What it's worth to you, after the fee

Welcome: Not published — AU states no activation or sign-up benefit on Kosmo

Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes how it earns — every net-value number here would be a fee subtracted from rewards nobody has described. Everything we can source — the fee, the charges, the migration that put this card in your hand — is above and stands on its own; this card is simply not on the board, not in the calculator, and cannot win a best-of call until AU Small Finance Bank publishes terms we can cite.

The take

Kosmo is AU's card for Kiwi, the UPI app that built its business on credit-card-on-UPI payments, and you apply for it through the Kiwi app rather than through AU. It is lifetime free and AU says so twice, in the fee block and again in its FAQ, so there is no fee to justify and nothing to waive. The plastic arrives at your registered address and the digital card lives in both the AU 0101 and Kiwi apps. What it earns is the problem. AU's page says you collect Kiwi rewards on UPI Scan & Pay through the Kiwi app and on e-commerce, POS and contactless spend, that they are credited to your Kiwi account on your statement date, and that cash, rent, education and government, insurance, EMI, fuel and BBPS earn nothing. It never says how many Kiwi rewards you get per ₹100, and it never says what one is worth. That is unusual — every other AU card on this board prints its grid — and it means the honest thing this desk can publish is the fee, the exclusions and the absence. We are not going to convert a rate we have not been given, and we will not mint a currency whose redemption value nobody has stated. The rest of the card is real and small: a 1% fuel surcharge waiver up to ₹100 a cycle, contactless payments up to ₹5,000 without a PIN, EMI conversion from ₹500, and a MakeMyTrip offer of two complimentary domestic flight seats worth up to ₹350 plus 15% off select hotels as MyCash. If Kiwi publishes a rate, this page gets one.

Keep, downgrade or cancel

what we can and cannot price

Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes how it earns — every net-value number here would be a fee subtracted from rewards nobody has described. A break-even is the spend at which value crosses a fee, and we are short one side of that sentence — so this desk prints no ladder, no crossing and no ₹0 standing in for either. What we can source about this card is under Sources.

The downgrade

AU Small Finance Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and we cannot price either side of it.

If you call to cancel

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →

The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.

What's good

  • Lifetime free — AU states no joining fee and no renewal fee, twice
  • Earns Kiwi rewards on UPI Scan & Pay through the Kiwi app, and on e-commerce, POS and contactless spend
  • MakeMyTrip offer: 2 complimentary domestic flight seats up to ₹350, plus 15% off select hotels as MyCash
  • 1% fuel surcharge waiver on transactions between ₹400 and ₹5,000, up to ₹100 a statement cycle

Watch out

  • AU publishes no earn rate at all for this card — not a percentage, not a per-₹100 figure — so we print none
  • Rewards are Kiwi's, credited to a Kiwi account and visible only in the Kiwi app; AU does not state what one is worth
  • You apply through the Kiwi app, not through AU's own funnel
  • Cash, rent, education and government, insurance, EMI, fuel and BBPS earn no Kiwi rewards
  • AU publishes no cross-currency mark-up for this card either — assume the bank's ordinary band

What these points actually fly

AU Small Finance Bank has not published what this card earns, so there are no points here to fly with — not zero points, and not points that go nowhere: nothing stated either way. The moment a benefit sheet exists we will price whatever it names.

Lifetime free, stated twice — "The AU Kosmo Credit Card is a lifetime free card" and "you will not be charged any joining or renewal fee". Distributed through the Kiwi app, which is also the only place you can apply. AU PUBLISHES NO EARN RATE FOR THIS CARD AT ALL — it names the channels that earn Kiwi rewards (UPI Scan & Pay through the Kiwi app, e-commerce, POS and contactless) and the ones that do not (cash, rent, education and government, insurance, EMI, fuel, BBPS), and never states a per-₹100 figure or a redemption value, which is why the card file nulls the whole earn triple under our no-guess rule. Rewards are credited to a Kiwi account on the statement date and visible only in the Kiwi app. MakeMyTrip offer: 2 complimentary domestic flight seats up to ₹350 and 15% off select hotels as MyCash. Fuel surcharge waiver max ₹100 a cycle. No cross-currency mark-up is published for this card.

Buff moderate AU Small Finance Bank
AU makes the CheQ AU card lifetime free, dropping ₹499 joining and ₹499 renewal
"CheQ AU — Joining Fee ₹499 & Renewal Fee ₹499"; the LED variant "Joining Fee ₹1499 & Renewal Fee ₹499"; renewal waived by spending ₹3,00,000 in a year. → "CheQ AU Credit Card — Lifetime free (₹999 + GST one-time fee applicable for LED Card only)." CheQ no longer appears in the fee-waiver block at all, because there is no fee left to waive.

Caught as live drift on 24 August 2026 and dated to the document that carries it: AU's bank-wide MITC and Schedule of Charges, version 2.21, "Last updated on 7th July'2026". The previous edition — version 2.19, 16 May 2026, still served from a different path on AU's own site — prints the old numbers in the same table, which is what makes this a change and not a reading error. AU announced nothing. A ₹499 card becoming lifetime free is a real buff and the direction is worth naming, but price it honestly, because the fee was never the problem with this card. AU advertises the CheQ AU rungs as percentages — 12% on CheQ Travel and utility bills, 5% on online shopping, 1% on everything — and every one of those headlines is exactly double what it returns, because AU prints the POINT count with a percent sign and a CheQ Point is worth ₹0.50 at AU's own published redemption rates. The base rung AU calls "1%" pays 0.5%. Removing ₹499 a year from a card that returns half what its own page claims makes it a better free card, not a good one — and the earn still lands in a CheQ app account rather than on your statement, and expires two years from credit. ONE READING TRAP, since a later lane will hit it: three editions of this MITC sit at four URLs on au.bank.in, two of them differing only in filename case and punctuation, eight months apart. Only /credit-cards/mitc(with-schedule-of-charges).pdf serves v2.21. A drift check run against any of the others is a drift check against a stale table.

AU's first big rewrite of its points program hits from three directions at once: the e-voucher rate — the redemption most cardholders actually use — drops from ₹0.25 to ₹0.20 per point, every successful redemption now costs ₹99 plus taxes, and Zenith's earning gets a 40,000-point statement-cycle ceiling. A closed-loop currency with no transfer partners just got 20% smaller and pay-per-exit.
