HDFC Bank Platinum Plus

What it's worth to you, after the fee
Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes a fee schedule AND an earn table — we have neither number, so there is nothing to net off against nothing. Everything we can source — the fee, the charges, the migration that put this card in your hand — is above and stands on its own; this card is simply not on the board, not in the calculator, and cannot win a best-of call until HDFC Bank publishes terms we can cite.
Why we decline to value some cards, and what it takes to change that →
2 notes on the card itself: how it is issued · why it ranks #756
Why #756 Carried, not priced: HDFC's two pages for this card disagree about whether it has an annual fee at all, it has no row in the August 2026 fee schedule, and it is absent from the only paise-per-point table the bank publishes. Which of its two conflicting accrual figures governs is now settled — the dated change notice, not the product page — but a count with no price beside it still cannot be ranked.
The take
Platinum Plus is the most contradictory card on HDFC's withdrawn shelf, and the contradictions are the story. Its fees page says the card has no annual fees; its product page says it is "not free" and "comes with an annual fee and applicable taxes"; and the bank's August 2026 Key Fact Statement — which prices every other variant it still services, including six that have no product page at all — has no row for it. Neither page publishes a waiver threshold. On rewards the same pattern repeats: the product page states one base accrual, and the 15 May 2026 change notice HDFC links from that very page states a different one, with no redemption rate anywhere to turn either into a rupee figure. So this card is carried with what can be stated and nothing more. On which document to believe we will call it: the change notice wins, and the product page's earn headline — exactly double the notice's figure — is stale. The notice is dated, the product page itself links to it as the governing change, and its table is tuned product by product rather than copy-pasted, with this card sitting alongside every one of its entry-tier siblings. The page's number would instead put a card HDFC has stopped selling level with Regalia, and banks do not quietly double the earn on a withdrawn product. What still cannot be stated is what a point is worth. HDFC's August 2026 Key Fact Statement carries the only paise-per-point schedule the bank publishes, it names eleven products, and Platinum Plus is not one of them — so there is a count here and no price, and a count with no price is a percentage of nothing. That is why this card is carried rather than ranked, and it is one clause away from being priceable. The rest is what can be stated: a monthly milestone that gives fifty per cent more Reward Points once ₹50,000 of spend is crossed in a month, up to three free add-on cards for family, and up to 50 days of interest-free credit at a 3.49% monthly revolving rate. If you hold one, the two questions worth putting to HDFC are what the renewal fee is and what a point redeems at — the bank's public record answers neither.

Keep, downgrade or cancel
what we can and cannot price
Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes a fee schedule AND an earn table — we have neither number, so there is nothing to net off against nothing. A break-even is the spend at which value crosses a fee, and we are short one side of that sentence — so this desk prints no ladder, no crossing and no ₹0 standing in for either. What we can source about this card is under Sources.

The downgrade
HDFC Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and we cannot price either side of it.

If you call to cancel
What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →
The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.
What's good
- 50% more Reward Points once ₹50,000 of spend is crossed in a month
- Up to 3 free add-on cards for family
- Up to 50 days of interest-free credit
Watch out
- Withdrawn — HDFC states "Sourcing of this Credit Card has been stopped" and takes no new applications
- HDFC contradicts itself on the fee: the fees page says there are no annual fees, the product page says the card is not free
- The card has NO row in HDFC's August 2026 Key Fact Statement, which prices every other variant it services
- No waiver threshold is published anywhere
- The product page's earn figure is DOUBLE the one in HDFC's own dated 15 May 2026 change notice — we follow the notice, so treat the page's headline as stale marketing copy
- No redemption rate is published anywhere — the card is absent from the only paise-per-point schedule HDFC prints — so no effective rate can be computed
- Rent and government payments have earned nothing since 1 January 2023
What these points actually fly
HDFC Bank has not published what this card earns, so there are no points here to fly with — not zero points, and not points that go nowhere: nothing stated either way. The moment a benefit sheet exists we will price whatever it names.

Closed to new applications — existing cardholders keep the card; there is no way in.
You cannot. HDFC prints "Sourcing of this Credit Card has been stopped. Existing customers of this card will continue to enjoy the benefits", and adds "We are currently not accepting new applications for the HDFC Bank Platinum Plus Credit Card." An existing holder wanting to know what the card costs to renew will have to ask HDFC or read the statement: the bank publishes two different answers and no fee schedule row.
HDFC Bank publishes no income or age cutoffs for this card. Blank means blank — we don't invent numbers to fill a grid.

- 1 Sept 2026SmartBuy moves Amazon Pay gift cards to 1X under Insta DealsAmazon Pay Gift Voucher sat in SmartBuy's accelerated tier — 'up to 5X Reward Points or 5% cashback' → 'Insta Deals: 1 % Instant Discount + 1X Reward Points' — this brand is out of the accelerated tier
The most-farmed HDFC voucher route stopped being a points play. SmartBuy's own voucher storefront now shows the Amazon Pay Gift Voucher under a new "Insta Deals" tile reading "1 % Instant Discount + 1X Reward Points", and the page's own description flipped from "up to 5X Reward Points or 5% cashback" to "up to 1X". The comparison that settles it sits on the same storefront: the Amazon Fresh voucher still carries an "Accelerated Rewards — Upto 5X Reward Points RPs / 5% Cashback" block that the Amazon Pay page no longer has, so this is one brand leaving the accelerated tier, not the tier closing. The date, honestly: the Insta Deals offer ("Flat 1% OFF", ₹10,000 monthly limit) was already live in the page's own data on 31 August 2026, the reward line still read 5X in the 1 September 16:26 UTC archive capture, and read 1X when this desk fetched the page on 2 September — so 1 September is the community's effective date sitting inside a window we can bracket from primary captures, not a figure HDFC published. The bank has announced nothing and no SmartBuy page carries a notice. Two pieces of context for the size of it: brand vouchers were already sub-capped at 3,000 accelerated points a month from 1 July 2026, and Amazon Pay vouchers disappeared from the portal entirely for stretches of July and August before returning in this shape. Flipkart and Amazon Fresh vouchers still pay the accelerated rate; the ₹10,000-a-month Amazon Pay lane now pays base earn plus the 1% instant discount.
