What it's worth to you, after the fee

Welcome: None published — KVB names a joining bonus for its Eternis and Altura cards and none for this one

Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes a fee — every net-value number here would be wrong by exactly the fee we can't find. Everything we can source — the earn rate, the transfer routes, the lounge doors — is above and stands on its own; this card is simply not on the board, not in the calculator, and cannot win a best-of call until Karur Vysya Bank publishes a fee schedule we can cite.

Visa — Visa Signature — the tier KVB names for this card in its own stock-exchange release

Why #520 Carried, not ranked, because no fee is published — and the more interesting reason to read this file is the point value. KVB prints a DIFFERENT redemption rate per card in the same release, and Samara's is ₹0.50, half what its Eternis and Altura siblings redeem at. A reader who carries the range's headline "1 Reward Point = ₹1" onto this card doubles its worth in their head.

Annual fee — no issuer document states one
None
Fee waiver

KVB Reward Points house at ₹1.00 because that is what KVB's Eternis page and its Altura release line both state. On SAMARA the bank prints "(Value: 1 Reward Point = Rs 0.5)" — a per-card haircut of exactly half, baked into `earn.base` rather than pretended away. So one point per ₹100 is 0.5% here, and the six-times dining and online rate is 3%.

The take

Samara is the Visa Signature rung of the four-card Visa range Karur Vysya Bank filed with the stock exchanges on 29 May 2026, and it is the one built around a table rather than a boarding pass: six times points on dining and online shopping, a year of Taj Epicure, six months of EazyDiner Prime and a year of Amazon Prime. Read the point value before you read the multiplier. KVB prices its reward point per card in the same paragraph it prices the earn, and Samara's line reads ₹0.50 — half the ₹1 its Eternis and Altura siblings redeem at. So "1 point per ₹100" is half a percent, not one, and "6X on dining and online" is 3%, not 6%. Three percent on restaurants and e-commerce is still a good number by Indian standards; it is simply not the number the multiplier suggests, and this is the single most likely thing about the KVB range to be misread. The rest is honest absence. KVB has published no fee for this card: the release says standard joining and yearly fees apply and sends you to the DLite app, and the bank's own charges schedule — which prices KVB Platinum at ₹599 and Honour at ₹999 — does not list Samara. It names no lounge access for this variant, no zero-forex line (Eternis and Altura get one; Samara does not), no welcome bonus, and no transfer partner for the points. Under our admission rules that makes Samara a cashback card wearing a travel range's badge, and it is filed as one: a card that pays you back in KVB's own catalogue at 0.5% base and 3% on two categories, with a Taj dining membership on top and a price nobody has printed.

Your renewal — keep, downgrade or cancel

There is no renewal arithmetic to run on this card yet — and a break-even we cannot source is not one we will print.

Keep, downgrade or cancel

what we can and cannot price

Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes a fee — every net-value number here would be wrong by exactly the fee we can't find. A break-even is the spend at which value crosses a fee, and we are short one side of that sentence — so this desk prints no ladder, no crossing and no ₹0 standing in for either. What we can source about this card is under Sources.

The downgrade

Karur Vysya Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and we cannot price either side of it.

If you call to cancel

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →

The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.

What's good

  • 6X reward points on dining and online shopping — 6 points per ₹100, worth 3% at Samara's own ₹0.50 redemption value
  • A one-year Taj Epicure membership, the dining programme KVB names for this card and no other in the range
  • A six-month EazyDiner Prime subscription and a twelve-month Amazon Prime membership
  • Issued on Visa Signature, the tier KVB names for it in a filed stock-exchange disclosure

Watch out

  • A KVB reward point is worth ₹0.50 ON THIS CARD, not the ₹1 its Eternis and Altura siblings redeem at — the base rate is 0.5%, not 1%
  • NO FEE IS PUBLISHED. KVB says standard joining and yearly fees apply and points you at the DLite app; its own charges schedule prices Platinum, Honour and Corporate and omits this card entirely
  • So this card is carried but not ranked, not crowned and not in the calculator — there is no cost to net the benefits against
  • No zero-forex line for this variant. KVB gives that benefit to Eternis and Altura by name and says nothing at all about Samara, so nothing is claimed here — do not carry a sibling's benefit onto it
  • No lounge access is named for this card anywhere — the release lists airport lounges as a portfolio-level benefit without saying which variants carry it
  • No welcome bonus is published for Samara, while the two Infinite cards in the same release both get one
  • KVB publishes no transfer partner for its reward points, so they redeem inside KVB's own catalogue and reach no airline or hotel programme
  • Rolled out to existing KVB customers first, through DLite or a branch; there is no product page and no public application form for it

What these points actually fly

No live transfer route takes KVB Reward Points into a programme that publishes an award chart. These points buy catalogue and portal redemptions, not award seats — so this page has no flight to show you, and will not invent one.

Invite-only — there is no public application form. The bank calls you.

Not by applying. KVB's release calls this an "initial rollout for existing customers" and directs them to check eligibility and pre-approved offers in the KVB DLite mobile banking app or at their nearest branch. There is no Samara page on kvb.bank.in, no entry for it in the bank's sitemap, and the public credit-card shelf still lists only Eternis, Honour and Platinum.

Karur Vysya Bank publishes no income or age cutoffs for this card. Blank means blank — we don't invent numbers to fill a grid.
