Priced on the everyday mix — 30% groceries · 10% utilities · 20% travel · 6% fuel · 34% everything else — with this card's published category rules applied. Plus milestones, minus the fee. No accelerator credit — the ranking model on /compare adds ~20% of spend at the card's best accelerator, so its ₹ for this card reads higher.

Pays from the first rupee
At ₹1,000 a month — ₹12,000 a year — on the everyday mix this card returns ₹100 gross (earn ₹100) against its ₹0 fee = ₹100 net — at or above ₹0 from the first rung we price. The ladder runs in ₹1,000 steps to ₹1,00,000 a month and ₹10,000 steps to ₹5,00,000; figures are rounded to the hundred, and the accelerator is never credited.
2 notes on the card itself: how it is issued · why it ranks #893
Why #893 The most unusual card in Citi India's whole catalogue: a chip card whose points were priced at a rupee, earned on car servicing and fuel, and spendable against the purchase of your next car. Carried because no Indian issuer has built anything like it since.
The take
This is the card in Citi India's catalogue that most deserves to be remembered, and almost nobody does. Maruti Suzuki and Citi built a chip card — instant earn and instant redemption at the dealership terminal, which in the late 2000s was genuinely ahead of the market — whose currency was called Auto Points and which Maruti priced at one rupee each. You earned the top rate on servicing at participating dealerships and on Maruti genuine parts, oil and consumables; a middle rate on fuel at IndianOil; the base rate everywhere else in the world. Then the clever part: the points came out at the till at your dealership, or as IndianOil PetroVouchers in the first year, or — and this is the bit no Indian card does today — against the price of your next Maruti when you traded the old one in, with a further bonus of up to 20,000 points on the exchange itself. It cost nothing for life. Free Maruti on-road breakdown service came with it. As a travel card it is a blank: no lounge, no airline, no forex concession, no transfer. As a closed-loop earn-and-spend design it is better thought through than most of what is on sale now. It is long withdrawn, and Maruti's later co-brands are with other banks entirely.

The downgrade
Citibank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and the numbers above are the whole of it.
If you call to cancel
What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →
The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.
What's good
- Free for life in Citi's own printed words
- Maruti priced the currency itself: an Auto Point redeemed at par, one point to the rupee, against your next car at trade-in
- A chip card that earned and redeemed instantly at the dealership terminal, years before that was normal in India
- Points also came out as IndianOil PetroVouchers in the first membership year, or against servicing and parts at participating dealerships
- Free Maruti Suzuki On-Road Service for emergency breakdowns, plus a driver-training discount in Delhi
Watch out
- WITHDRAWN — gone from Citi India's range before the Axis Bank handover, and not one of the nine products on Axis's Forward Together site
- THE VALUE ONLY EXISTED INSIDE MARUTI: points came out at dealerships, at IndianOil, or against a new Maruti — no cash, no statement credit, no airline and no hotel
- The best rate needed PARTICIPATING dealerships and select service stations, so a service at the wrong workshop paid the base rate
- The PetroVoucher exit was first-year-only by Citi's own wording — after that the fuel earn had to be spent inside the Maruti network
- The referral, per-service and trade-in bonuses are keyed on EVENTS rather than on annual spend, so none of them is in the card's value — and Citi's own page never reconciled 'up to 5000' against the masthead's 'up to 20,000'
- No lounge access, no travel accelerator, no forex concession and no airline conversion
What these points actually fly
No live transfer route takes Citibank Maruti Auto Points into a programme that publishes an award chart. These points buy catalogue and portal redemptions, not award seats — so this page has no flight to show you, and will not invent one.

Closed to new applications — existing cardholders keep the card; there is no way in.
You cannot. The card was withdrawn from Citi India's range before the bank sold its Indian consumer business to Axis Bank, and citibank.co.in no longer resolves. It has no successor on Axis's Forward Together migration site, and Maruti Suzuki's later co-brands are issued by other banks.
Citibank publishes no income or age cutoffs for this card. Blank means blank — we don't invent numbers to fill a grid.
