Priced on the everyday mix — 30% groceries · 10% utilities · 20% travel · 6% fuel · 34% everything else — with this card's published category rules applied. Plus milestones, minus the fee. No accelerator credit — the ranking model on /compare adds ~20% of spend at the card's best accelerator, so its ₹ for this card reads higher.

Breaks even only by erasing its fee at ₹9,000 a month

At ₹9,000 a month — ₹1,08,000 a year — on the everyday mix this card returns ₹300 gross (earn ₹300) against a fee of ₹0 — the ₹2,000 is waived, the spend having cleared ₹1,00,000 a year = ₹300 net — the first rung at or above ₹0. The ladder runs in ₹1,000 steps to ₹1,00,000 a month and ₹10,000 steps to ₹5,00,000; figures are rounded to the hundred, and the accelerator is never credited.

The take

PNB's second EaseMyTrip co-brand (after Standard Chartered's) is built entirely around transaction-time discounts, not accrual: flat 10% off domestic flights (capped ₹1,000), 10% off international flights (capped ₹5,000), 20% off domestic hotels (capped ₹5,000) and 20% off international hotels (capped ₹10,000), all with no minimum order value but throttled to four discounted bookings a card a month. That is a genuinely useful shape for someone who books through EaseMyTrip anyway — the caps mean a single ₹25,000 international fare nets the full ₹5,000 off. The everyday earn is thin but it is not nothing, which this file wrongly said until 2026-08-23: EMT.html declares the card a RuPay Platinum, and PNB's Rewardz page pays that variant 1 point per ₹100 — 0.25% at the 25 paise PNB's own MITC puts on a point. What PNB does NOT publish for this specific card is a forex markup or a lounge quota and network, so "Complimentary Domestic & International Airport Lounge Access" is a claim we cannot size — treat it as a maybe, not a benefit to bank on. On the fees, read the footnotes in the right order: the ₹2,000 annual fee needs ₹1 lakh of the PRECEDING year's spend to fall away, which a first-year applicant cannot yet have, but the ₹2,000 joining fee is REIMBURSED outright once spends pass ₹1.5 lakh inside three billing cycles — so a heavy EaseMyTrip booker can get year one back. Cheaper than most co-brands to try, and the cheapest EaseMyTrip card we carry — but this is a coupon book with a quarter-percent floor, not a points engine.

Your renewal — keep, downgrade or cancel

This card reaches break-even by ERASING its fee, not by out-earning it: the waiver is the decision.

₹1,00,000 annual spend erases that fee
₹9,000/mo is where the waiver, not the earn, saves it

Keep, downgrade or cancel

₹2,000/yr at stake · 5 spend bands

The charge ₹2,000/yr

The waiver ₹1,00,000 of spend in the year before renewal — about ₹8,333 a month — and the renewal fee is not charged.

Break-even ₹9,000 a month — ₹1,08,000 a year — is where this card's value crosses its fee, and it gets there by erasing the fee at the waiver rather than out-earning it.

At your spend

₹800 a year, net of the fee, at ₹3,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged

₹1,500 a year, net of the fee, at ₹6,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged

₹3,000 a year, net of the fee, at ₹12,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged

₹9,000 a year, net of the fee, at ₹36,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged

₹15,000 a year, net of the fee, at ₹60,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged

The downgrade

Punjab National Bank / EaseMyTrip publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and the numbers above are the whole of it.

If you call to cancel

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →

The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.

What's good

  • Flat 10–20% off flights and hotels on EaseMyTrip, both domestic and international, with no minimum order value
  • Welcome pack worth ₹3,000 in flight/hotel/holiday vouchers on issuance
  • Cheaper joining/annual fee (₹2,000/₹2,000) than most bank-OTA co-brands
  • Complimentary domestic & international airport lounge access is claimed on the product page
  • The ₹2,000 joining fee is reimbursed outright once spends pass ₹1.5 lakh within three billing cycles

Watch out

  • The base rate is on PNB's Rewardz programme page, not this card's — EMT.html names the variant (RuPay Platinum) and the programme page rates that BIN at 1 point per ₹100
  • No forex markup and no lounge quota/network published anywhere on PNB's page for this card
  • Discounts cap at 4 transactions per card per month, and the ₹2,000 ANNUAL fee waiver needs ₹1L of the PRECEDING year's spend — unreachable in year one (the JOINING fee is the reimbursable one)
  • The lounge line has no stated visit count — do not assume it behaves like a quantified quota

What these points actually fly

No live transfer route takes PNB Reward Points into a programme that publishes an award chart. These points buy catalogue and portal redemptions, not award seats — so this page has no flight to show you, and will not invent one.

