What it's worth to you, after the fee
Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes how it earns — every net-value number here would be a fee subtracted from rewards nobody has described. Everything we can source — the fee, the charges, the migration that put this card in your hand — is above and stands on its own; this card is simply not on the board, not in the calculator, and cannot win a best-of call until Axis Bank publishes terms we can cite.
Why we decline to value some cards, and what it takes to change that →
3 notes on the card itself: how it is issued · the network variants · why it ranks #833
Why #833 Carried, not valued. A free legacy card whose points Axis's own Travel EDGE list confirms can reach an airline — and for which the bank has never printed a rate. The fee is sourced, the earn is not, so it sits off the ranked board rather than being scored on a number nobody published.
The take
VISA Gold is what an Indian bank's back catalogue looks like when you read the regulatory filing instead of the website. Axis's Key Fact Sheet carries a table headed "Legacy Cards" with nine columns; six of them — Buzz, My Wings, My Choice, Titanium, Platinum, Signature, Infinite — are cards this desk already ranks. Two are not, because they appear nowhere else in Axis's published documents: VISA Gold and VISA Silver. The fee column for this one reads INR 0. Two other facts survive. The interest rate is the ordinary Axis band — 3.75% a month, 55.55% a year — so unlike the bank's secured family this card buys no discount on revolving credit; it is free to hold and expensive to borrow on. And it is on Axis's Travel EDGE eligible-cards list under the name "VISA GOLD Card", which means whatever EDGE REWARD Points it accrues can be moved to an airline partner. That is the difference between a rewards card and a discount card, and more than several priced Axis cards manage. What is missing is the rate. Axis has never printed how many points this card earns, or what one is worth on it, so nothing is claimed here — and the EDGE grid's headline 5:2 ratio belongs to the Select, Privilege and Rewards column, not to a free legacy Gold card. There is no product page under any spelling, no lounge quota in a programme that names its eligible cards individually, and no welcome benefit. If you still hold one, the useful thing to know is that the points are transferable; the useful thing to ask Axis is how many you are getting.

Keep, downgrade or cancel
what we can and cannot price
Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes how it earns — every net-value number here would be a fee subtracted from rewards nobody has described. A break-even is the spend at which value crosses a fee, and we are short one side of that sentence — so this desk prints no ladder, no crossing and no ₹0 standing in for either. What we can source about this card is under Sources.

The downgrade
Axis Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and we cannot price either side of it.

- 23 Sep 2026 Axis EDGE brings Accor back, drops ITC, and adds Cathay, Miles & More and Hilton issuer-wide
- 28 Aug 2026 Axis more than doubles its DCC markup — 3.5% generic, but Olympus and Magnus get their own rates issuer-wide
- 28 Aug 2026 Priority Pass stops opening Indian domestic lounges on every Axis card issuer-wide

If you call to cancel
What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →
The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.
What's good
- Annual fee ₹0 — printed as INR 0 in the Key Fact Sheet's Legacy Cards table
- On Axis's Travel EDGE eligible-cards list, so the EDGE REWARD Points it accrues can reach an airline partner
- One of only two Legacy Cards columns Axis prices nowhere else — the other seven are cards this board already carries
Watch out
- WITHDRAWN — Axis files this card under "Legacy Cards" in its own Key Fact Sheet, and its sitemap carries no product URL for it under any spelling
- AXIS PUBLISHES NO REWARD RATE for this card — no rate is claimed here, and no reward currency is attached
- TRAVEL EDGE ELIGIBILITY IS NOT A RATIO: the grid's 5:2 rate belongs to the Select, Privilege and Rewards column, which a free legacy Gold card is not in
- Interest is the ordinary 3.75% a month (55.55% a year) — being free to hold buys nothing off the revolving rate
- No lounge access: Axis's domestic lounge programme names its Set A and Set B cards individually and this is on neither
- No product page exists on axis.bank.in under any spelling — the card survives only in the fee and interest tables
- Forex 3.50% — the Indian norm; the card is in none of the reduced-markup rows Axis names
- Axis's whole T&C schedule was revised with effect from 28 August 2026; re-read the current documents before relying on any of this
What these points actually fly
Axis Bank has not published what this card earns, so there are no points here to fly with — not zero points, and not points that go nowhere: nothing stated either way. The moment a benefit sheet exists we will price whatever it names.

