Priced on the everyday mix — 30% groceries · 10% utilities · 20% travel · 6% fuel · 34% everything else — with this card's published category rules applied. Plus milestones, minus the fee. No accelerator credit — the ranking model on /compare adds ~20% of spend at the card's best accelerator, so its ₹ for this card reads higher.

Pays for itself at ₹10,000 a month

At ₹10,000 a month — ₹1,20,000 a year — on the everyday mix this card returns ₹1,200 gross (earn ₹1,200) against its ₹1,188 fee = ₹0 net — the first rung at or above ₹0. The ladder runs in ₹1,000 steps to ₹1,00,000 a month and ₹10,000 steps to ₹5,00,000; figures are rounded to the hundred, and the accelerator is never credited.

The take

BYOC is the only Indian credit card that charges by the month, and the only one that makes you pick its currency at issuance. This page prices the Cashback half: ₹99 a month against the Rewards half's ₹49, in exchange for a flat 1% back in rupees rather than 8 points per ₹200 that need a portal to be worth anything. For most readers that is the better half of the choice — money beats a closed-loop point at the same headline rate — and the bank's own FAQ is blunt that the decision can never be reversed, not at re-issuance, not ever. Two things to price properly. The ₹1,188 a year is real money with no spend waiver to chase, so at 1% you need about ₹1,20,000 of eligible spend a year just to break even on the subscription. And the ceiling is disputed by YES itself: the MITC caps cashback at ₹1,000 a statement cycle — ₹1,00,000 of spend — while the product page's FAQ says "there is no capping on the earning. You can earn 1% unlimited cashback on all spends". We carry the regulatory number and print the contradiction. Utility and wallet spends earn nothing at all on this variant, which is a real hole for anyone who pays bills on a card. What you get beyond the rate: one domestic lounge visit a quarter on the Mastercard programme once ₹50,000 has cleared in the previous quarter, EMI conversion, and a card you can have made in metal for ₹3,499 one-off. Forex is 3.50% plus a 1% dynamic-conversion markup, so this is not a card to take abroad.

The downgrade

YES Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and the numbers above are the whole of it.

What has changed under this card

  • 15 Jun 2026 YES's ₹100 redemption fee reaches Marquee and Reserv issuer-wide
  • 15 Jun 2026 YES Bank raises forex on almost every card it sells — SELECT takes 75 basis points in one step issuer-wide
  • 1 Apr 2025 YES lounge gate triples to ₹1 lakh on Marquee and Reserv issuer-wide

If you call to cancel

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →

The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.

What's good

  • Flat 1% cashback in rupees on all spends except fuel — no portal, no points to redeem
  • ₹99 + taxes a month for the Cashback core benefit — no annual fee, no spend waiver to chase
  • One complimentary domestic lounge visit a quarter after ₹50,000 of spend in the previous one
  • Regular card costs nothing one-time; eco-friendly is ₹249 and metal ₹3,499
  • Choose the card image, the material and the merchants your optional 10% plan applies to

Watch out

  • Billed MONTHLY — the ₹1,188 shown here is 12 × the published ₹99, a figure YES never prints
  • YES CONTRADICTS ITSELF on the ceiling: the MITC caps cashback at ₹1,000 a statement cycle, the product-page FAQ calls the same 1% uncapped — we carry the MITC
  • No cashback at all on utility and wallet spends
  • Rewards vs Cashback is chosen at issuance and can NEVER be switched, not even on re-issuance (the bank's own FAQ)
  • At ₹1,188 a year you need about ₹1,20,000 of eligible spend just to break even on the subscription
  • Optional merchant plans add ₹99–₹249 a month for 10% back capped at ₹100 per merchant per cycle
  • 3.50% forex plus a 1% dynamic-currency-conversion markup — not a card to take abroad
  • Fuel surcharge waiver only between ₹500 and ₹3,000, effective 15 June 2026

What these points actually fly

No live transfer route takes Statement cashback (₹) into a programme that publishes an award chart. These points buy catalogue and portal redemptions, not award seats — so this page has no flight to show you, and will not invent one.

The same public online application as the Rewards twin — ₹25,000 a month net salary or a ₹7.5 lakh ITR, age 21 to 60 — and holding any other YES credit card closes the form. The decision that matters is made before you apply: Cashback or Rewards is fixed at issuance and the bank's FAQ says it cannot be changed afterwards or at re-issuance, and the same goes for the card material.

YES Bank publishes no income or age cutoffs for this card. Blank means blank — we don't invent numbers to fill a grid.

The fine print

7 of 7 MITC rows published

What the MITC actually says — the rates, fees and cutoffs the brochure skips.

Forex markup 3.50% + GST — unchanged across the 15-Jun-2026 revision that moved most of this shelf, plus a separate 1% DCC markup on INR-billed foreign transactions
APR 3.99%/mo (47.88%/yr) on revolving credit, cash advances and overdue amounts — the MITC's “Other Credit Cards” tier
Late fee Nil while the current outstanding (statement balance plus unbilled) is ₹500 or less; above that, 10% of the statement balance or ₹1,350, whichever is LOWER, per statement
Cash advance 2.5% or ₹650, whichever is higher, w.e.f. 15-Jun-2026 — the floor was ₹500 before that; billed in the next statement and accruing finance charges from the withdrawal date
Add-on card Nil
Overlimit ₹550 + GST flat on any transaction that exceeds the assigned limit; the overlimit facility was reintroduced 1-Jun-2026 and is granted on the bank’s own risk view
Redemption fee Not applicable — the MITC charges the ₹100 + GST redemption fee only on a card that offers reward points as a feature, and this one pays cash

The one card on this shelf the MITC prices MONTHLY rather than annually: ₹99 a month for BYOC Cashback, which is the ₹1,188 a year the card file carries. On top of that sits a one-time card charge that depends on the plastic you pick — nil for the regular card, ₹249 for the eco-friendly one and ₹3,499 for metal — and an OPTIONAL monthly subscription of ₹99 (Silver), ₹149 (Gold) or ₹249 (Platinum) that stacks on the monthly fee. Re-issuance follows the same plastic ladder: ₹100 + GST regular, ₹349 eco-friendly, ₹3,599 metal. Domestic lounge access is gated on ₹50,000 of prior-quarter spend. Utility spends are charged 1% + GST past ₹25,000 in the previous calendar month.

YES's ₹100 redemption fee reaches Marquee and Reserv
Marquee and Reserv exempt from the ₹100-per-redemption fee; card reissuance ₹100–₹200 by variant → ₹100 fee on every redemption request, premium cards included, plus a ₹99 booking fee on YES Rewardz flights; reissuance ₹199; fuel-surcharge waiver window revised

The exemption that let Marquee and Reserv holders pretend the ₹100 redemption fee was someone else's problem is gone. From 15 June 2026 every YES card pays ₹100 per redemption request, and booking a flight through YES Rewardz — the only place the points are worth their ₹0.25 — stacks a ₹99 booking fee on top. On a card whose whole pitch is settling 4.5% online earnings in portal travel, YES now charges you twice at the exit.
