What it's worth to you, after the fee

Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes how it earns — every net-value number here would be a fee subtracted from rewards nobody has described. Everything we can source — the fee, the charges, the migration that put this card in your hand — is above and stands on its own; this card is simply not on the board, not in the calculator, and cannot win a best-of call until IndusInd Bank publishes terms we can cite.

The take

A fuel co-brand with a genuinely aggressive earn table and one thing missing from it. Every rupee spent inside the Jio-bp ecosystem — petrol, diesel, Castrol lubes, the wildbean Café, the convenience store and Jio-bp Pulse EV charging — earns 12 Smiles per ₹100, six times the 2 Smiles the card pays on ordinary spend, with dining, supermarket and grocery at 5. Fuel at any other brand's pump earns nothing, and neither does insurance, government, utility or rent. The Jio-bp rate is capped at 1,200 Smiles a statement cycle, which is ₹10,000 of fuel a month; past that a Jio-bp litre earns like any other spend. On top sit a monthly milestone of 200 Smiles at ₹4,000 of Jio-bp spend, two annual milestones of 2,000 Smiles each at ₹1,00,000 and the next ₹1,00,000 of spend, 400 Smiles for your first Jio-bp fill within 30 days, a ₹200 wildbean Café coupon, a 1% fuel surcharge waiver at Jio-bp pumps only, and roadside assistance in six cities. The fee is effectively optional: ₹499 charged only if you fail to spend ₹10,000 in the first 90 days, and nothing to renew. What we cannot tell you is what a Smile is worth. Redemption happens at the counter — quote your mobile number, say how many Smiles to burn, pay the rest — and neither IndusInd nor Jio-bp publishes a rupee rate anywhere we can cite. So this card is carried, not ranked: if you fill at Jio-bp anyway the maths is very likely good, and we will price it the day someone publishes the number.

Your renewal — keep, downgrade or cancel

There is no renewal arithmetic to run on this card yet — and a break-even we cannot source is not one we will print.

the whole desk — what changed, the downgrade, and what we cannot price →

Keep, downgrade or cancel

what we can and cannot price

Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes how it earns — every net-value number here would be a fee subtracted from rewards nobody has described. A break-even is the spend at which value crosses a fee, and we are short one side of that sentence — so this desk prints no ladder, no crossing and no ₹0 standing in for either. What we can source about this card is under Sources.

The downgrade

IndusInd Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and we cannot price either side of it.

What has changed under this card

  • 15 Jun 2026 IndusInd doubles its DCC fee to 2% on the mass shelf, and holds 1% on the premium one issuer-wide
  • 25 Mar 2025 IndusInd hikes redemption fee to ₹149, caps cash-outs at 50% issuer-wide

We price what is in force today — a change that has not happened yet is not in these numbers. the full archive for this card →

If you call to cancel

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →

The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.

What's good

  • 12 Smiles per ₹100 across the whole Jio-bp ecosystem — fuel, Castrol lubes, wildbean Café, the convenience store and Jio-bp Pulse EV charging
  • 5 Smiles per ₹100 on dining, supermarket and grocery; 2 Smiles per ₹100 on everything else
  • The ₹499 joining fee is waived outright if you spend ₹10,000 in the first 90 days — and there is no annual fee at all
  • 400 bonus Smiles for the first Jio-bp fuel transaction within 30 days, plus a ₹200 wildbean Café coupon on the first café transaction
  • 200 bonus Smiles every statement cycle you spend ₹4,000 or more at Jio-bp
  • 2,000 bonus Smiles at ₹1,00,000 of anniversary-year spend and 2,000 more on the next ₹1,00,000
  • 1% fuel surcharge waiver at Jio-bp stations, and RuPay-style UPI linking to BHIM, PhonePe, Paytm and Google Pay
  • Roadside assistance — 24×7 helpline, roadside repair, towing and emergency assistance in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Pune, Chennai and Bangalore

Watch out

  • NEITHER INDUSIND NOR JIO-BP PUBLISHES WHAT A SMILE IS WORTH IN RUPEES, so we decline to state a reward rate for this card — it is carried on this site, not ranked
  • Smiles are redeemable only inside the Jio-bp ecosystem, at the counter, by quoting your registered mobile number — there is no transfer partner and no statement credit
  • The 12-Smiles rate is capped at 1,200 Smiles a statement cycle, about ₹10,000 of Jio-bp spend
  • Fuel at any non-Jio-bp pump earns nothing at all, and neither does insurance, government, utility or rent spend
  • The 1% fuel surcharge waiver applies at Jio-bp stations only — IndusInd states it outright: "There is no fuel surcharge waiver on the fuel on non Jio-bp fuel stations"
  • ₹499 joining fee if you miss the ₹10,000-in-90-days bar
  • 3.5% forex markup — the card's own FAQ calls international use "advisable to use it cautiously"
  • Interest 3.95% a month (47.40% a year), IndusInd's highest interest group
  • Roadside assistance covers six cities only
  • No airport lounge access of any kind

What these points actually fly

IndusInd Bank has not published what this card earns, so there are no points here to fly with — not zero points, and not points that go nowhere: nothing stated either way. The moment a benefit sheet exists we will price whatever it names.

IndusInd states the commercial arrangement itself: the card is issued "in partnership with Reliance BP Mobility Ltd widely known as Jio-bp" and "There is a revenue sharing arrangement between IndusInd Bank & Reliance BP Mobility Ltd for this co-branded credit card." Worth knowing before you apply: spend ₹10,000 inside the first 90 days and the ₹499 joining fee never appears.

Pioneer Legacy's quarterly lounge visit now costs ₹1.5 lakh of spend
1 complimentary domestic lounge visit a quarter, no spend condition → From the Jul–Sep 2026 quarter, the visit unlocks only on ₹1,50,000 of previous-quarter spend

The spend-tracking regime IndusInd switched on in April now bites: from the July–September 2026 quarter, Pioneer Legacy's single complimentary domestic lounge visit is granted only if you put ₹1.5 lakh through the card the quarter before. Legacy sits in the same ₹1.5L tier as Pinnacle; Indulge, Solitaire and Crest need ₹5 lakh for theirs. The gate covers the domestic visit — the Priority Pass international allowance isn't part of this condition. On a private-banking card with a ₹50,000 retail joining fee, spend-gating one lounge visit a quarter is a remarkably small door to put a toll on, and IndusInd did it anyway.

A year after halving Legend's lounge visits, IndusInd came back and took the rest. From 7 March 2025 the card offers no complimentary lounge access, domestic or otherwise — on a product still marketed with a ₹5,000 joining fee. The lifetime-free Legend crowd shrugs; anyone who paid for this card on the strength of its airport perks got a two-step lesson in how IndusInd sunsets a benefit.
