What it's worth to you, after the fee

Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes how it earns — every net-value number here would be a fee subtracted from rewards nobody has described. Everything we can source — the fee, the charges, the migration that put this card in your hand — is above and stands on its own; this card is simply not on the board, not in the calculator, and cannot win a best-of call until Bank of India publishes terms we can cite.

Why #666 The same ₹500 as Bank of India's Visa Platinum, with the lounge access, the railway lounge and the streaming bundle all removed. There is no reason to hold it.

The take

This is the card its own shelf argues against. Bank of India charges ₹500 a year for the Visa Gold — the identical figure it charges for the Visa Platinum — and the Gold's page lists none of what the Platinum's does: no airport lounge visit a quarter, no railway lounge visit a quarter, no streaming membership, no insurance cover, no concierge. What is left is worldwide acceptance, EMI at point of sale through Worldline, ₹15,000 a day of ATM cash anywhere, a billing cycle that suits a salaried payer, and the same unpriced reward multiplier every Bank of India card carries. The bank's own charge schedule even bills the two tiers on one shared row, which is the clearest possible statement that the Gold is the Platinum minus the benefits. If Bank of India has already issued you one, ask for the Platinum at the same price.

Your renewal — keep, downgrade or cancel

Keep, downgrade or cancel

what we can and cannot price

Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes how it earns — every net-value number here would be a fee subtracted from rewards nobody has described. A break-even is the spend at which value crosses a fee, and we are short one side of that sentence — so this desk prints no ladder, no crossing and no ₹0 standing in for either. What we can source about this card is under Sources.

The downgrade

Bank of India publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and we cannot price either side of it.

If you call to cancel

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →

The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.

What's good

  • Accepted worldwide, with ₹15,000 a day of ATM cash at any location globally
  • EMI at point of sale on Worldline-managed terminals, whoever the acquirer is
  • Bank of India's foreign-currency conversion charge is 3%, under the 3.5% most Indian issuers charge

Watch out

  • This tier has NO lounge access at all — and BOI's Visa Platinum costs the SAME ₹500 while opening an airport lounge every quarter, a railway lounge every quarter and a streaming bundle
  • No insurance cover and no concierge are published for this card either
  • No base earn rate and no point value are published, so the reward side cannot be valued, ranked or compared
  • No spend-based fee waiver, and add-on cards cost ₹300 each
  • BOI publishes no fuel-surcharge waiver; its own schedule charges 1% on fuel transactions

What these points actually fly

Bank of India has not published what this card earns, so there are no points here to fly with — not zero points, and not points that go nowhere: nothing stated either way. The moment a benefit sheet exists we will price whatever it names.

Billed on the SAME row as the Visa Platinum — row 7, "Visa Gold /Platinum International Credit Card-Principal — Rs.500.00" — for a feature list carrying no lounge line, no insurance line and no concierge line. Same fee, none of the benefits, which is why the card files verdict: cancel against its own shelf. The product page has no BENEFITS tab at all, unlike the Platinum's.
