Priced on the everyday mix — 30% groceries · 10% utilities · 20% travel · 6% fuel · 34% everything else — with this card's published category rules applied. Plus milestones, minus the fee. No accelerator credit — the ranking model on /compare adds ~20% of spend at the card's best accelerator, so its ₹ for this card reads higher.

Pays from the first rupee

At ₹1,000 a month — ₹12,000 a year — on the everyday mix this card returns ₹0 gross (earn ₹0) against its ₹0 fee = ₹0 net — at or above ₹0 from the first rung we price. The ladder runs in ₹1,000 steps to ₹1,00,000 a month and ₹10,000 steps to ₹5,00,000; figures are rounded to the hundred, and the accelerator is never credited.

Why #887 An affinity card for Child Rights and You, and one half of the pair — with the WWF card — that was Citi India's whole charity shelf. Carried because affinity cards are a category this board barely covers and because the honest reading of the contribution is worth publishing.

The take

Citi India ran two charity affinity cards and this was the one for Child Rights and You. The proposition is simple enough to state in a sentence — Citi undertook to pay a percentage of everything you spent to CRY's ongoing projects — and the problem with it is equally simple: Citi never printed the percentage. Not in the masthead, which says only "percentage contribution of your spends"; not in the body, which says "a percentage of spends"; not anywhere on the page. So a reader could not, and still cannot, tell whether the charity saw a meaningful fraction of a swipe or a rounding error, and this desk will not guess on the charity's behalf. Everything else is the standard Citi affinity shell: free for life, free add-ons for spouse, parents and children over eighteen, the range-wide IndianOil fuel-surcharge waiver, and the range's lowest reward rate feeding the same gift catalogue the Silver used. As a travel card it is a blank — no lounge, no co-brand airline, no accelerator, no forex concession, no conversion. It is long withdrawn. If giving to CRY is the point, give to CRY.

The downgrade

Citibank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and the numbers above are the whole of it.

If you call to cancel

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →

The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.

What's good

  • Free for life in Citi's own printed words, with free additional cards for spouse, parents and children over eighteen
  • Citi contributed a percentage of card spends to CRY's ongoing projects
  • Fuel-surcharge waiver at IndianOil outlets, taking Citi's stated 2.5% surcharge to zero

Watch out

  • WITHDRAWN — gone from Citi India's range before the Axis Bank handover, and not one of the nine products on Axis's Forward Together site
  • THE DONATION WAS NEVER SIZED: Citi wrote 'a percentage' three times on this page and printed no figure, so what CRY actually received per rupee is unknowable from the document
  • No lounge access, no co-brand airline, no travel accelerator, no forex concession and no conversion out
  • 0.35% ties the Silver for the range's lowest, and the CRY donation cannot improve it: Citi describes the contribution three times and never once states a percentage, a cap or a floor
  • The rate was the range's lowest — the affinity badge cost you accrual against Citi's own Gold and Platinum

What these points actually fly

No live transfer route takes Citibank Reward Points into a programme that publishes an award chart. These points buy catalogue and portal redemptions, not award seats — so this page has no flight to show you, and will not invent one.

Closed to new applications — existing cardholders keep the card; there is no way in.

You cannot. The card was withdrawn from Citi India's range before the bank sold its Indian consumer business to Axis Bank, and citibank.co.in no longer resolves. It has no successor on Axis's Forward Together migration site.

Citibank publishes no income or age cutoffs for this card. Blank means blank — we don't invent numbers to fill a grid.
