Welcome: 4,000 Reward Points on paying the fee and spending ₹2,000 within 30 days of issuance — first-year-free cards get nothing

Priced on the everyday mix — 30% groceries · 10% utilities · 20% travel · 6% fuel · 34% everything else — with this card's published category rules applied: it earns nothing on utilities and fuel here, so that spend is dropped, not paid at the headline, and stops pacing milestones and the waiver. Plus milestones, minus the fee. No accelerator credit — the ranking model on /compare adds ~20% of spend at the card's best accelerator, so its ₹ for this card reads higher.

Breaks even only by erasing its fee at ₹10,000 a month

At ₹10,000 a month — ₹1,20,000 a year — on the everyday mix this card returns ₹300 gross (earn ₹300) against a fee of ₹0 — the ₹999 is waived, the spend having cleared ₹1,00,000 a year = ₹300 net — the first rung at or above ₹0. The ladder runs in ₹1,000 steps to ₹1,00,000 a month and ₹10,000 steps to ₹5,00,000; figures are rounded to the hundred, and the accelerator is never credited.

The take

Platinum Plus is the mid rung of RBL's legacy shelf: 1 Reward Point per ₹100 flat, doubled to 2 on anything you buy online, a 4,000-point welcome, a BookMyShow buy-one-get-one worth up to ₹200 on any Monday-to-Friday, and a ₹100 monthly fuel-surcharge waiver. RBL adds it up to ₹9,499 a year, but ₹3,000 of that total is two complimentary lounge visits the bank discontinued on 1 July 2025 and never removed from the page — read the total as ₹6,499 and the earn as 0.25%, or 0.5% on the online slice up to whatever the unexplained 1,000-point cap turns out to mean. The saving grace is the waiver: ₹1 lakh of eligible spend in a year and the ₹999 comes back. Below that, this is a card you are paying to hold.

Your renewal — keep, downgrade or cancel

This card reaches break-even by ERASING its fee, not by out-earning it: the waiver is the decision.

₹1,00,000 annual spend erases that fee
₹10,000/mo is where the waiver, not the earn, saves it

the whole desk — your spend, what changed, the downgrade →

Keep, downgrade or cancel

₹999/yr at stake · 5 spend bands

The charge ₹999/yr

The waiver ₹1,00,000 of spend in the year before renewal — about ₹8,333 a month — and the renewal fee is not charged.

Break-even ₹10,000 a month — ₹1,20,000 a year — is where this card's value crosses its fee, and it gets there by erasing the fee at the waiver rather than out-earning it.

At your spend

₹600 a year, net of the fee, at ₹3,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged

₹1,300 a year, net of the fee, at ₹6,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged

₹2,500 a year, net of the fee, at ₹12,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged

₹7,600 a year, net of the fee, at ₹36,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged

₹12,600 a year, net of the fee, at ₹60,00,000 of annual spend — this clears the waiver, so no fee is charged

Everyday earn plus milestones, minus the fee — the same model as the value panel above, so the two cannot disagree. run your exact spend →

The downgrade

RBL Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and the numbers above are the whole of it.

What has changed under this card

  • 23 Sep 2026 Axis EDGE brings Accor back, drops ITC, and adds Cathay, Miles & More and Hilton a program these points reach
  • 21 Aug 2026 Club ITC pays up to 50,000 bonus Green Points for spreading 10 nights across all five brands a program these points reach

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →

The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.

What's good

  • 2 Reward Points per ₹100 on all online spends, 1 point per ₹100 elsewhere
  • BookMyShow buy-one-get-one up to ₹200, one weekday a month
  • 4,000-point welcome on ₹2,000 of spend in 30 days
  • Fee reverses on ₹1 lakh of eligible annual spend
  • Fuel-surcharge waiver up to ₹100 a month on fills of ₹500–₹4,000

Watch out

  • Lounge access was discontinued on 1 July 2025 — the page still sells two visits and prices them at ₹3,000
  • The 2X online cap is 1,000 Reward Points and RBL does not say whether that is per month or per year
  • Fuel, auto, quasi-cash, railways, rent, education, insurance, utilities, government, wallet, cash and EMI earn nothing
  • ₹99 + GST reward-redemption fee, charged once per day you redeem
  • Points are worth ₹0.11–₹0.25 depending on the redemption — RBL's own range
  • RBL charges 1% on FIVE transaction types its Schedule of Charges lists separately from the reward exclusions: rent (MCC 6513, on every transaction), fuel and auto above ₹10,000 a transaction (capped at ₹3,000), utility spends above ₹50,000 a month, education paid through third-party apps such as CRED, PhonePe or Paytm (school and college websites are exempt), and — with effect from 7 January 2026 — FASTag loading and tolls above ₹10,000 a transaction. These are FEES, listed nowhere near the reward exclusions: a category can both cost you 1% and earn you nothing

What these points actually fly

RBL Reward Points move to Club ITC — and that programme prices every award dynamically. There is no published chart to quote, so we quote nothing: an estimate is not a seat.

What earns, what doesn't

14 sourced rules · 8 pay zero

Platinum Plus pays 1 RP/₹100 with 2X on online spend to a 1,000-point cap. Its exclusion footnote differs from Max/Prime in ONE way that matters: FUEL is in the first wave here, alongside Education, Insurance, Utilities, Rent and Wallet, and the 15-Oct-2024 wave adds only "Auto". The MCC list is identical.

