No accelerator credit — the ranking model on /compare adds ~20% of spend at the card's best accelerator, so its ₹ for this card reads higher.

Pays for itself at ₹5,000 a month

At ₹5,000 a month — ₹60,000 a year — on the everyday mix this card returns ₹500 gross (earn ₹500) against its ₹499 fee = ₹0 net — the first rung at or above ₹0. The ladder runs in ₹1,000 steps to ₹1,00,000 a month and ₹10,000 steps to ₹5,00,000; figures are rounded to the hundred, and the accelerator is never credited.

The take

PNB's Zaggle co-brand is issued as a TWIN — one RuPay Select and one VISA Platinum card under a single sanctioned limit, a shape nothing else on this board models. The RuPay leg carries the real numbers: 8 domestic lounge visits a year (2 a quarter) plus 2 international a year under the NPCI RuPay Select programme, and a ₹1,500 MakeMyTrip welcome voucher. The VISA Platinum leg adds something PNB's other finds don't have at all — 2 RAILWAY lounge visits a quarter, the kind we already model for the IRCTC co-brands — plus an ixigo offer of up to 15% off flights and hotels (capped ₹1,200, ₹5,000 minimum, once a month) and jewelry-purchase discounts. Zaggle is an expense-management platform, but this SKU is sold to individuals on a ₹2.5 lakh/year income floor, not issued through an employer, so it stays in scope. Earn is modest but real: 10 points per ₹300 spent, valued at ₹2.50, which works out to 0.83% at the shelf's flat ₹0.25 rate. Add quarterly Flipkart/Myntra and Ola/Uber vouchers, a BookMyShow BOGO, three months of Cult Fit and Swiggy One, and a Prime/JioHotstar welcome, and this is a genuinely broad ₹499/₹499 card — the railway lounge leg alone makes it worth the modest fee for anyone who travels by both plane and train.

The downgrade

Punjab National Bank / Zaggle publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and the numbers above are the whole of it.

If you call to cancel

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →

The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.

What's good

  • 8 domestic + 2 international airport lounge visits/year (RuPay leg, NPCI programme) PLUS 2 railway lounge visits/quarter (VISA leg) — the only PNB find with a railway-lounge benefit
  • ₹1,500 MakeMyTrip welcome voucher, plus a Visa activation voucher up to ₹250
  • ixigo offer: up to 15% off flights and hotels, capped ₹1,200, once per card per month
  • ₹499 joining and annual fee, waived above ₹1.5L of the preceding year's spend; add-on cards free

Watch out

  • Issued as a TWIN — you receive and manage two physical cards (RuPay Select + VISA Platinum) sharing one credit limit
  • 0.83% base earn (10 points per ₹300 at a flat ₹0.25/point) — the value here is the lounge/discount stack, not the points
  • Confirm before applying that your specific application is the individual retail SKU, not an employer-issued Zaggle expense card — corporate cards are out of scope for this desk
  • No forex markup published on the card's own page; the bank-wide standard is 3.5%

What these points actually fly

No live transfer route takes PNB Reward Points into a programme that publishes an award chart. These points buy catalogue and portal redemptions, not award seats — so this page has no flight to show you, and will not invent one.

What earns, what doesn't

2 sourced rules · 1 pay zero

PNB publishes NO merchant-category exclusion list for any card on its shelf — not on the product pages, not in the Key Fact Statement, not in the MITC, which mentions merchant categories only to reserve the bank's right to BLOCK a card transacting on restricted MCCs. So this row states the two deviations PNB does document and nothing else; every other category answers "not published" rather than a guess.

PNB charges 2% of the transaction (min ₹100 instant / ₹200 Easy Pay) to convert, and 12–18%/yr on the instalments

Does your spend count toward the fee waiver?

not published — and we say which

₹1,50,000 a year is the bar that waives the ₹499 fee. A different question from the one above — earning points and counting toward a threshold are separate rules, and issuers write them separately.

Not published. Punjab National Bank / Zaggle states what the PNB Zaggle Twin earns and does not earn, but has not published which spend categories count toward the fee waiver — the ₹1,50,000 bar. We won't guess it from the earn table or from a sibling card: Axis published three cards' rules on one day and all three lists differed. If you hold this card and have it in writing from the issuer, send us the document and we'll source it.

The fine print

7 of 7 MITC rows published

What the MITC actually says — the rates, fees and cutoffs the brochure skips.

Forex markup 3.5% over and above the currency conversion rate — PNB's nil-markup carve-out names only the two LUXURA metal cards
APR 2.95%/mo (35.89%/yr); 1.5%/mo (19.56%/yr) on a card issued against a PNB fixed-deposit lien
Late fee Slabbed on the total amount due: Nil up to ₹1,000; ₹500 on ₹1,001–₹5,000; ₹600 on ₹5,001–₹10,000; ₹750 above ₹10,000
Cash advance 2% of the amount, min ₹150 at PNB ATMs / ₹200 at other ATMs / ₹300 overseas
Add-on card Nil — the product page allows an add-on at no fee
Overlimit 2.5% of the overlimit amount, min ₹500 (min ₹250 on a card issued against a fixed deposit)
Redemption fee None published — but a redemption needs at least 1,000 points, and points expire 3 years from the date of accrual

₹499 to join and ₹499 a year, waived above ₹1.5 lakh of the previous year's spend, on the lowest income bar PNB publishes for a co-brand — ₹2,50,000 a year. The earn is blocky rather than marginal: 10 Reward Points (PNB values them at ₹2.50) per ₹300 of spend "and multiple", so a ₹299 transaction pays nothing and ₹599 pays the same as ₹300. The RuPay Select half carries the lounge — 8 domestic visits a year (two a quarter) plus 2 international — and the VISA Platinum half carries 2 railway lounge visits a quarter and the Visa activation voucher. Insurance is a ₹10 lakh personal-accident cover. Fuel surcharge waiver 1% (min ₹12.50) on fills above ₹500 and below ₹4,000, capped ₹350 a billing cycle. The MITC values a point at 25 paise; pnbcard.in/rewards.html still says 50 paise.
