Reliance Silver Credit Card

Priced on the everyday mix — 30% groceries · 10% utilities · 20% travel · 6% fuel · 34% everything else — with this card's published category rules applied. Plus milestones, minus the fee. No accelerator credit — the ranking model on /compare adds ~20% of spend at the card's best accelerator, so its ₹ for this card reads higher.

Pays from the first rupee

At ₹1,000 a month — ₹12,000 a year — on the everyday mix this card returns ₹100 gross (earn ₹100) against its ₹0 fee = ₹100 net — at or above ₹0 from the first rung we price. The ladder runs in ₹1,000 steps to ₹1,00,000 a month and ₹10,000 steps to ₹5,00,000; figures are rounded to the hundred, and the accelerator is never credited.

2 notes on the card itself: how it is issued · why it ranks #892

Citibank · Not published · entry

Why #892 The junior half of Citi's Reliance pair, and a case study in a tiering that isn't one: same rate, same fee, half the sign-up voucher. Carried because Citi sold it as its own product and because saying so plainly is more useful to a reader than quietly filing one card.

The take

Put this page next to the Reliance Gold's and the tiering evaporates. Same free-for-life fee. Same four-tier accrual table, to the word: the top rate for spends made by standing instruction against a Reliance post-paid mobile bill, a middle rate at Adlabs and at select Reliance World and Reliance Communications products, the base rate on everything else including any other standing instruction. Same five add-ons free for life. Same IndianOil fuel-surcharge waiver. The only published difference in the entire document is the sign-up voucher, which is ₹200 here against the Gold's ₹400 — ₹100 for Reliance World broadband and gaming, ₹100 for a popcorn credit at Adlabs. That is a one-time ₹200 gap between two cards that then behave identically forever, and it is worth knowing because "Gold" and "Silver" in Indian card marketing usually imply a rate difference and here they did not. The rest is the same story as its sibling: every tier above the base was tied to Reliance properties that no longer exist, and the card is long withdrawn. As a travel card it was always a blank.

The downgrade

Citibank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and the numbers above are the whole of it.

If you call to cancel

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →

The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.

What's good

  • Free for life in Citi's own printed words, with up to five add-on cards also free for life
  • The accrual table is identical to the Reliance Gold's — the same top rate for a standing instruction against a Reliance post-paid bill
  • Sign-up vouchers worth ₹200 in total: ₹100 for Reliance World broadband and gaming, ₹100 for a popcorn credit at Adlabs
  • Fuel-surcharge waiver at IndianOil outlets, taking Citi's stated 2.5% surcharge to zero

Watch out

  • WITHDRAWN — gone from Citi India's range before the Axis Bank handover, and not one of the nine products on Axis's Forward Together site
  • THE ONLY DIFFERENCE FROM THE GOLD IS A ONE-TIME ₹200 VOUCHER: fee, accrual table, add-on rule and fuel waiver are word-for-word identical, so the Silver/Gold naming implies a rate gap that does not exist
  • EVERY ACCELERATOR WAS TIED TO A DEAD ECOSYSTEM: Adlabs, Reliance World and Reliance Communications outlets are all gone
  • No lounge access, no co-brand airline, no travel accelerator, no forex concession and no conversion out
  • The earn is IDENTICAL to the Gold's, table for table — what separated the two cards was the fee and the sign-up benefit, never the rate

What these points actually fly

No live transfer route takes Citibank Reward Points into a programme that publishes an award chart. These points buy catalogue and portal redemptions, not award seats — so this page has no flight to show you, and will not invent one.

1 sourced rule

Citi's own product page, read from the archive — a byte-identical accrual table to the Gold sibling: "5 Rewards Points | For every Rs. 150 spent through standing instruction facility availed for paying Reliance mobile bills (post-paid)" against "1 Rewards Point | For every Rs. 150 spent on all other spends including other standing instructions". The card is closed and the live host is gone; only the telecom row is asserted here.
