What it's worth to you, after the fee

Welcome: Not published — Kotak states no joining gift for this card

Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes a fee — every net-value number here would be wrong by exactly the fee we can't find. Everything we can source — the earn rate, the transfer routes, the lounge doors — is above and stands on its own; this card is simply not on the board, not in the calculator, and cannot win a best-of call until Kotak Mahindra Bank publishes a fee schedule we can cite.

Visa — the FAQ answers it twice on one page — "The Kotak Silk Inspire Platinum Credit Card is a VISA Chip Platinum Credit Card" — and the apparel accelerator is defined by Visa's own MCC list

Why #873 Carried, not ranked — Kotak's current schedule of charges declines to price this card, so there is no fee to rank it against. On earn alone it would rank well: a Kotak point worth a full rupee is rare, and 5% on apparel is the best clothing rate the issuer has ever published. The cap is what tempers it — ₹500 of apparel reward a month and no more.

A Silk Inspire reward point is worth a full rupee — the Kotak Infinite's rate, four times what a League Platinum or a Zen Signature point fetches. Kotak's value chart shows its working twice: the capped apparel rung at 500 points a month is priced at ₹6,000 a year, and 300 points earned on ₹60,000 of other spend is priced at ₹300. Note what is NOT published: this card is absent from the redemption table that re-cut Infinite, Feast and Essentia from ₹1 to 70 paise on 1 June 2025, so whether that cut reached Silk Inspire is unknown and un-guessed here.

The take

The Silk Inspire Platinum is a women's card built around one number, and the number is genuinely good: five reward points per ₹100 on apparel, at a point Kotak values at a full rupee. That is 5% on clothes, which is better than anything else on the Kotak shelf and better than most co-brands. It is also the only rung that matters, because everything else earns one point per ₹200 — half a percent — and Kotak is at least honest that the base rung runs "without any restrictions" while the good one does not. Read the ceiling before you plan around the headline. The apparel rung pays a maximum of 500 points in a billing cycle, so ₹10,000 of clothes a month exhausts it and every rupee after that drops to the half-percent. It also does not start until ₹7,500 of spend has landed in the cycle, and the merchant has to carry Visa's own "Apparel" category code, which a department store or a mall-based multi-brand outlet often does not. The whole accelerator is therefore worth ₹6,000 a year at its absolute maximum. On top sits a half-yearly milestone — ₹1,25,000 in six months buys four PVR tickets or 1,000 points, twice a year — and a fuel surcharge waiver capped at ₹3,500 a calendar year on transactions between ₹500 and ₹3,000. Two things we will not tell you, because Kotak no longer does. What it costs: the current schedule of charges names this card five times and prices it not once, and the ₹599 on the archived fee page is seven years old. And whether the point is still worth a rupee: the 1 June 2025 devaluation that cut Infinite, Feast and Essentia from ₹1 to 70 paise lists four products and Silk Inspire is not among them, which could mean spared or could mean forgotten. The card is no longer sourced — there is no Key Fact Statement for it where 28 other Kotak variants have one — but it is still described in the present tense in the live agreement, so if you hold one it still earns.

Keep, downgrade or cancel

what we can and cannot price

Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes a fee — every net-value number here would be wrong by exactly the fee we can't find. A break-even is the spend at which value crosses a fee, and we are short one side of that sentence — so this desk prints no ladder, no crossing and no ₹0 standing in for either. What we can source about this card is under Sources.

The downgrade

Kotak Mahindra Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and we cannot price either side of it.

What has changed under this card

  • 8 Sep 2026 Flying Blue splits award tickets into Light / Standard / Flex — a 25% rise for the same product a program these points reach
  • 1 Jun 2025 Kotak's June-2025 fee wave washes over the premium deck issuer-wide
  • 12 Feb 2025 RBI lifts Kotak's ten-month card-issuance ban issuer-wide

We price what is in force today — a change that has not happened yet is not in these numbers. the full archive for this card →

If you call to cancel

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →

The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.

