What it's worth to you, after the fee
Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes how it earns — every net-value number here would be a fee subtracted from rewards nobody has described. Everything we can source — the fee, the charges, the migration that put this card in your hand — is above and stands on its own; this card is simply not on the board, not in the calculator, and cannot win a best-of call until SBI Card publishes terms we can cite.

The take
Everything SBI branded "Advantage" was sold at a branch against a fixed deposit, and this is the plainest example on the shelf: the SBI Gold Credit Card, secured. Put the two product pages side by side and only three lines differ, but all three are the reasons to want it. Finance charges run at 1.99% a month — 23.88% a year — against the 3.35% a month, 40.2% a year, that SBI charged on the unsecured Gold. The cash advance limit is 100% of the credit limit rather than 80%. And the card "can be availed on the basis of a Fixed Deposit with State Bank Group", which is how someone with no bureau file got either of those numbers. What you did not get was a rewards programme. SBI published none for this card across five years of captures, so we carry it unvalued rather than invent a rate — which makes the ₹299 a year, reversed at ₹25,000 of spend, a pure price of admission to a credit line. As a credit-building instrument at 1.99% a month it was genuinely good value in 2011. As a card to hold today it does not exist, and SBI Card Unnati does the same job for free.

Keep, downgrade or cancel
what we can and cannot price
Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes how it earns — every net-value number here would be a fee subtracted from rewards nobody has described. A break-even is the spend at which value crosses a fee, and we are short one side of that sentence — so this desk prints no ladder, no crossing and no ₹0 standing in for either. What we can source about this card is under Sources.

The downgrade
SBI Card publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and we cannot price either side of it.

- 31 Mar 2026 SBI kills both Etihad Guest co-brands and force-swaps holders into MILES issuer-wide

The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.
What's good
- 1.99% a month (23.88% a year) — against the 3.35% a month SBI charged on the unsecured Gold Credit Card of the same era
- Cash advance limit of 100% of the credit limit, where the unsecured twin stopped at 80%
- Issued against a fixed deposit with the State Bank Group, so it opened a credit line to an applicant with no bureau file
- ₹299 a year, reversed if the preceding year's spends passed ₹25,000
Watch out
- SBI published NO reward rate, currency or redemption route for this card on any capture from 2010 to 2015 — we will not print a rate it never stated
- Withdrawn — absent from SBI's 67-record product catalogue and from its 92-row MITC fee table
- Your money is the collateral: the card is issued against a State Bank Group fixed deposit
- No fuel surcharge waiver — the page prices petrol at 2.5% of the transaction, minimum ₹10, with no reversal clause
- 3.5% foreign-currency markup
- No lounge access of any kind; no capture carries a lounge clause
- The ₹25,000 fee reversal is stated only on the 2010 capture — later ones keep the footnote marker and drop the footnote
What these points actually fly
SBI Card has not published what this card earns, so there are no points here to fly with — not zero points, and not points that go nowhere: nothing stated either way. The moment a benefit sheet exists we will price whatever it names.

Does your spend count toward the fee waiver?
not published — and we say which
₹25,000 a year is the bar that waives the ₹299 fee. A different question from the one above — earning points and counting toward a threshold are separate rules, and issuers write them separately.
Not published. SBI Card states what the SBI Advantage Gold Card earns, but has not published which spend categories count toward the fee waiver — the ₹25,000 bar. We won't guess it from the earn table or from a sibling card: Axis published three cards' rules on one day and all three lists differed. If you hold this card and have it in writing from the issuer, send us the document and we'll source it.

the route in — no cutoffs published
The cutoffs and the actual route in — not the "apply now" button, the door that opens.
Closed to new applications — existing cardholders keep the card; there is no way in.
You cannot. The product page was branch-only — "Apply Now! To know more about the SBI Advantage Gold Card, please contact your nearest SBI Branch" — and it is archive-only today. SBI's live secured shelf is SBI Card Unnati, issued against a fixed deposit with no joining fee and a renewal only from the fifth year, and SBI Card PRIME NRI Secured at ₹1,500; both are on this board.
SBI Card publishes no income or age cutoffs for this card. Blank means blank — we don't invent numbers to fill a grid.

- 3 Aug 2026SBI drops Etihad Guest from the MILES transfer table — the last SBI door into the programmeSBI Card Travel Credits transferred 1:1 into Etihad Guest, one of eighteen airline partners in §3 of the MILES rewards T&C. At the ₹1/partner-mile anchor that was a full-value exit, and it was the only route left after the two Etihad Guest SBI co-brands were retired. → No Etihad route at all. The MILES rewards T&C now lists seventeen airline partners and Etihad is not one of them — the word does not appear anywhere in the seven-page document. Every other SBI partner survives at the same ratio.
SBI Card's own MILES rewards T&C, re-fetched on 22 August 2026 and carrying a 3 August 2026 ModDate inside the PDF, has one fewer airline in it than the edition this desk read on 2 August. The deletion is provable from the numbering rather than from absence alone: the table's first seven rows are unchanged (Air Canada 3, Air France-KLM 4, Air India 5, British Airways 6, Cathay 7), and every row from position eight onward has moved up exactly one — Thai from 14 to 13, Qantas from 17 to 16. Position eight was Etihad Airways / Etihad Guest / 1:1. All twenty-four other partners we carry, airline and hotel, are still there at the same ratios, so this is Etihad being dropped and not SBI narrowing transfers. The timing matters more than the ratio. SBI phased out the Etihad Guest SBI and Etihad Guest SBI Premier cards from December 2025 and reissued holders onto MILES products, and the transfer route was what made that migration survivable — a Premier holder who had spent six years earning Etihad miles could keep feeding the same account through Travel Credits. That is now closed, and India's remaining pipes into Etihad Guest run through BOBCARD's Etihad co-brands, not through SBI. If you hold SBI Travel Credits earmarked for an Abu Dhabi business seat, they are Aeroplan, Flying Blue, Avios or Maharaja points now. ON THE DATE: SBI publishes no notice and no cut-off. The date here is the day the desk read the change out of SBI's own document; the PDF's internal ModDate puts the edition at 3 August 2026, which is the earliest day we can prove, not an announcement.