Closed to new applications — existing cardholders keep the card; there is no way in.
You cannot. Axis's sitemap enumerates every credit-card URL the bank serves — including unmarketed legacy products such as My Zone Easy, Privilege Easy and Titanium Smart Traveller — and carries no VISA Gold URL of any spelling. Axis files the card under "Legacy Cards" in its own Key Fact Sheet, which is the bank saying so. Existing holders keep the card and its ₹0 fee.
Axis Bank publishes no income or age cutoffs for this card. Blank means blank — we don't invent numbers to fill a grid.

- 15 Nov 2026The Reserve's memberships stop renewing unless you say yesClub ITC Culinaire, Accorplus, handcrafted Club Marriott Asia Pacific, EazyDiner Prime and Priority Pass renewed automatically each year for as long as the card was open → From 15 Nov 2026 complimentary memberships linked to the card renew only with the cardholder's explicit consent — Axis says renewal and consent details will be shared closer to each renewal date. The same notice flips Priority Pass off at Indian domestic lounges from 28 Aug 2026 (present the Reserve card itself) and adds a ₹1,300 late-payment slab above ₹50,000 outstanding
The Reserve's whole defence of a ₹50,000 fee is the membership stack — Club ITC Culinaire with its free third night, Accorplus, handcrafted Club Marriott Asia Pacific, EazyDiner Prime, and the unlimited Priority Pass. Axis's own Reserve revision notice says that from 15 November none of them renew unless you actively consent. Framed as a choice, it works as breakage: the failure mode of an opt-in is silence, and a cardholder who misses the renewal email keeps paying ₹50,000 for a card whose benefits have quietly lapsed. Reserve is on the same list as Select, Magnus, Magnus for Burgundy, Burgundy Private, Olympus and both Miles & More cards, so this is the whole Axis premium book learning the same trick. Two other things ride the notice: from 28 August the Priority Pass card stops opening Indian domestic lounges — you present the Reserve itself against Axis's own eligible-lounge list, and post-immigration lounges at Indian international terminals still count as international — and a fifth late-payment slab of ₹1,300 appears above ₹50,000 outstanding. Notably, the Reserve notice carries no dynamic-currency-conversion line at all while the bank-wide grid goes 1.5% → 3.5%, and the card's 1.5% foreign transaction fee is untouched.

- 23 Sept 2026Axis EDGE brings Accor back, drops ITC, and adds Cathay, Miles & More and HiltonAccor and Marriott off the grid since 2 April 2026; Club ITC live; no Cathay, Miles & More or Hilton → Accor live at the punished rates; ITC removed; Cathay, Hilton and Miles & More live; Marriott still gone
Axis's own Travel EDGE terms, re-read 25 September 2026, already show the grid that went live on 23 September. Accor ALL is back, and not at the old Atlas 1:2: EDGE Miles convert at 2:1 (Olympus 1:2) and EDGE Rewards at 5:1, with Magnus for Burgundy at 5:2 and only Burgundy Private still at 5:4. Club ITC is off the table. Three partners are new. Cathay Asia Miles sits on that same punished grid. Hilton Honors is the ordinary one: EDGE Miles 1:2, EDGE Rewards 5:2, Burgundy 5:4. Lufthansa Miles & More is the exception on Atlas, which converts 1:1 there while every other standard airline on that card is 1:2; the EDGE Rewards side of Miles & More is the ordinary 5:2. Marriott stays removed. Qatar Privilege Club was already back. Flying Blue, Air India and Qantas moved into Group A, which is the capped group. The Axis Rewards credit card's Amex network is advertised as joining-fee and annual-fee nil for a limited period; there is no separate Amex variant on this board, so that offer is not modelled as a fee change.