Fuel excluded — Zero RP — fuel sits in this card's FIRST exclusion footnote, not the Oct-2024 one (MCC 0032, 2541, 4001, 5542, 5541, 5172); the ₹100-a-month surcharge waiver on ₹500–₹4,000 fills is the only fuel benefit
Rent & property management excluded — Zero RP — Rent Payments in the first footnote, "Real Estate" (MCC 6513) in the 15-Oct-2024 one; 1% fee on every rental transaction bank-wide (MITC)
Government / tax excluded — Zero RP since 15-Oct-2024 — "Government Services" (MCC 9400, 1490, 2490, 2995, 7800, 9406, 9222, 9405, 9399, 9211, 9402, 9401, 9311, 9223)
Utilities (electricity/water/gas) excluded — Zero RP — "Utilities" (MCC 4900) in the first footnote; Bills2Pay excluded separately from 15-Oct-2024, and a 1% fee past ₹50,000 a month (MITC)
Insurance excluded — Zero RP — "Insurance" (MCC 6300, 6310) in the first footnote, "Miscellaneous" (MCC 5960) added 15-Oct-2024
Education excluded — Zero RP — "Education" (MCC 8220, 8244, 8249, 8211, 8241, 8299) in the first footnote; 1% fee through a third-party app (MITC)
Wallet loads excluded — Zero RP — "Wallet Load" / "Service Providers" (MCC 6540) in the first footnote
Groceries & supermarkets full — Absent from the exclusion table — 1 RP/₹100, or 2 RP/₹100 if the grocer is billed as an online spend, to a 1,000-point cap
Dining & food delivery full — Absent from the exclusion table — 1 RP/₹100, or 2 RP/₹100 booked online within the 1,000-point online cap
Travel (airlines, hotels, transit) full — Airlines, hotels and OTAs earn 1 RP/₹100 (2X online, capped at 1,000 RP); "Railways" (MCC 0066, 4011, 4112) is excluded since 15-Oct-2024
Telecom full — Telecom (MCC 4814) is absent from the exclusion table — 1 RP/₹100 (inferred from absence, flag)
Jewellery / gold full — Jewellery (MCC 5944, 5094) is absent from the exclusion table — 1 RP/₹100 (inferred from absence, flag)
Forex / international spends full — 1 RP/₹100 on international spend, 2 RP/₹100 if it settles as an online transaction; RBL's 3.5% currency-conversion assessment applies on top (MITC)
UPI (RuPay-on-UPI only) not applicable
EMI conversions / merchant EMI excluded — No base reward points survive an EMI conversion — RBL's MITC applies it to every card, Split-N-Pay included
  • Fuel · excluded Zero RP — fuel sits in this card's FIRST exclusion footnote, not the Oct-2024 one (MCC 0032, 2541, 4001, 5542, 5541, 5172); the ₹100-a-month surcharge waiver on ₹500–₹4,000 fills is the only fuel benefit
  • Rent & property management · excluded Zero RP — Rent Payments in the first footnote, "Real Estate" (MCC 6513) in the 15-Oct-2024 one; 1% fee on every rental transaction bank-wide (MITC)

Does your spend count toward the fee waiver?

not published — and we say which

₹1,00,000 a year is the bar that waives the ₹999 fee. A different question from the one above — earning points and counting toward a threshold are separate rules, and issuers write them separately.

Not published. RBL Bank states what the RBL Platinum Plus earns and does not earn, but has not published which spend categories count toward the fee waiver — the ₹1,00,000 bar. We won't guess it from the earn table or from a sibling card: Axis published three cards' rules on one day and all three lists differed. If you hold this card and have it in writing from the issuer, send us the document and we'll source it.

    Partner major Axis Bank
Axis EDGE brings Accor back, drops ITC, and adds Cathay, Miles & More and Hilton
Accor and Marriott off the grid since 2 April 2026; Club ITC live; no Cathay, Miles & More or Hilton → Accor live at the punished rates; ITC removed; Cathay, Hilton and Miles & More live; Marriott still gone

Axis's own Travel EDGE terms, re-read 25 September 2026, already show the grid that went live on 23 September. Accor ALL is back, and not at the old Atlas 1:2: EDGE Miles convert at 2:1 (Olympus 1:2) and EDGE Rewards at 5:1, with Magnus for Burgundy at 5:2 and only Burgundy Private still at 5:4. Club ITC is off the table. Three partners are new. Cathay Asia Miles sits on that same punished grid. Hilton Honors is the ordinary one: EDGE Miles 1:2, EDGE Rewards 5:2, Burgundy 5:4. Lufthansa Miles & More is the exception on Atlas, which converts 1:1 there while every other standard airline on that card is 1:2; the EDGE Rewards side of Miles & More is the ordinary 5:2. Marriott stays removed. Qatar Privilege Club was already back. Flying Blue, Air India and Qantas moved into Group A, which is the capped group. The Axis Rewards credit card's Amex network is advertised as joining-fee and annual-fee nil for a limited period; there is no separate Amex variant on this board, so that offer is not modelled as a fee change.
