Priced on the everyday mix — 30% groceries · 10% utilities · 20% travel · 6% fuel · 34% everything else — with this card's published category rules applied. Plus milestones, minus the fee. No accelerator credit — the ranking model on /compare adds ~20% of spend at the card's best accelerator, so its ₹ for this card reads higher.

Pays for itself at ₹17,000 a month

At ₹17,000 a month — ₹2,04,000 a year — on the everyday mix this card returns ₹1,500 gross (earn ₹1,500) against its ₹1,499 fee = ₹0 net — the first rung at or above ₹0. The ladder runs in ₹1,000 steps to ₹1,00,000 a month and ₹10,000 steps to ₹5,00,000; figures are rounded to the hundred, and the accelerator is never credited.

The take

Cashback Plus is the ₹1,499 version of YES's ₹999 cashback card, and the difference is smaller than the gap in the fee. The 5% rungs are identical — movies and groceries above ₹500, utility bills on a standing instruction, each capped at ₹100 a statement cycle, ₹2,400 a year between them. What the extra ₹500 buys is a base rate of 0.75% instead of 0.50% on everything else except fuel. That crossover is easy to compute and it is not flattering: 0.25 points of extra base rate covers ₹500 of extra fee at ₹2 lakh of eligible annual spend, and only then if you were going to hold one of the two anyway. Neither fee waives — the MITC prints "Not Applicable" in both waiver columns for both cards. Utilities cap at ₹750 a cycle and stop earning above ₹15,000 of utility spend in a cycle; fuel earns nothing; forex is 3.50%. If you want a flat cashback card, the cap-free question is whether 0.75% minus a ₹1,499 fee beats a lifetime-free 1% card, and on this board it usually does not.

The downgrade

YES Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and the numbers above are the whole of it.

What has changed under this card

  • 15 Jun 2026 YES's ₹100 redemption fee reaches Marquee and Reserv issuer-wide
  • 15 Jun 2026 YES Bank raises forex on almost every card it sells — SELECT takes 75 basis points in one step issuer-wide
  • 1 Apr 2025 YES lounge gate triples to ₹1 lakh on Marquee and Reserv issuer-wide

If you call to cancel

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →

The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.

What's good

  • 0.75% cashback on everything except fuel — the highest uncapped flat rate on the YES cashback shelf
  • 5% on movies and groceries above ₹500 a transaction, and on utility bills paid by standing instruction

Watch out

  • Each 5% rung caps at ₹100 a statement cycle — the headline is worth ₹2,400 a year, exactly as on the ₹999 tier
  • The MITC prints Not Applicable in both waiver columns: ₹1,499 every year whatever you spend
  • Utility cashback caps at ₹750 a cycle and stops entirely above ₹15,000 of utility spend in a cycle
  • The 5% movie and grocery rung needs a transaction above ₹500; below that it pays 0.75%
  • Fuel earns nothing at all
  • Forex is 3.50% since 15-Jun-2026, plus 1% dynamic currency conversion
  • No lounge access — absent from the MITC's domestic lounge threshold table

What these points actually fly

No live transfer route takes Statement cashback (₹) into a programme that publishes an award chart. These points buy catalogue and portal redemptions, not award seats — so this page has no flight to show you, and will not invent one.

The fine print

7 of 7 MITC rows published

What the MITC actually says — the rates, fees and cutoffs the brochure skips.

Forex markup 3.50% + GST w.e.f. 15-Jun-2026 (3.40% before that revision), plus a separate 1% DCC markup on INR-billed foreign transactions
APR 3.99%/mo (47.88%/yr) on revolving credit, cash advances and overdue amounts — the MITC's “Other Credit Cards” tier
Late fee Nil while the current outstanding (statement balance plus unbilled) is ₹500 or less; above that, 10% of the statement balance or ₹1,350, whichever is LOWER, per statement
Cash advance 2.5% or ₹650, whichever is higher, w.e.f. 15-Jun-2026 — the floor was ₹500 before that; billed in the next statement and accruing finance charges from the withdrawal date
Add-on card Nil
Overlimit ₹550 + GST flat on any transaction that exceeds the assigned limit; the overlimit facility was reintroduced 1-Jun-2026 and is granted on the bank’s own risk view
Redemption fee Not applicable — the MITC charges the ₹100 + GST redemption fee only on a card that offers reward points as a feature, and this one pays cash

Joining and annual membership fee both ₹1,499 + GST, with “Not Applicable” in both waiver columns — no spend threshold releases either charge, the same unusual shape as the plain Cashback card at ₹999. It shares the fee with Wellness Plus, which does get a domestic-lounge row at ₹50,000 of prior-quarter spend; Cashback Plus does not appear in that table at all. The forex markup rose from 3.40% to 3.50% on 15-Jun-2026. Utility spends attract 1% + GST past ₹25,000 in the previous calendar month.

The exemption that let Marquee and Reserv holders pretend the ₹100 redemption fee was someone else's problem is gone. From 15 June 2026 every YES card pays ₹100 per redemption request, and booking a flight through YES Rewardz — the only place the points are worth their ₹0.25 — stacks a ₹99 booking fee on top. On a card whose whole pitch is settling 4.5% online earnings in portal travel, YES now charges you twice at the exit.
