What it's worth to you, after the fee
Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes how it earns — every net-value number here would be a fee subtracted from rewards nobody has described. Everything we can source — the fee, the charges, the migration that put this card in your hand — is above and stands on its own; this card is simply not on the board, not in the calculator, and cannot win a best-of call until Union Bank of India publishes terms we can cite.

3 notes on the card itself: how it is issued · the network variants · why it ranks #1118
Why #1118 Union Bank's secured card for the customer with a term deposit and no income proof: ₹25,000 of deposit was the floor, the limit was 80% of it, and there was no annual fee at all. Withdrawn — it has no row in Union's current MITC and no page on its live card listing. Carried, not valued: Union never published a reward rate for it.
The take
USecure was Union Bank of India's answer to a customer it could not underwrite: someone with savings but no income document. The deal was simple and, on the fee line, unusually clean — put between ₹25,000 and ₹5,00,000 on term deposit, accept a lien over it, and get an EMV chip credit card with a spending limit of up to 80% of the deposit and no annual charges at all. Union's own target-group row says the quiet part plainly: "Customer who do not have income proof but need the credit card." What came with it was insurance rather than rewards: ₹5,00,000 of accidental death cover and ₹8,00,000 for an air accident, which for a free card is a real number. What did not come with it was any earn. Union published no reward rate, no cashback and no point value for this card on its page, and it has no row in the MITC that prices fourteen other Union variants — so this desk states none. The only spending benefit named is the network's: "Exclusive offers from Visa on travel, entertainment and dining", which is a Visa programme, not a card benefit. If you hold one, treat it as a credit-building instrument with an FD attached, not as a card that pays you back. Union's secured shelf has moved on; the nearest thing it sells now is an ordinary RuPay or Visa tier against income proof.

Keep, downgrade or cancel
what we can and cannot price
Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes how it earns — every net-value number here would be a fee subtracted from rewards nobody has described. A break-even is the spend at which value crosses a fee, and we are short one side of that sentence — so this desk prints no ladder, no crossing and no ₹0 standing in for either. What we can source about this card is under Sources.
Your copy of this card
You hold this card.
Kept on this device, in your browser. It is never sent to us, never synced, and nothing else on the site reads it yet.
The downgrade
Union Bank of India publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and we cannot price either side of it.
If you call to cancel
What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →
The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.
What's good
- No annual charges, in Union's own fee row — a free credit card for a customer with no income proof
- Issued against a term deposit of ₹25,000 to ₹5,00,000, with a spending limit of up to 80% of the deposit
- ₹5,00,000 of accidental death cover and ₹8,00,000 for an air accident
- EMV chip card on Visa
Watch out
- WITHDRAWN. Union's current credit-card MITC prices fourteen variants by name and this is not one of them, and its live card listing has no USecure page
- UNION PUBLISHED NO REWARD RATE FOR IT. Not on the product page, not in the MITC that states rates for UNICORN and NEXTERIA — so the card is carried without an earn, not ranked and not in the calculator
- Your term deposit sits under lien for as long as the card is live, and the limit is capped at 80% of it
- No lounge access and no travel benefit of any kind — the only Visa line on the page is the network's own offers programme
- Ask for the fee schedule and the finance charge in writing if you still hold one; Union's shelf-wide terms have been rewritten since this page was published
What these points actually fly
Union Bank of India has not published what this card earns, so there are no points here to fly with — not zero points, and not points that go nowhere: nothing stated either way. The moment a benefit sheet exists we will price whatever it names.
