Welcome: A Croma gift voucher worth ₹500, plus up to 15% off at Apollo Pharmacy stores
Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes a fee schedule AND an earn table — we have neither number, so there is nothing to net off against nothing. Everything we can source — the fee, the charges, the migration that put this card in your hand — is above and stands on its own; this card is simply not on the board, not in the calculator, and cannot win a best-of call until Vijaya Bank publishes terms we can cite.
Why we decline to value some cards, and what it takes to change that →
3 notes on the card itself: how it is issued · the network variants · why it ranks #995
Why #995 The one Vijaya Bank card that opened an airport door — the standard RuPay Platinum/Select lounge programme, twelve visits a year across both halves, on a card whose price the bank never printed. Carried, not valued; Vijaya Bank was merged into Bank of Baroda on 1 April 2019.
The take
Vijaya Bank spent most of its card life shipping plain Visa and MasterCard plastic with loyalty points nobody priced. The RuPay card is what it built at the very end, and it is a different animal: the bank's own page calls it "the latest offering with 'RuPay Credit Card' to their Credit Card bouquet", issued in two variants, RuPay Platinum and RuPay Select. The reason to care is the lounge programme. Vijaya states it plainly — domestic access eight times a year across thirty-plus lounges in eleven-plus Indian cities, and international access four times a year across five hundred-plus lounges in three hundred cities. That is the standard RuPay entitlement rather than anything Vijaya curated, and the bank publishes no room list, no airport list and no operator for either half, which is exactly how it is recorded on the lounge map here. There is a 24/7 concierge for travel assistance and hotel reservations alongside it. The earn is not an earn. Two five-percent cashbacks — utility bills and restaurants — each capped at ₹50 a month, and nothing published on ordinary spend at all. Against that sits a genuinely long offer list for 2018: ₹100 off BookMyShow tickets and ₹50 off food and beverages, 3% off gold and 4% off diamonds at Malabar, ₹300 off ₹1,299 at Ajio, ₹400 off ₹1,299 at Jabong, 15% off accommodation and food at The Fern Hotels, up to ₹1,500 off Zoomcar. Welcome benefits were a ₹500 Croma voucher and an Apollo Pharmacy discount. Accident cover came from RuPay's own insurance programme and scaled with the variant: ₹10 lakh on Select, ₹2 lakh on Platinum, ₹1 lakh on Classic, for loss of life or permanent disability. What the bank never published is the price. Its own Charges of Cards table prices two Visa chip cards and has no RuPay column, and on 1 April 2019 Vijaya Bank was amalgamated into Bank of Baroda.

Keep, downgrade or cancel
what we can and cannot price
Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes a fee schedule AND an earn table — we have neither number, so there is nothing to net off against nothing. A break-even is the spend at which value crosses a fee, and we are short one side of that sentence — so this desk prints no ladder, no crossing and no ₹0 standing in for either. What we can source about this card is under Sources.
Your copy of this card
You hold this card.
Kept on this device, in your browser. It is never sent to us, never synced, and nothing else on the site reads it yet.
The downgrade
Vijaya Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and we cannot price either side of it.
If you call to cancel
What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →
The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.
What's good
- The RuPay lounge programme in both halves — domestic access eight times a year across thirty-plus rooms in eleven-plus cities, and international access four times a year across five hundred-plus rooms in three hundred cities
- A 24/7 concierge for travel assistance, hotel reservations and referral services
- A ₹500 Croma gift voucher on joining, plus up to 15% off at Apollo Pharmacy stores
- 5% cashback on utility bills and 5% at eating places and restaurants — each capped at ₹50 a month
- RuPay accident cover of ₹10 lakh on Select, ₹2 lakh on Platinum and ₹1 lakh on Classic for loss of life or permanent disability
- ₹100 off BookMyShow tickets and ₹50 off food and beverages, all year round
- 15% off accommodation and 15% off food at The Fern Hotels, and up to ₹1,500 off a Zoomcar rental
- Accepted at RuPay points in India and at every ICS partner acceptance point abroad
Watch out
- WITHDRAWN — Vijaya Bank was amalgamated into Bank of Baroda on 1 April 2019 and the RuPay card was not carried forward under this name
- THE FEE WAS NEVER PUBLISHED: the bank's own Charges of Cards table prices the two Visa chip cards and has no RuPay column, so this card cannot be ranked, compared or put through the calculator
- THE CASHBACK IS A ROUNDING ERROR: both 5% rates are capped at ₹50 a month, so the pair is worth at most ₹1,200 a year, and nothing at all is published on ordinary spend
- The lounge quota is RuPay's programme, not Vijaya's — the bank names no room, no airport and no operator on either half
- The insurance tier depends on which variant you were issued, and the bank never published how it decided
- International acceptance ran through RuPay's ICS partner network, which is narrower than a Visa or Mastercard footprint
What these points actually fly
Vijaya Bank has not published what this card earns, so there are no points here to fly with — not zero points, and not points that go nowhere: nothing stated either way. The moment a benefit sheet exists we will price whatever it names.

The cutoffs and the actual route in — not the "apply now" button, the door that opens.
Closed to new applications — existing cardholders keep the card; there is no way in.
You cannot. Vijaya Bank ceased to exist as a licensed bank on 1 April 2019, when it was amalgamated into Bank of Baroda; the RuPay card was not reopened to new applicants under this name. The bank published no separate eligibility for it — its other credit cards required a Vijaya Bank account plus an income, a term deposit or an existing credit facility.
Vijaya Bank publishes no income or age cutoffs for this card. Blank means blank — we don't invent numbers to fill a grid.