What earns, what doesn't

2 sourced rules · 1 pay zero

PNB publishes NO merchant-category exclusion list for any card on its shelf — not on the product pages, not in the Key Fact Statement, not in the MITC, which mentions merchant categories only to reserve the bank's right to BLOCK a card transacting on restricted MCCs. So this row states the two deviations PNB does document and nothing else; every other category answers "not published" rather than a guess.

EMI conversions / merchant EMI excluded — No points survive an EMI conversion — PNB's MITC states it bank-wide: "On availing the EMI facility, reward points if any that have been accrued on the original transaction shall be reversed." PNB charges 2% of the transaction (min ₹100 instant / ₹200 Easy Pay) to convert, and 12–18%/yr on the instalments

Does your spend count toward the fee waiver?

not published — and we say which

₹1,00,000 a year is the bar that waives the ₹2,000 fee. A different question from the one above — earning points and counting toward a threshold are separate rules, and issuers write them separately.

Not published. Punjab National Bank / EaseMyTrip states what the PNB EMT RuPay Platinum earns and does not earn, but has not published which spend categories count toward the fee waiver — the ₹1,00,000 bar. We won't guess it from the earn table or from a sibling card: Axis published three cards' rules on one day and all three lists differed. If you hold this card and have it in writing from the issuer, send us the document and we'll source it.

The fine print

7 of 7 MITC rows published

What the MITC actually says — the rates, fees and cutoffs the brochure skips.

Forex markup 3.5% over and above the currency conversion rate — PNB's nil-markup carve-out names only the two LUXURA metal cards
APR 2.95%/mo (35.89%/yr); 1.5%/mo (19.56%/yr) on a card issued against a PNB fixed-deposit lien
Late fee Slabbed on the total amount due: Nil up to ₹1,000; ₹500 on ₹1,001–₹5,000; ₹600 on ₹5,001–₹10,000; ₹750 above ₹10,000
Cash advance 2% of the amount, min ₹100 at PNB ATMs / ₹150 at other ATMs / ₹250 overseas
Add-on card Nil — joining, annual and renewal are all Nil on an add-on
Overlimit 2.5% of the overlimit amount, min ₹500 (min ₹250 on a card issued against a fixed deposit)
Redemption fee None published — but a redemption needs at least 1,000 points, and points expire 3 years from the date of accrual

₹2,000 to join and ₹2,000 a year, the annual fee waived above ₹1 lakh of the PRECEDING year's spend — a bar a first-year applicant cannot have cleared. The joining charge is the recoverable one: the Key Fact Statement's footnote reads "Joining fee will be reimbursed if total spends on the card exceed ₹1.5 lakh within three billing cycles from the date of issuance of card" (₹1 lakh for staff). Credit limit ₹50,000–₹5,00,000. This is a discount card first — but not a zero-earn one: EMT.html calls the card a RuPay Platinum and PNB's Rewardz page rates that variant at 1 point per ₹100, a flat 0.25% at the 25 paise the MITC puts on a point, on top of the 300+ points on activation. What it really sells is a coupon grid with no minimum order value — flat 10% off domestic flights (capped ₹1,000), 10% off international flights (capped ₹5,000), 20% off domestic hotels (capped ₹5,000), 20% off international hotels (capped ₹10,000) and ₹125 off bus bookings above ₹500 — throttled to four discounted transactions per card per month. Welcome is ₹3,000 of EaseMyTrip vouchers split ₹500 flights / ₹1,000 hotels / ₹1,500 holidays. Personal accident and total-disability cover ₹2 lakh. "Complimentary Domestic & International Airport Lounge Access" is claimed with no count, guest policy or network. Fuel surcharge waiver 1% (min ₹12.50) on fills above ₹500 and below ₹4,000, capped ₹250 a billing cycle.
