Priced on the everyday mix — 30% groceries · 10% utilities · 20% travel · 6% fuel · 34% everything else — with this card's published category rules applied. Plus milestones, minus the fee. No accelerator credit — the ranking model on /compare adds ~20% of spend at the card's best accelerator, so its ₹ for this card reads higher.

Pays for itself at ₹9,000 a month

At ₹9,000 a month — ₹1,08,000 a year — on the everyday mix this card returns ₹2,600 gross (earn ₹1,400 + milestones ₹1,300) against its ₹2,499 fee = ₹100 net — the first rung at or above ₹0. The ladder runs in ₹1,000 steps to ₹1,00,000 a month and ₹10,000 steps to ₹5,00,000; figures are rounded to the hundred, and the accelerator is never credited.

2 notes on the card itself: how it is issued · why it ranks #34

Bandhan Bank · Not published · premium

Why #34 The one Bandhan card built around travel spend rather than around a lounge quota: 20 points per ₹200 on travel is a 2.5% travel rate, and 1.99% forex keeps it working abroad. It sits below Lumina because the points still stop dead at ₹0.25 in a catalogue, and below the transferable-currency cards for the same reason — a 2.5% travel accelerator that cannot become an award seat is a discount, not a mile.

The take

Flare is the interesting one on Bandhan's shelf, because it is the only card of the four whose earn grid is pointed at travel: **20 reward points per ₹200 on travel spend**, double the base ten, which at Bandhan's own ₹0.25 a point is a clean 2.5% back on flights and hotels. Pair it with a **1.99% foreign-currency markup** — comfortably under India's 3.5% norm — and four domestic plus one international lounge visit every quarter, and ₹2,499 buys a coherent travel card rather than a bundle of coupons. The ceiling is the currency. Delight Points redeem in Bandhan's own Delights catalogue and nowhere else — no airline, no hotel, no transfer partner of any kind — so 2.5% on travel means 2.5% off a voucher, not a business seat you could never have paid cash for. That is the whole argument against it, and it is the same argument that separates every catalogue card from every transferable one. Against a rival paying 1.5% into a currency that reaches KrisFlyer, Flare's bigger number is the smaller outcome. Against a plain 1% cashback card it is a straightforward win, especially if you actually spend abroad, where the markup gap alone is worth more than the earn. The ₹2,499 waives at ₹6,00,000 of annual spend, which is ₹50,000 a month — reachable, but note that rent and wallet loads are struck out of the count.

The downgrade

Bandhan Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and the numbers above are the whole of it.

If you call to cancel

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →

The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.

What's good

  • 20 reward points per ₹200 on travel — 2.5% back, double the base rate
  • 1.99% foreign-currency markup, against an Indian norm of 3.5%
  • 4 domestic and 1 international lounge visit every quarter at select airports
  • 5,000 bonus points every month you spend ₹75,000 — ₹15,000 a year on Bandhan's own Value Chart
  • ₹2,000 Amazon Pay voucher on ₹10,000 of spend in the first 30 days, and the ₹2,499 waives at ₹6,00,000

Watch out

  • Delight Points reach no airline and no hotel — ₹0.25 in the Delights catalogue is the ceiling
  • Bandhan publishes no lounge network and no lounge list; 'select airports' is all the MITC says
  • Rent and wallet loads do not count toward the ₹6,00,000 fee waiver, and rent carries a 1% fee capped at ₹250 a transaction
  • 2% monthly interest is for existing Bandhan customers; new-to-bank cardholders pay 3.5% a month, 42% a year
  • Bandhan does not define which merchant categories count as 'travel' for the 2X rate
  • Every unredeemed point is forfeited the moment the card closes (Cardholder's Agreement §13.13)

What these points actually fly

No live transfer route takes Bandhan Delight Points into a programme that publishes an award chart. These points buy catalogue and portal redemptions, not award seats — so this page has no flight to show you, and will not invent one.

Does your spend count toward the fee waiver?

not published — and we say which

₹6,00,000 a year is the bar that waives the ₹2,499 fee. A different question from the one above — earning points and counting toward a threshold are separate rules, and issuers write them separately.

Not published. Bandhan Bank states what the Bandhan Bank Flare Credit Card earns, but has not published which spend categories count toward the fee waiver and the milestones — the ₹6,00,000 bar. We won't guess it from the earn table or from a sibling card: Axis published three cards' rules on one day and all three lists differed. If you hold this card and have it in writing from the issuer, send us the document and we'll source it.

The fine print

7 of 7 MITC rows published

What the MITC actually says — the rates, fees and cutoffs the brochure skips.

Forex markup 1.99% + GST — well under Indias 3.5% norm
APR 2%/mo (24%/yr) for existing Bandhan customers, 3.5%/mo (42%/yr) for new-to-bank; cash advances 3.5%/mo
Late fee Nil below ₹100; ₹100 (₹100–500); ₹500 (₹501–5,000); ₹750 (₹5,001–10,000); ₹1,100 (₹10,001 and above)
Cash advance 3.5% of the withdrawal, min ₹500
Add-on card Nil — "There is no joining and annual fee for Add-on Cards"
Overlimit 2.5% of the overlimit amount, min ₹500
Redemption fee Nil

Bandhan publishes ONE MITC for its whole five-card shelf, dated 13 Jul 2026, and it is the only fee document the bank puts out. Add-on cards carry no joining and no annual fee on any variant. Reward redemption is free. EMI processing ₹99 and EMI foreclosure 3% of the remaining outstanding, min ₹100, on every variant. Bandhan publishes NO income floor, NO age band and NO eligibility table for any of its four cards — not on the product page, not in the MITC, not in the Cardholder''s Agreement — so those rows are honestly empty. Every Apply Now button reads "For existing Bandhan Bank customers only", which is the only entry criterion the bank states. Note also what the renewal-fee waiver does NOT count: "Rent payment transactions and wallet load transactions, along with any associated processing fees, will not be considered when availing of the renewal fee waiver." Flare is ₹2,499 on one MITC row serving both the joining and the renewal charge, waived on ₹6,00,000 of annual spend. Rent (MCC 6513) carries a 1% fee plus GST capped at ₹250 a transaction. Fuel surcharge waiver 1%, max ₹500 a statement cycle, on transactions between ₹500 and ₹5,000. Returned payment ₹350; cash payment at a branch is free on Flare and Lumina but ₹100 on the three cheaper cards.
