts ₹0 toward the milestones.
Kotak's revision table carries its own gate clause, verbatim: "Spends on above categories will not be considered when calculating milestone benefits." So the same eight categories that lose or cap their Zen Points also stop counting toward the 7,500-point bonus at ₹3 lakh and the 15,000 at ₹6 lakh. The annual-fee waiver is separately worded as "annual RETAIL spends of ₹1,50,000" and Kotak does not publish its exclusion list, so no `waiver` gate is claimed here.

The cutoffs and the actual route in — not the "apply now" button, the door that opens.
Direct application — no invite list, no banking relationship required.
Straightforward: the Zen Signature has a live Apply Now and a live Key Fact Statement on Kotak's MITC index, and no relationship gate. There is also a fee-free variant issued against a Kotak programme relationship — same card, no joining fee, and no 1,500-point welcome gift, because Kotak releases that gift only on realisation of the ₹1,500 charge.
Kotak Mahindra Bank publishes no income or age cutoffs for this card. Blank means blank — we don't invent numbers to fill a grid.

The fine print

What the MITC actually says — the rates, fees and cutoffs the brochure skips.
RCAS fee table verbatim: "Zen | ₹ 1,500 | ₹ 1,500 | NA | Minimum retail spend of ₹1.5 lac in a year | Waived" — joining and renewal are the same ₹1,500, so no separate commencement charge, and add-on cards are free. There is a FREE variant of this card, and it matters: the welcome gift of 1,500 Zen Points is "not available on the free card" in Kotak's own words, because it is released only against payment of the ₹1,500 joining fee. Special-category transaction fees: 1% on utility spends past ₹50,000 a statement cycle, 1% on fuel past ₹35,000, 1% on wallet loading past ₹10,000, 1% on online skill-based gaming past ₹10,000, 1% + GST on every rent transaction (MCC 6513) and 1% on education payments made through third-party apps.

- 30 Sept 2026Dream Different's unredeemed reward points expire after 30 September 2026Reward points accrued on the Dream Different Credit Card up to 31 March 2026 sitting in the account with no stated expiry date → A hard forfeiture date — "After 30th September, 2026, any unredeemed Reward Points will automatically expire"
The second half of the note that closed the programme is the part holders can still act on. Kotak's cardholder agreement gives every Dream Different point accrued up to 31 March 2026 a six-month redemption window that shuts on 30 September 2026, after which unredeemed points are forfeited outright. At the agreement's own conversion rate of 25 paise per point, a year of the card's headline 4-points-per-₹100 online earn on ₹1 lakh of online spend is roughly 4,000 points, about ₹1,000 — small money, but money that becomes zero on 1 October. Points redeem against the Kotak catalogue (flights, hotels, vouchers, merchandise) or as a statement credit through the rewards portal or the contact centre, each with its own minimum, so a last-week redemption risks missing the date on processing alone.
