SimplySAVE Merchant SBI Card
KeepFree forever, and not a credit card: SBI's merchant SimplySAVE is a charge card you clear in full.

What it's worth to you, after the fee
Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes how it earns — every net-value number here would be a fee subtracted from rewards nobody has described. Everything we can source — the fee, the charges, the migration that put this card in your hand — is above and stands on its own; this card is simply not on the board, not in the calculator, and cannot win a best-of call until SBI Card publishes terms we can cite.
Why we decline to value some cards, and what it takes to change that →
2 notes on the card itself: how it is issued · why it ranks #443
Why #443 A business card carried, not ranked, and the strangest row in SBI's fee table: a free card that is not a credit card at all. It is here because the mechanics SBI does publish for it change what the plastic actually is, and nobody else writes that down.
The take
Two lines in SBI's Most Important Terms and Conditions are the entire public record of this card, and between them they say something more interesting than most product pages manage. The first is the fee row: NIL to take it, NIL to renew it — one of a handful of genuinely free-forever rows in a table where almost everything asks ₹499 and a spending target. The second is Table (B), a carve-out SBI writes for exactly one card, and it changes what the plastic is. "SimplySAVE Merchant SBI Card is a Charge card. This Card does not offer Cardholder a revolving credit facility. Cardholder has to pay Total Amount Due printed on the Statement." Then the sting in the tail: "For the purposes of SimplySAVE Merchant SBI Card only, the Total Amount Due (TAD) will be construed to be equal to the Minimum Amount Due (MAD)." Read that twice if you run a business on float. It means the statement's minimum is not a minimum — it is the whole bill, every cycle, and the usual escape hatch of paying the minimum and revolving the rest does not exist here. That is a perfectly reasonable design for a merchant card and a nasty surprise for anyone who assumed a credit card behaves like a credit card. What SBI has not published is anything else: no product page, no brochure, no application form, and a 404 from the feed that backs every live card page. So we can tell you what it costs and how the credit works, and we will not invent what it earns.

what we can and cannot price
Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes how it earns — every net-value number here would be a fee subtracted from rewards nobody has described. A break-even is the spend at which value crosses a fee, and we are short one side of that sentence — so this desk prints no ladder, no crossing and no ₹0 standing in for either. What we can source about this card is under Sources.

The downgrade
SBI Card publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and we cannot price either side of it.

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →
The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.
What's good
- Free forever — SBI's fee table reads NIL in both the one-time and the recurring column, which almost nothing else in that table does
- The mechanics are published even though the benefits are not: SBI writes this card its own table in the MITC
Watch out
- IT IS A CHARGE CARD, NOT A CREDIT CARD — SBI's Table (B) says it 'does not offer Cardholder a revolving credit facility' and you must pay the Total Amount Due every cycle
- THE MINIMUM IS THE WHOLE BILL: 'the Total Amount Due (TAD) will be construed to be equal to the Minimum Amount Due (MAD)' — a clause SBI writes for this card and no other
- SBI publishes NO product page, brochure or benefit sheet — its rewards are entirely unstated, so we decline to value it
- Sharing the SimplySAVE name is not evidence of sharing its rewards: this card is priced differently, works differently, and appears in none of the MITC's reward-scheme clauses
- No lounge access: SBI's Airport Lounge Access page names no SimplySAVE card at all, in either Set A or Set B
- The product-record feed that backs every live SBI card page returns a 404 here, and SBI's sitemap carries no URL for it
What these points actually fly
SBI Card has not published what this card earns, so there are no points here to fly with — not zero points, and not points that go nowhere: nothing stated either way. The moment a benefit sheet exists we will price whatever it names.

the route in — no cutoffs published
The cutoffs and the actual route in — not the "apply now" button, the door that opens.
Invite-only — there is no public application form. The bank calls you.
You do not apply — SBI offers it, and the name says to whom. There is no product page, no brochure and no application form anywhere in sbicard.com's sitemap, and therefore no published turnover, vintage or eligibility criteria. If it is offered to you across a counter, the question to ask before signing is not what it earns but how the billing works: it is a charge card whose minimum due is the full outstanding, every month.
SBI Card publishes no income or age cutoffs for this card. Blank means blank — we don't invent numbers to fill a grid.

- 3 Aug 2026SBI drops Etihad Guest from the MILES transfer table — the last SBI door into the programmeSBI Card Travel Credits transferred 1:1 into Etihad Guest, one of eighteen airline partners in §3 of the MILES rewards T&C. At the ₹1/partner-mile anchor that was a full-value exit, and it was the only route left after the two Etihad Guest SBI co-brands were retired. → No Etihad route at all. The MILES rewards T&C now lists seventeen airline partners and Etihad is not one of them — the word does not appear anywhere in the seven-page document. Every other SBI partner survives at the same ratio.
SBI Card's own MILES rewards T&C, re-fetched on 22 August 2026 and carrying a 3 August 2026 ModDate inside the PDF, has one fewer airline in it than the edition this desk read on 2 August. The deletion is provable from the numbering rather than from absence alone: the table's first seven rows are unchanged (Air Canada 3, Air France-KLM 4, Air India 5, British Airways 6, Cathay 7), and every row from position eight onward has moved up exactly one — Thai from 14 to 13, Qantas from 17 to 16. Position eight was Etihad Airways / Etihad Guest / 1:1. All twenty-four other partners we carry, airline and hotel, are still there at the same ratios, so this is Etihad being dropped and not SBI narrowing transfers. The timing matters more than the ratio. SBI phased out the Etihad Guest SBI and Etihad Guest SBI Premier cards from December 2025 and reissued holders onto MILES products, and the transfer route was what made that migration survivable — a Premier holder who had spent six years earning Etihad miles could keep feeding the same account through Travel Credits. That is now closed, and India's remaining pipes into Etihad Guest run through BOBCARD's Etihad co-brands, not through SBI. If you hold SBI Travel Credits earmarked for an Abu Dhabi business seat, they are Aeroplan, Flying Blue, Avios or Maharaja points now. ON THE DATE: SBI publishes no notice and no cut-off. The date here is the day the desk read the change out of SBI's own document; the PDF's internal ModDate puts the edition at 3 August 2026, which is the earliest day we can prove, not an announcement.

- official Product-record feed — returns 404, so SBI serves no product page or benefit sheet for this card
- official Airport Lounge Access — no SimplySAVE card appears in either Set A or Set B, so this one opens no SBI lounge door
