What it's worth to you, after the fee
Welcome: 300+ reward points on first usage
Priced on the everyday mix — 30% groceries · 10% utilities · 20% travel · 6% fuel · 34% everything else — with this card's published category rules applied. Plus milestones, minus the fee. No accelerator credit — the ranking model on /compare adds ~20% of spend at the card's best accelerator, so its ₹ for this card reads higher.

Pays for itself at ₹19,000 a month
At ₹19,000 a month — ₹2,28,000 a year — on the everyday mix this card returns ₹800 gross (earn ₹800) against its ₹750 fee = ₹0 net — the first rung at or above ₹0. The ladder runs in ₹1,000 steps to ₹1,00,000 a month and ₹10,000 steps to ₹5,00,000; figures are rounded to the hundred, and the accelerator is never credited.

The take
Filed for completeness, and the lowest-priority PNB find for exactly that reason: this is a retail co-brand with Patanjali Ayurved, and its only travel-shaped benefit is an unquantified "Complimentary Domestic and international Lounge Program" line — the same claim, with the same missing quota and network, that appears on the standalone RuPay Select. Its sibling, the Patanjali RuPay Platinum, publishes the identical benefit list MINUS that lounge line and files as cashback; this card gets in on gate 1 alone, and only just. The rest of the stack is pure grocery-shelf economics: 2% cashback above ₹2,500 per Patanjali-store transaction, capped at ₹50 a transaction, plus an unquantified 5–7% additional cashback Patanjali itself funds on recharges made with the card. ₹500 to join and ₹750 a year — the product page prints only the joining fee and calls the annual one "NIL (if card is used one in a quarter)", but PNB's own MITC fee table names the ₹750 that lands the moment a quarter passes without a swipe. Waived for any active holder. Earn is the RuPay Select band's 2 points per ₹150 — 0.33% at the 25 paise PNB's MITC puts on a point — doubled to 2X on retail merchandise, though PNB never says which merchants that category covers. Hold it if you already shop at Patanjali stores and want the lounge line as a bonus; there is no reason to seek it out for travel value.

The downgrade
Punjab National Bank / Patanjali Ayurved publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and the numbers above are the whole of it.
If you call to cancel
What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →
The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.
What's good
- Complimentary domestic and international lounge access is claimed on the product page — the sole reason this card clears scope
- 2% cashback above ₹2,500 per Patanjali-store transaction (capped ₹50/txn), plus an additional 5–7% cashback Patanjali funds on recharges
- Effectively free to keep: ₹500 joining, and the ₹750 annual fee is waived on one transaction a quarter
Watch out
- The product page prints the ₹500 joining fee and calls the annual fee 'NIL (if card is used one in a quarter)' — PNB's own MITC fee table prints ₹750 as that annual fee. Skip a quarter and you are billed ₹750, not ₹500
- The base rate is on PNB's Rewardz programme page, not this card's — the card page prints only the 2X multiplier and never says what it doubles
- 'Retail merchandise' is PNB's own phrase for the 2X category and it defines no merchant list or MCC set — do not plan spend around it
- No lounge quota, no lounge network and no forex markup published
- The sibling Patanjali RuPay Platinum publishes the SAME benefit list minus the lounge line and fails all five gates — do not confuse the two
- The 2X retail multiplier and the Patanjali cashback are separate, capped mechanisms — do not add them as if they compound
What these points actually fly
No live transfer route takes PNB Reward Points into a programme that publishes an award chart. These points buy catalogue and portal redemptions, not award seats — so this page has no flight to show you, and will not invent one.

What earns, what doesn't
2 sourced rules · 1 pay zero
PNB publishes NO merchant-category exclusion list for any card on its shelf — not on the product pages, not in the Key Fact Statement, not in the MITC, which mentions merchant categories only to reserve the bank's right to BLOCK a card transacting on restricted MCCs. So this row states the two deviations PNB does document and nothing else; every other category answers "not published" rather than a guess.
- EMI conversions / merchant EMI · excluded No points survive an EMI conversion — PNB's MITC states it bank-wide: "On availing the EMI facility, reward points if any that have been accrued on the original transaction shall be reversed." PNB charges 2% of the transaction (min ₹100 instant / ₹200 Easy Pay) to convert, and 12–18%/yr on the instalments

The fine print
7 of 7 MITC rows published
What the MITC actually says — the rates, fees and cutoffs the brochure skips.
THE FEE THIS CARD'S OWN PAGE HIDES: the product page says "Minimum joining fees - Rs. 500/-" and "Annual fee – NIL (if card is used one in a quarter)", which reads as a ₹500 card. PNB's MITC fee table prints the real pair — joining ₹500, annual ₹750, waived only if the card is used at least once each quarter — so a holder who goes a quarter without a swipe is billed ₹750, not ₹500 and not nothing. The sibling Patanjali RuPay Platinum is Nil joining and ₹500 annual on the same waiver condition. Earn is a capped Patanjali-specific cashback rather than a rate: 2% on the portion of any Patanjali-store transaction above ₹2,500, capped ₹50 a transaction, plus 5–7% Patanjali itself funds on recharges. The page claims "2X rewards points on retail merchandise" without ever stating the 1X it doubles. Lounge is claimed for both domestic and international with no count, guest policy or network. Fuel surcharge waiver 1% (min ₹12.50) on fills above ₹500 and below ₹4,000, capped ₹350 a billing cycle. The MITC values a point at 25 paise; pnbcard.in/rewards.html still says 50 paise.
