Priced on the everyday mix — 30% groceries · 10% utilities · 20% travel · 6% fuel · 34% everything else — with this card's published category rules applied. Plus milestones, minus the fee. No accelerator credit — the ranking model on /compare adds ~20% of spend at the card's best accelerator, so its ₹ for this card reads higher.

Pays for itself at ₹56,000 a month

At ₹56,000 a month — ₹6,72,000 a year — on the everyday mix this card returns ₹1,000 gross (earn ₹1,000) against its ₹1,000 fee = ₹0 net — the first rung at or above ₹0. The ladder runs in ₹1,000 steps to ₹1,00,000 a month and ₹10,000 steps to ₹5,00,000; figures are rounded to the hundred, and the accelerator is never credited.

2 notes on the card itself: how it is issued · why it ranks #672

Equitas Small Finance Bank · Not published · entry

Why #672 The unsecured Tiga's earn at double the unsecured Tiga's price. 0.15% everyday and 0.45% on the 3X rungs is the same return either way — what the secured issue changes is the fee, the cash limit (zero) and the fixed deposit standing behind the line instead of an income proof, so the ₹1,000 has to be judged against the deposit, not against the rate.

The take

This is Equitas' entry card issued against a deposit rather than an income proof, and it is worth knowing about precisely because the bank never markets it. The credit-cards hub sells three cards; the MITC's fee table names six, and three of those six are secured issues. Tiga Secured is the cheapest of them, and it costs ₹1,000 + GST a year — exactly twice what the unsecured Tiga costs, which is the single most important thing on this page. Everything the card DOES is the unsecured card's feature set: purchases at ten named partner merchants convert to a three-month EMI automatically at 1.25% a month with no processing fee, finance runs at 0.99% a month for the first three months from card open and 3.75% after that, the 1% fuel-surcharge waiver is capped at ₹100 a month and ₹1,200 a year, and add-on cards are free. Two things differ. The cash limit is zero — the MITC says so by name for all three secured variants, so this card withdraws nothing at an ATM, ever. And the line is secured, which is the point: it opens a card to an applicant who cannot show the ₹4.2–5 lakh income the unsecured Tiga asks for. There is no travel benefit here at all — no lounge, no co-brand, no transfer route, and the ordinary 3.50% foreign mark-up, since the MITC footnotes its 2% concession to the PowerMiles pair alone. Judge it as a credit-builder that happens to have a clever EMI rail, and check the fee against the deposit you are being asked to lock up.

The downgrade

Equitas Small Finance Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and the numbers above are the whole of it.

If you call to cancel

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →

The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.

What's good

  • ₹1,000 + GST a year, printed as its own row in Equitas' MITC and Key Fact Statement fee tables
  • Secured against a fixed deposit, so it opens a card without the ₹4.2–5 lakh income the unsecured Tiga asks for
  • Pay by 3 — purchases at ten named partner merchants convert to a 3-month EMI automatically at 1.25% a month with no processing fee
  • Introductory finance charge of 0.99% a month for the first three months from card open
  • 1% fuel-surcharge waiver on ₹500–₹3,000 transactions, capped at ₹100 a month and ₹1,200 a year, and add-on cards are free

Watch out

  • It costs DOUBLE the unsecured Tiga — ₹1,000 against ₹500, both printed in the same MITC fee table
  • The cash limit is zero. Equitas states it by name: 'Cash Limit is zero for Secured Credit Card variants (Tiga Secured, Selfe Secured and PowerMiles Secured)'
  • Equitas publishes NO fee-waiver condition for the secured line. The ₹1,20,000 renewal waiver is printed on the unsecured Tiga's page only, so none is claimed here
  • Equitas does not market this card at all — it appears in the MITC and the Key Fact Statement fee tables and nowhere on the credit-cards hub, so every benefit beyond the shared T&C row is unpublished
  • A Tiga point is ₹0.15 for travel and vouchers and ₹0.10 for cashback — Equitas' own figures, and less than half what the same bank pays on Selfe (₹0.35) or PowerMiles (₹0.50), so 1 point per ₹100 is 0.15%
  • No lounge access of any kind, and the ordinary 3.50% foreign-transaction mark-up — the MITC's 2% concession is footnoted to PowerMiles and PowerMiles Secured only
  • Revolves at 3.75% a month, an APR of 45%, once the introductory rate expires
  • Points expire 24 months after they are earned, the balance is nullified after 365 days of card inactivity, and redeeming costs ₹99 with a 500-point minimum

What these points actually fly

No live transfer route takes Equitas Tiga Reward Points into a programme that publishes an award chart. These points buy catalogue and portal redemptions, not award seats — so this page has no flight to show you, and will not invent one.

Against a fixed deposit with Equitas, and not through the public card funnel — the bank's credit-cards hub markets only the three unsecured products. The secured line surfaces in the documents a cardholder is bound by (MITC v1.3 §1(a) and the Key Fact Statement's section (a)) rather than in the shop window, which in practice means it is offered to deposit holders rather than applied for.

Equitas Small Finance Bank publishes no income or age cutoffs for this card. Blank means blank — we don't invent numbers to fill a grid.
