What it's worth to you, after the fee
Priced on the everyday mix — 30% groceries · 10% utilities · 20% travel · 6% fuel · 34% everything else — with this card's published category rules applied. Plus milestones, minus the fee. No accelerator credit — the ranking model on /compare adds ~20% of spend at the card's best accelerator, so its ₹ for this card reads higher.

Pays for itself at ₹10,000 a month
At ₹10,000 a month — ₹1,20,000 a year — on the everyday mix this card returns ₹4,800 gross (earn ₹0 + bonuses ₹4,800) against its ₹499 fee = ₹4,300 net — the first rung at or above ₹0. The ladder runs in ₹1,000 steps to ₹1,00,000 a month and ₹10,000 steps to ₹5,00,000; figures are rounded to the hundred, and the accelerator is never credited.
1 notes on the card itself: how it is issued
The take
This is the pre-merger PVR tier, still serviced: Kotak's Key Fact Statement prices it and the bank's 31 July 2026 schedule of charges lists it, so the closed base is alive even though no product page resolves. Like every card in the PVR family it earns no points at all — it earns cinema tickets. Put ₹10,000 through it in a billing cycle and one arrives; ₹15,000 and two do. Kotak values each at ₹400, a hundred more than the newer PVR INOX card's, which is the one genuine advantage this tier has left. Everything else favours the replacement. The step table stops at two tickets where PVR INOX keeps counting — ten tickets at ₹1,05,000 of monthly spend — and the exclusion list is longer: utility, education, wallet loads, rent and online gaming all stopped counting toward the milestone on 1 June 2025, against just rent, wallet loads and gaming on PVR INOX. Nil to get, ₹499 a year to keep with no waiver at any spend. If you hold it and spend around ₹15,000 a month, ₹800 of tickets against a ₹499 fee still works. Above that, the newer card pays more.

The downgrade
Kotak Mahindra Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and the numbers above are the whole of it.

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →
The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.
What's good
- 1 PVR ticket worth ₹400 at ₹10,000 of billed spend in a cycle, 2 at ₹15,000
- Nil joining fee
- Kotak values this tier's ticket at ₹400 — a hundred rupees more than the newer PVR INOX card's
Watch out
- No per-swipe earn whatsoever — the card is absent from Kotak's Reward Points Program list
- The ticket table stops at two a cycle; the newer PVR INOX card keeps counting past ten
- Utility, education, wallet loads, rent and online gaming do not count toward the milestone since 1-Jun-2025 — a longer list than PVR INOX carries
- The ₹499 annual fee has no spend waiver: the Key Fact Statement prints NA in both waiver columns
- Kotak resolves no product page for this tier; only the all-cards grid, the Key Fact Statement and the schedule of charges name it
- CLOSED to new applications — Kotak's own all-cards grid stamps this tile "Discontinued for new applications" (read 2026-08-23). Existing holders keep the card; there is no way in.
- Tickets must be claimed within two monthly billing cycles and expire 60 days after claiming
- Cancel a transaction after spending its ticket and Kotak debits ₹250
- No lounge access of any kind
What these points actually fly
No live transfer route takes Statement cashback (₹) into a programme that publishes an award chart. These points buy catalogue and portal redemptions, not award seats — so this page has no flight to show you, and will not invent one.

- 30 Sept 2026Dream Different's unredeemed reward points expire after 30 September 2026Reward points accrued on the Dream Different Credit Card up to 31 March 2026 sitting in the account with no stated expiry date → A hard forfeiture date — "After 30th September, 2026, any unredeemed Reward Points will automatically expire"
The second half of the note that closed the programme is the part holders can still act on. Kotak's cardholder agreement gives every Dream Different point accrued up to 31 March 2026 a six-month redemption window that shuts on 30 September 2026, after which unredeemed points are forfeited outright. At the agreement's own conversion rate of 25 paise per point, a year of the card's headline 4-points-per-₹100 online earn on ₹1 lakh of online spend is roughly 4,000 points, about ₹1,000 — small money, but money that becomes zero on 1 October. Points redeem against the Kotak catalogue (flights, hotels, vouchers, merchandise) or as a statement credit through the rewards portal or the contact centre, each with its own minimum, so a last-week redemption risks missing the date on processing alone.
