What it's worth to you, after the fee

Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes a fee schedule AND an earn table — we have neither number, so there is nothing to net off against nothing. Everything we can source — the fee, the charges, the migration that put this card in your hand — is above and stands on its own; this card is simply not on the board, not in the calculator, and cannot win a best-of call until SBI Card publishes terms we can cite.

Why #1076 An airline co-brand with no airline benefit: no free seat, no fare discount, no published accrual. Carried, not valued — SBI priced it off a ceiling and never printed a rate.

The take

GoAir was two years old and flying a handful of A320s when SBI put its name on a Visa, and the product is the emptiest co-brand on this board. Read both surviving captures end to end and there is not one GoAir benefit: no free ticket, no companion fare, no discount on a GoAir booking, no priority anything, no accelerated earn on flights — the airline appears only as a word substituted into SBI's standard template, twenty times, in sentences about drop boxes and utility bills. What you actually got was a fuel surcharge waiver between ₹400 and ₹3,000, a Carlson Wagonlit travel desk offering up to 3.5% off air tickets — which is a travel agent's discount, available to anyone who called them — and SBI's ordinary plumbing. The card never published an accrual rate, and its fee page carries only SBI's house-wide ceiling, so we can tell you neither what it earned nor what it cost. The template ran the other way too: SBI built its Lifestyle card's page from this one and never noticed it was still billing teledrafts to "your GoAir SBI Card". Historic and unmissed; GoAir became Go First in 2021 and stopped flying in May 2023.

Keep, downgrade or cancel

what we can and cannot price

Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes a fee schedule AND an earn table — we have neither number, so there is nothing to net off against nothing. A break-even is the spend at which value crosses a fee, and we are short one side of that sentence — so this desk prints no ladder, no crossing and no ₹0 standing in for either. What we can source about this card is under Sources.

The downgrade

SBI Card publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and we cannot price either side of it.

If you call to cancel

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →

The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.

What's good

  • Fuel surcharge waived on every transaction between ₹400 and ₹3,000, at all petrol pumps
  • Up to 3.5% off domestic and international air tickets booked through Carlson Wagonlit Travel

Watch out

  • Not one GoAir benefit on either surviving page — no ticket, no fare discount, no flight accrual
  • SBI never published an accrual rate for this card, so we decline to print a reward rate
  • The only fee table on the page is SBI's house-wide ceiling ('Upto Rs. 5,000' / 'Upto Rs. 1,500'), which is a maximum and not a price — so we decline to print a fee
  • Finance charges up to 3.35% a month — 40.2% a year
  • 3.5% foreign-currency markup
  • No lounge access of any kind; the page carries no lounge clause
  • Withdrawn — absent from SBI's 67-record live product catalogue, and the airline itself stopped flying in May 2023

What these points actually fly

SBI Card has not published what this card earns, so there are no points here to fly with — not zero points, and not points that go nowhere: nothing stated either way. The moment a benefit sheet exists we will price whatever it names.

You cannot. SBI's GE-era card shelf went dark and GoAir — renamed Go First in 2021 — suspended all operations on 3 May 2023 and entered insolvency. SBI Card's live catalogue carries no GoAir or Go First product.

    Partner major SBI Card
SBI drops Etihad Guest from the MILES transfer table — the last SBI door into the programme
SBI Card Travel Credits transferred 1:1 into Etihad Guest, one of eighteen airline partners in §3 of the MILES rewards T&C. At the ₹1/partner-mile anchor that was a full-value exit, and it was the only route left after the two Etihad Guest SBI co-brands were retired. → No Etihad route at all. The MILES rewards T&C now lists seventeen airline partners and Etihad is not one of them — the word does not appear anywhere in the seven-page document. Every other SBI partner survives at the same ratio.

SBI Card's own MILES rewards T&C, re-fetched on 22 August 2026 and carrying a 3 August 2026 ModDate inside the PDF, has one fewer airline in it than the edition this desk read on 2 August. The deletion is provable from the numbering rather than from absence alone: the table's first seven rows are unchanged (Air Canada 3, Air France-KLM 4, Air India 5, British Airways 6, Cathay 7), and every row from position eight onward has moved up exactly one — Thai from 14 to 13, Qantas from 17 to 16. Position eight was Etihad Airways / Etihad Guest / 1:1. All twenty-four other partners we carry, airline and hotel, are still there at the same ratios, so this is Etihad being dropped and not SBI narrowing transfers. The timing matters more than the ratio. SBI phased out the Etihad Guest SBI and Etihad Guest SBI Premier cards from December 2025 and reissued holders onto MILES products, and the transfer route was what made that migration survivable — a Premier holder who had spent six years earning Etihad miles could keep feeding the same account through Travel Credits. That is now closed, and India's remaining pipes into Etihad Guest run through BOBCARD's Etihad co-brands, not through SBI. If you hold SBI Travel Credits earmarked for an Abu Dhabi business seat, they are Aeroplan, Flying Blue, Avios or Maharaja points now. ON THE DATE: SBI publishes no notice and no cut-off. The date here is the day the desk read the change out of SBI's own document; the PDF's internal ModDate puts the edition at 3 August 2026, which is the earliest day we can prove, not an announcement.
