Priced on the everyday mix — 30% groceries · 10% utilities · 20% travel · 6% fuel · 34% everything else — with this card's published category rules applied. Plus milestones, minus the fee. No accelerator credit — the ranking model on /compare adds ~20% of spend at the card's best accelerator, so its ₹ for this card reads higher.

Pays for itself at ₹2,000 a month
At ₹2,000 a month — ₹24,000 a year — on the everyday mix this card returns ₹200 gross (earn ₹200) against its ₹199 fee = ₹0 net — the first rung at or above ₹0. The ladder runs in ₹1,000 steps to ₹1,00,000 a month and ₹10,000 steps to ₹5,00,000; figures are rounded to the hundred, and the accelerator is never credited.

The take
IndusInd's card for government-sector employees is a small, honest instrument that does exactly what it says on a ₹199 fee, and the number that matters is the ceiling rather than the rate. One per cent on retail spend sounds ordinary until you read the bank's own illustration table, which walks the reward up to ₹200 at ₹20,000 of monthly spend and then prints a ₹25,000 row at the same ₹200 to make the point: past ₹20,000 in a statement cycle the card pays nothing at all. So the cashback is worth ₹2,400 a year at full usage, and the fee reverses at ₹75,000 of anniversary-year spend — the lowest waiver bar IndusInd publishes anywhere, and one a cardholder hitting the cashback cap clears in four months. Around that sit three small, real things: two assured BookMyShow tickets a year worth ₹200 each, a 1% railway surcharge waiver on IRCTC bookings up to ₹5,000, and a 1% fuel surcharge waiver at any pump in India. It is a RuPay card, so it links to a UPI app and earns on scan-and-pay — which is the whole reason to carry it over a plain debit card. There is no lounge access, no transfer partner and nothing to optimise; IndusInd's own value chart totals the card at ₹2,760 a year and that is roughly right. Take it as a low-friction everyday card if you qualify, and put spend above ₹20,000 a month on something else.
Your renewal — keep, downgrade or cancel
Here is the fee, the spend that clears it, and everything that has moved under this card since you last decided.
Keep, downgrade or cancel
₹199/yr at stake · 5 spend bands
The charge ₹0 joining, then ₹199/yr
The waiver ₹75,000 of spend in the year before renewal — about ₹6,250 a month — and the renewal fee is not charged.
Break-even ₹2,000 a month — ₹24,000 a year — is where this card's value crosses its fee.
At your spend
₹2,400 a year, net of the fee, at ₹3,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged
₹2,400 a year, net of the fee, at ₹6,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged

₹2,400 a year, net of the fee, at ₹36,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged
₹2,400 a year, net of the fee, at ₹60,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged

The downgrade
IndusInd Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and the numbers above are the whole of it.
What has changed under this card
- 15 Jun 2026 IndusInd doubles its DCC fee to 2% on the mass shelf, and holds 1% on the premium one issuer-wide
- 25 Mar 2025 IndusInd hikes redemption fee to ₹149, caps cash-outs at 50% issuer-wide
We price what is in force today — a change that has not happened yet is not in these numbers. the full archive for this card →

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →
The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.
What's good
- 1% cashback on all retail spends, credited to the card account the following statement cycle
- Nil joining fee — the MITC prints a separate Nil joining line beside the ₹199 annual
- ₹199 annual fee reversed on ₹75,000 of spend in the last anniversary year, the lowest waiver bar in IndusInd's book
- One assured BookMyShow ticket worth up to ₹200 every six months — two a year
- 1% railway surcharge waiver on IRCTC bookings up to ₹5,000, and a 1% fuel surcharge waiver at any petrol pump in India
- Cash advance charges waived — IndusInd's MITC lists Samman among the cards that pay nothing to withdraw
- Travel insurance up to ₹2.25 lakh: ₹1,00,000 lost baggage, ₹50,000 lost passport, and ₹25,000 each for delayed baggage, lost ticket and missed connection
Watch out
- The 1% cashback is capped at ₹200 a statement cycle — only the first ₹20,000 of spend earns, and IndusInd's own table prints a ₹25,000 row at the same ₹200 to say so
- Issued to government-sector employees; the product page states the eligibility itself
- NO airport lounge access of any kind
- The cashback is a statement credit — it reaches no airline, no hotel and no transfer partner
- Interest runs 3.95% a month (47.40% a year), IndusInd's highest interest group
- The movie benefit is one ticket per six months, not per month — ₹400 a year at the ₹200 cap
What these points actually fly
No live transfer route takes Statement cashback (₹) into a programme that publishes an award chart. These points buy catalogue and portal redemptions, not award seats — so this page has no flight to show you, and will not invent one.

Does your spend count toward the fee waiver?
not published — and we say which
₹75,000 a year is the bar that waives the ₹199 fee. A different question from the one above — earning points and counting toward a threshold are separate rules, and issuers write them separately.
Not published. IndusInd Bank states what the IndusInd Samman RuPay earns, but has not published which spend categories count toward the fee waiver — the ₹75,000 bar. We won't guess it from the earn table or from a sibling card: Axis published three cards' rules on one day and all three lists differed. If you hold this card and have it in writing from the issuer, send us the document and we'll source it.

Direct application — no invite list, no banking relationship required.
Openly advertised with a live Apply Now on IndusInd's product page and a slot in the bank's own credit-card nav, but the card is positioned for government-sector employees and the product page says so in its opening line. It is the live successor to the Platinum Aura Edge Credit Card (For Government Sector), which the same MITC names in its discontinued list while still carrying that card's differentiated interest rate and railway-surcharge waiver — the two share the government-sector positioning and the 1% IRCTC waiver capped at ₹5,000.
IndusInd Bank publishes no income or age cutoffs for this card. Blank means blank — we don't invent numbers to fill a grid.

- 1 Jul 2026Pioneer Legacy's quarterly lounge visit now costs ₹1.5 lakh of spend1 complimentary domestic lounge visit a quarter, no spend condition → From the Jul–Sep 2026 quarter, the visit unlocks only on ₹1,50,000 of previous-quarter spend
The spend-tracking regime IndusInd switched on in April now bites: from the July–September 2026 quarter, Pioneer Legacy's single complimentary domestic lounge visit is granted only if you put ₹1.5 lakh through the card the quarter before. Legacy sits in the same ₹1.5L tier as Pinnacle; Indulge, Solitaire and Crest need ₹5 lakh for theirs. The gate covers the domestic visit — the Priority Pass international allowance isn't part of this condition. On a private-banking card with a ₹50,000 retail joining fee, spend-gating one lounge visit a quarter is a remarkably small door to put a toll on, and IndusInd did it anyway.

A year after halving Legend's lounge visits, IndusInd came back and took the rest. From 7 March 2025 the card offers no complimentary lounge access, domestic or otherwise — on a product still marketed with a ₹5,000 joining fee.