What's good

  • 5 reward points per ₹100 on apparel — 5% at a rupee a point, the best clothing rate Kotak has published
  • A Silk Inspire point is worth ₹1, four times what most of the Kotak shelf pays
  • The base rung earns 1 point per ₹200 on everything else, uncapped, in Kotak's own words "without any restrictions"
  • ₹1,25,000 of spend every six months takes 4 PVR tickets or 1,000 points — up to 8 tickets a year
  • Fuel surcharge waived at any petrol pump in India on transactions of ₹500–₹3,000, to ₹3,500 a calendar year

Watch out

  • The apparel rung stops at 500 points a billing cycle — ₹10,000 of clothes a month and then it is over
  • It also does not begin until ₹7,500 of spend has landed in the cycle, and the merchant must carry Visa's own "Apparel" category code
  • Everything outside apparel earns 0.50%
  • What it costs is NOT published — Kotak's current schedule of charges names this card five times and prices it in none of them
  • Whether the point is still worth ₹1 is also unpublished: the 1 June 2025 cut from ₹1 to 70 paise names Infinite, NRI Royale Signature, Feast and Essentia, and is silent on Silk Inspire
  • The milestone is HALF-YEARLY — ₹1,25,000 in each six-month window, so a lumpy year clears one half and misses the other
  • No railway surcharge waiver: Kotak names this card in the not-eligible list
  • No lounge access — Kotak's India lounge programme enumerates its eligible variants set by set and Silk Inspire is in none of the three
  • Secured: the card is issued against a term deposit of at least ₹50,000, with the limit at 80% of it
  • Discontinued for new sourcing — the product page is gone from both Kotak hosts and no Key Fact Statement exists for it, where 28 other Kotak variants have one

What these points actually fly

No live transfer route takes Kotak Reward Points into a programme that publishes an award chart. These points buy catalogue and portal redemptions, not award seats — so this page has no flight to show you, and will not invent one.

Does your spend count toward the milestones?

not published — and we say which

₹2,50,000 a year is the bar for the first milestone. A different question from the one above — earning points and counting toward a threshold are separate rules, and issuers write them separately.

Not published. Kotak Mahindra Bank states what the Kotak Silk Inspire Platinum earns, but has not published which spend categories count toward the milestones — the ₹2,50,000 bar. We won't guess it from the earn table or from a sibling card: Axis published three cards' rules on one day and all three lists differed. If you hold this card and have it in writing from the issuer, send us the document and we'll source it.

Closed to new applications — existing cardholders keep the card; there is no way in.

You cannot. The product page is gone from both Kotak hosts and there is no Key Fact Statement for the card, which is the regulatory tell that nothing is being sourced. Existing holders keep it — the 31-July-2026 cardholder agreement still states its apparel accrual and its deposit terms in the present tense. When it was sold it was issued against a term deposit of ₹50,000 or more, with a credit limit of 80% of the deposit, and it was offered to women. The live Kotak card closest to it is the Kotak Essentia Platinum at ₹749, which accelerates on groceries rather than clothes.

Kotak Mahindra Bank publishes no income or age cutoffs for this card. Blank means blank — we don't invent numbers to fill a grid.

Dream Different's unredeemed reward points expire after 30 September 2026
Reward points accrued on the Dream Different Credit Card up to 31 March 2026 sitting in the account with no stated expiry date → A hard forfeiture date — "After 30th September, 2026, any unredeemed Reward Points will automatically expire"

The second half of the note that closed the programme is the part holders can still act on. Kotak's cardholder agreement gives every Dream Different point accrued up to 31 March 2026 a six-month redemption window that shuts on 30 September 2026, after which unredeemed points are forfeited outright. At the agreement's own conversion rate of 25 paise per point, a year of the card's headline 4-points-per-₹100 online earn on ₹1 lakh of online spend is roughly 4,000 points, about ₹1,000 — small money, but money that becomes zero on 1 October. Points redeem against the Kotak catalogue (flights, hotels, vouchers, merchandise) or as a statement credit through the rewards portal or the contact centre, each with its own minimum, so a last-week redemption risks missing the date on processing alone.
