The take

Pioneer Legacy owns the strangest fee line in this index: ₹50,000 once, then nothing, ever. IndusInd's own MITC prints the annual fee as NIL, and the same table quietly offers Pioneer relationship clients the card at ₹5,000 — itself charged only if you fail to spend ₹50,000 in the first 90 days. What the money buys is access, not points: eight international Priority Pass visits a year (two a quarter), four domestic, two golf games and two lessons a month, and a 1.8% foreign-currency markup on paid cards where most of the market still charges 3.5%. What it does not buy is earn. One reward point per ₹100 on weekdays and two at weekends works out to 0.8–1.6% at our house value, fuel pays nothing, utilities and insurance accrue at a haircut, and the only airline route we can verify is a 2:1 crawl to KrisFlyer — 200 points for 100 miles. IndusInd's published Maharaja Club conversion table does not list this card at all. Take it if the banking relationship gets you the ₹5,000 price; at the published ₹50,000 you are buying lounge visits retail.

What's good

  • No renewal fee, ever — IndusInd's MITC prints the annual fee as NIL
  • 8 international Priority Pass visits a year (2 a quarter) plus 4 domestic
  • 2 complimentary golf games and 2 lessons a month, on ₹25,000 of prior-cycle spend
  • 1.8% forex markup on paid cards; no cash-advance fee, no 1% rent or education-payment fee
  • Weekend spends earn double — 2 RP/₹100 on Saturday and Sunday

Watch out

  • ₹50,000 published joining fee; the ₹5,000 Pioneer-relationship price is invite-gated
  • 0.8% weekday earn at our house value — nobody holds this card for the points
  • Only KrisFlyer is confirmed, at 200 RP → 100 miles; IndusInd's Maharaja Club table omits this card
  • The 1.8% forex applies to PAID cards only — complimentary issues pay 3.5% (official MITC)
  • No rewards on fuel; utilities and insurance accrue at a reduced rate
  • Late-payment and over-limit charges still apply, unlike Pioneer Private and Pioneer Heritage
  • Reward redemption costs ₹100 a request, ₹149 for cash redemption

Where the miles go

Ratios read card points : partner miles — 2:1 means 2 points become 1 mile. Never the other way round.

Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer
2:1 this card (std 10:3) up to 15 working days
Tiger converts 10:3 (₹0.33/point at KrisFlyer's ₹1.10) — a decoy next to the 1:1 Maharaja route. Pinnacle's better 2:1 (₹0.55/point; 200 RP = 100 KrisFlyer miles) is the worthwhile variant, now corroborated by two independent sources (CardInsider review + Paisabazaar Pinnacle page, re-checked 2026-07-21 — the earlier stray '1:1 premium-tier' claim doesn't hold); Platinum/Legend tiers convert at a punishing 4:1.

Invite-only — there is no public application form. The bank calls you.

Invite-only, and it does not appear on IndusInd's public credit-card list at all — Legacy is sold into the PIONEER private-banking book. The published ₹50,000 joining fee is the retail number; the MITC's own footnote prices the card at ₹5,000 for Pioneer relationship clients, and even that is charged only if the card misses ₹50,000 of spend in its first 90 days. If you are not already a Pioneer client, the route is the banking relationship, not an application form. IndusInd publishes no income or age cutoff for the card itself.

IndusInd Bank publishes no income or age cutoffs for this card. Blank means blank — we don't invent numbers to fill a grid.

The fine print

What the MITC actually says — the rates, fees and cutoffs the brochure skips.

Forex markup 1.8% on paid cards; 3.5% on complimentary cards
APR 3.83%/mo (46%/yr)
Late fee Nil ≤₹100; ₹100 (₹101–500); ₹500 (₹501–1,000); ₹600 (₹1,001–5,000); ₹750 (₹5,001–10,000); ₹900 (₹10,001–25,000); ₹1,100 (₹25,001–50,000); ₹1,300 (>₹50,000) — NOT waived (Pioneer Private and Heritage are)
Cash advance Nil — Pioneer Legacy is expressly exempt from the 2.5% (min ₹300) fee
Add-on card Nil
Overlimit 2.5% of the over-limit amount, min ₹500 — Legacy is NOT on the waiver list
Redemption fee ₹100 per request; ₹149 for cash redemption

Joining fee printed as "₹50,000 / ₹5,000*", ANNUAL FEE NIL, no spend-based waiver condition. The MITC footnote reads: "Pinnacle for Grande customers & Legacy customers, Joining fee ₹5,000 will be levied if spends criteria of ₹50,000 are not met in first 90 days of card issuance" — i.e. relationship clients pay ₹5,000, itself waived on ₹50,000 of spend in 90 days. DCC 1% + GST. No 1% fee on rent, education or transport MCCs; fuel attracts 1% + GST above ₹50,000 a statement cycle. Priority Pass billed US$35/visit once the complimentary visits are used. Invite-only — the card is absent from IndusInd's public card list and no income/age bar is published.

