No accelerator credit — the ranking model on /compare adds ~20% of spend at the card's best accelerator, so its ₹ for this card reads higher.

Pays for itself at ₹13,000 a month

At ₹13,000 a month — ₹1,56,000 a year — on the everyday mix this card returns ₹500 gross (earn ₹500) against its ₹500 fee = ₹0 net — the first rung at or above ₹0. The ladder runs in ₹1,000 steps to ₹1,00,000 a month and ₹10,000 steps to ₹5,00,000; figures are rounded to the hundred, and the accelerator is never credited.

Visa

Why #529 The top of PNB's non-Signature Visa shelf and the only rung where the earn actually moves: 2 points per ₹150 instead of 1 per ₹100, which is a third of a per cent rather than a quarter. It ranks on that, on a ₹10,00,000 limit and on a 24×7 concierge — not on lounge access, which this card does not have.

The take

Platinum is the rung where PNB's Visa shelf finally earns differently. Classic and Gold both pay one point per ₹100; this card pays two per ₹150, which PNB's own product page states as a comparison — "Two points on every retail transaction of Rs.150/- made on Platinum card as against 2 points for retail purchase of Rs 200 on other cards". At the 25 paise the MITC assigns a point that is a third of a per cent instead of a quarter. It is still not a good rate. It is the best one on this shelf below the Signature. What else the ₹500 buys: a credit limit sanctioned between ₹50,000 and ₹10,00,000, twice Gold's ceiling; a 24×7 global concierge desk that PNB actually staffs with a phone number, covering dining reservations, airline and hotel bookings, passport and visa assistance, gifting and roadside and medical emergencies; a year-end summary statement; and priority customer care. Nothing to pay to take the card out — the MITC prints NIL against the joining fee — and the annual ₹500 is waivable on the same three-condition test Gold uses: a year's usage greater than your own credit limit, a retail transaction in every calendar quarter, and an account that has never been irregular. On a ₹10,00,000 limit the first condition is not a bar, it is a wall. Two things this card does not have, and a reader should not assume from the word Platinum. There is no lounge access — the product page lists concierge and rewards and stops, and the fee schedule mentions no lounge programme. And the add-on cards cost ₹500 each per year, where Classic and Gold hand out two for nothing. Forex is PNB's standard 3.50%; the nil-markup benefit belongs to the LUXURA metal cards. The points still go to the Rewardz catalogue or statement cashback and nowhere else — no airline, no hotel, no program hop exists on this currency at all.

The downgrade

Punjab National Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and the numbers above are the whole of it.

If you call to cancel

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →

The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.

What's good

  • 2 Reward Points per ₹150 — 1.33 points per ₹100, a third of a per cent at the MITC's 25 paise a point, against a quarter on Classic and Gold
  • 24×7 global concierge desk on a published number, covering dining, airline and hotel booking, passport and visa assistance, and emergency medical and roadside help
  • Credit limit from ₹50,000 to ₹10,00,000 — twice Gold's ceiling
  • Nothing to take the card out: PNB's MITC prints NIL against the joining fee
  • Year-end summary statement of account and priority customer-care routing
  • 1% fuel surcharge waiver, minimum ₹10, on fills above ₹500 and below ₹4,000
  • 20 to 50 interest-free days on retail purchases when the previous month cleared in full

Watch out

  • No lounge access — the product page lists concierge and rewards and nothing else, and the fee schedule names no lounge programme. Platinum is a Visa TIER here, not a quota
  • Add-on cards cost ₹500 each per year, where PNB's Classic and Gold give two away free
  • The annual-fee waiver's first condition is a year's usage greater than YOUR OWN credit limit — on a ₹10,00,000 sanction that is ₹10,00,000 of spend
  • All three waiver conditions must hold together, and the quarterly transaction must be retail — fuel and cash withdrawals do not count
  • Over-limit, cheque-return, replacement and PIN charges are all double the Classic/Gold rate: ₹500 minimum over-limit, ₹200 cheque return, ₹200 card replacement, ₹100 PIN
  • 3.50% forex markup — PNB's nil-markup benefit belongs to the LUXURA metal cards alone
  • pnb-reward-points has zero ways out; the catalogue or statement cashback is the only exit, and redemption needs 1,000 points
  • PNB contradicts itself on the point value: the Rewardz page says 50 paise, the MITC says 25 and converts a negative balance at 25. This desk prices the MITC

What these points actually fly

No live transfer route takes PNB Reward Points into a programme that publishes an award chart. These points buy catalogue and portal redemptions, not award seats — so this page has no flight to show you, and will not invent one.

Branch application or PNB's card portal at pnbcard.in. The sanctioned limit decides both what this card is worth over the ₹300 Gold and whether its fee waiver is reachable at all, so ask for the figure before accepting. PNB's Signature sits one rung up, earns 2 points per ₹100, and waives its annual fee on ₹3,00,000 of spend — a flat number rather than this card's moving one — but it is the only Visa on the shelf that charges to take out at all.

Punjab National Bank publishes no income or age cutoffs for this card. Blank means blank — we don't invent numbers to fill a grid.
