Priced on the everyday mix — 30% groceries · 10% utilities · 20% travel · 6% fuel · 34% everything else — with this card's published category rules applied. Plus milestones, minus the fee. No accelerator credit — the ranking model on /compare adds ~20% of spend at the card's best accelerator, so its ₹ for this card reads higher.

Pays for itself at ₹24,000 a month

At ₹24,000 a month — ₹2,88,000 a year — on the everyday mix this card returns ₹2,000 gross (earn ₹2,000) against its ₹2,000 fee = ₹0 net — the first rung at or above ₹0. The ladder runs in ₹1,000 steps to ₹1,00,000 a month and ₹10,000 steps to ₹5,00,000; figures are rounded to the hundred, and the accelerator is never credited.

The take

Equitas sells six credit cards and markets three. This is one of the three it does not: a fixed-deposit-backed Selfe that appears only in the bank's MITC and Key Fact Statement, with its own fee row, its own interest row and its own line in the cash-limit note. There is no product page for it, no brochure and no apply button — you meet it at a branch, or when a bureau file will not carry an unsecured limit. What you get is the Selfe feature set, and the MITC says so structurally rather than by implication: its §7 features table keys a single row "Selfe/Selfe Secured" and describes one card across both — the choice of two accelerated categories out of Apparel, Dining, Grocery, Utility and Taxi, the choice of two memberships from Amazon Prime, Jio Hotstar, SonyLIV, Zee5 and Discovery+, and the choice of billing cycle from three dates. The same document runs the same reward exclusions, the same 2,000-a-month grocery and utility caps and the same 2-year point validity. What you pay is the story. ₹2,000 a year against the unsecured Selfe's ₹1,000, for identical earning, on a card whose credit limit is your own money in a fixed deposit. The bank publishes no spend waiver for this variant at all — the ₹2,40,000 renewal waiver belongs to the unsecured card's product page and is not offered here, so plan on paying it every year. The cash limit is zero, stated in a KFS footnote that names all three Secured variants by name, so the card cannot be used at an ATM. Forex is 3.50%, India's norm, and no Equitas document gives this card lounge access of any kind — the words do not appear in either the MITC or the KFS. Read it for what it is: a credit-building instrument with a rewards programme attached, at a price that is hard to defend once the file that made it necessary has healed. If you can qualify unsecured, the same card costs half as much.

The downgrade

Equitas Small Finance Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and the numbers above are the whole of it.

If you call to cancel

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →

The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.

What's good

  • Pick your own 2 accelerator categories from Apparel, Dining, Grocery, Utility and Taxi — the MITC gives the Secured variant the same choice as the unsecured Selfe
  • Choice of 2 memberships from Amazon Prime, Jio Hotstar, SonyLIV, Zee5 and Discovery+, and a billing cycle from three dates
  • Backed by a fixed deposit, so it is available on a thin or damaged bureau file
  • Sits on Equitas' 5-tier Privilege Program, where higher tiers redeem the same points for more
  • Fuel surcharge waived at 1% on ₹500–₹3,000 transactions, up to ₹250 a month and ₹3,000 a year

Watch out

  • ₹2,000 + GST a year — DOUBLE the unsecured Selfe's ₹1,000 for the same earning, and Equitas publishes no spend waiver for this variant
  • The cash limit is zero: the Key Fact Statement states it outright for Tiga Secured, Selfe Secured and PowerMiles Secured, so the card does no ATM cash at all
  • No lounge access — the word 'lounge' appears nowhere in either the MITC or the Key Fact Statement
  • 3.50% foreign transaction mark-up; only the PowerMiles pair gets Equitas' 2%
  • Interest is 3.75% a month (45% a year), and late payment runs to ₹1,200 on a bill over ₹50,000
  • ₹99 per redemption request with a 500-point minimum, points expire 24 months after they are earned, and the whole balance is wiped after 365 days of card inactivity
  • A metal card costs ₹3,500 extra and a green card ₹250, on top of the fee
  • Rent, wallet loads, EMI, fuel, cash advances and government spend earn nothing
  • Equitas publishes no product page for this card — no benefits list, no eligibility figures, no apply route

What these points actually fly

No live transfer route takes Equitas Selfe Reward Points into a programme that publishes an award chart. These points buy catalogue and portal redemptions, not award seats — so this page has no flight to show you, and will not invent one.

Not on Equitas' consumer shelf. The bank's public credit-card page markets Tiga, Selfe and PowerMiles only; the Secured line exists in the MITC and Key Fact Statement fee tables and is arranged against a fixed deposit, so the route is a branch or an existing deposit relationship. Equitas publishes no income figure or bureau criterion for it — the unsecured Selfe's ₹5,00,000–₹18,00,000 band is that card's, and does not transfer here.

Equitas Small Finance Bank publishes no income or age cutoffs for this card. Blank means blank — we don't invent numbers to fill a grid.