    Fee minor IndusInd Bank
IndusInd bolts a 2% DCC fee across its card range
No dynamic-currency-conversion fee on most IndusInd variants From 15 Jun 2026: 2% + GST DCC fee on Platinum, Legend, Nexxt, EazyDiner, Signature, Samman, Tiger and more

IndusInd quietly adds the fee everyone else already charges: from 15 June 2026 a 2% (plus GST) Dynamic Currency Conversion fee applies whenever you let a foreign merchant bill you in rupees, across a long list of variants including Legend, Nexxt, EazyDiner, Signature, Samman and the Tiger. It's the standard 'pay in local currency' trap, and the fix is the standard one — always choose the merchant's currency abroad. Small on its own, but it chips at Tiger's zero-forex travel pitch and is worth naming before it surprises someone at a Bangkok card machine.

    Partner moderate Air India
AU, YES and IndusInd points open transfers to Maharaja Club
AU/YES/IndusInd points locked in closed loops Maharaja routes: IndusInd Tiger 1:1 (Pinnacle 2:1, Legend 4:1); AU Zenith+ 3:2, other AU cards 6:1; YES Marquee/Reserv 15:1

Three banks joined Air India's transfer roster at once — and the ratios are the whole story. The lifetime-free IndusInd Tiger gets the only honest 1:1 (capped 25k/month); AU Zenith+ lands a genuinely good 3:2 that triples what AU points were worth; everything else — Pinnacle 2:1, Legend 4:1, the AU 6:1 crowd, YES at a punitive 15:1 — is a decoy dressed as a partnership.

    Buff moderate Air India
Maharaja Club gets cheaper awards and faster crediting
Higher award costs; slow points crediting Domestic awards from 1,500 pts; credited within 2 hours

A rare buff. Air India's post-merger programme drops domestic award flights to 1,500 points, cabin upgrades to 4,000, credits Star Alliance miles within two hours, and eases Platinum to 60 flights. The transfer target Indian card geeks care about actually got better.

  • 1 Apr 2026
    Lounge minor IndusInd Bank
IndusInd Pinnacle's domestic lounge access goes spend-gated
Complimentary domestic lounge visits with no prior-spend condition From 1 Apr 2026 IndusInd tracks spend; complimentary domestic lounge access from the Jul-2026 quarter must be unlocked by hitting a spend criterion

IndusInd joins the spend-gate parade. From 1 April 2026 the bank begins tracking card spend so that complimentary domestic airport-lounge access — from the July 2026 quarter onward — only switches on if you've hit a spend criterion the quarter before, on Pinnacle and peers. It's the same quiet clawback HDFC and AU ran this year: the visit count stays on the brochure, but the airport door now costs you a spend target first. One more premium card where 'complimentary' quietly grew a condition.

    Devaluation moderate Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer
KrisFlyer quietly cuts its own dynamic 'Access' award rates
Access dynamic awards priced as launched in Nov 2025 Access rates cut up to 10.9% (economy/PE), 3.9% (J/F)

Barely five months after introducing dynamic 'Access' award pricing alongside a broader Saver-chart devaluation, KrisFlyer moved the goalposts again on 28 March 2026 — this time devaluing the dynamic tier itself by up to 10.9% in economy and premium economy. For Indian cardholders funnelling HDFC Infinia, Axis Atlas or ICICI points into KrisFlyer, this is the second haircut in under half a year on the same currency, and it came with the usual zero warning.

  • 10 Jan 2026
    Lounge moderate SBI Card
SBI Card splits domestic lounges into tiers, adds entry fees
Uniform domestic lounge list, free swipe-in access Set A/Set B lounge tiers by card, plus ₹2–25 entry charges

From 10 January 2026, SBI Card sorts its domestic lounge network into a Set A (top cards like Club Vistara SBI Card, Apollo SELECT) and a broader Set B (PRIME, Pulse, Titan SBI Card and others) — and bolts on a non-refundable ₹2 authorization charge plus a ₹25 validation hold on every visit. It's marketed as an expansion since more airports are covered, but the fine print is a two-tier system with new friction at the gate, right after SBI had already pulled complimentary air accident insurance six months earlier.

    Devaluation major Singapore Airlines
KrisFlyer devalues premium and Star Alliance awards
    Old saver/advantage rates Biz/First Saver +5%, Advantage +15%, Star Alliance +5–12%

The single most important transfer target for Indian points — HDFC, Axis, Amex and HSBC all feed it — got pricier. Business and First saver awards rise 5% (Zone 10 up to 20%), Advantage awards jump 15%, and Star Alliance redemptions cost 5–12% more. The ₹2/mile sweet spots just got harder to reach.

  • 25 Mar 2025
    Fee moderate IndusInd Bank
IndusInd hikes redemption fee to ₹149, caps cash-outs at 50%
₹100 + GST per redemption; full points balance redeemable as statement credit; fractional points on multiplier spends ₹149 + GST per redemption (Avios, Pioneer and EazyDiner cards exempt); cash redemption capped at 50% of balance; fractional accrual gone; points clawed back on unpaid dues

IndusInd found four ways to shave the same rewards program at once: the redemption toll rose ₹100 to ₹149 + GST, cash redemptions now stop at half your points balance, fractional accrual on multiplier spends quietly ended, and points earned on a statement you don't pay get rescinded. Pinnacle and Legend holders take the full hit; the Avios card — where the points leave for BA and Qatar anyway — is pointedly exempt.
