What it's worth to you, after the fee

Welcome: Nothing published — no Corporation Bank credit-card document names a joining offer at any tier

Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes a fee — every net-value number here would be wrong by exactly the fee we can't find. Everything we can source — the earn rate, the transfer routes, the lounge doors — is above and stands on its own; this card is simply not on the board, not in the calculator, and cannot win a best-of call until Corporation Bank publishes a fee schedule we can cite.

Why #1032 The bottom of Corporation Bank's live shelf and the cheapest way into its insurance — ₹2.50 lakh of accident cover and a ₹50,000 credit shield at a ₹1.80 lakh income bar. Carried, not valued; Corporation Bank was merged into Union Bank of India on 1 April 2020.

The take

Gold is the floor of Corporation Bank's shelf as the bank last published it, and the honest case for it is insurance rather than earning. The eligibility sheet puts the door at ₹1.80 lakh a year if you are salaried or a professional, ₹2 lakh if self-employed and ₹1.20 lakh if you are a senior citizen up to seventy — against ₹2.50 lakh for the Platinum and ₹10.50 lakh for the Signature. For that you get personal accident cover of ₹2.50 lakh, the same ₹50,000 credit shield against accidental death and permanent disability that the two tiers above it carry, and the same ₹50,000 of purchase protection on any durable good over ₹1,000 for sixty days after you buy it. Only the accident number is cut; the Platinum's is ₹5 lakh and the Signature's is ₹10 lakh inside a ₹50 lakh air limit. The earn is where the tier genuinely loses. A Gold holder earns a point for every ₹150 spent where a Platinum or Signature holder earns one for every ₹125 — the same rupee a point on redemption, so about two thirds of a percent against eight tenths. The five-hundred-point minimum before you can redeem anything is the friendlier one on the shelf, though, half the Platinum's seven hundred and fifty and a fifth of the Signature's thousand, and whatever sits below the minimum lapses at the end of the financial year regardless of tier. The rest of the card is the shelf's common machinery: a Visa accepted at thirty million outlets worldwide, cash up to a fifth of the credit limit against the Platinum's thirty percent and the Signature's forty, a free credit period of fifteen to fifty days, a minimum payment of five percent or ₹100, up to three add-on cards for family over eighteen, EMI conversion on any single purchase over ₹2,500, and a balance-transfer window charged at 1.5% a month for ninety days. No airport door was ever named for this tier — the bank's only lounge sentence lives in a launch note that covers the Signature and Platinum and does not mention the Gold. And, as at every other rung, Corporation Bank never published what any of it cost. On 1 April 2020 the bank was amalgamated into Union Bank of India.

Your renewal — keep, downgrade or cancel

Keep, downgrade or cancel

what we can and cannot price

Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes a fee — every net-value number here would be wrong by exactly the fee we can't find. A break-even is the spend at which value crosses a fee, and we are short one side of that sentence — so this desk prints no ladder, no crossing and no ₹0 standing in for either. What we can source about this card is under Sources.

The downgrade

Corporation Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and we cannot price either side of it.

If you call to cancel

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →

The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.

What's good

  • Personal accident insurance of ₹2.50 lakh
  • A ₹50,000 credit shield against accidental death and permanent disability, with no medical check-up — the same cover the Platinum and Signature carry
  • Purchase protection up to ₹50,000 on any durable good over ₹1,000, against accidental damage, fire or theft, for sixty days
  • An income bar of ₹1.80 lakh salaried, and ₹1.20 lakh for a senior citizen up to seventy — the lowest door on the shelf
  • Redemption opens at five hundred points, against the Platinum's seven hundred and fifty and the Signature's thousand
  • A free credit period of fifteen to fifty days, matching the two tiers above it
  • Up to three add-on cards for parents, spouse, children and siblings over eighteen

Watch out

  • WITHDRAWN — Corporation Bank was amalgamated into Union Bank of India on 1 April 2020 and the card was not carried forward under its own name
  • THE FEE WAS NEVER PUBLISHED: five of the bank's own credit-card documents name benefits, insurance, limits and income bars and not one names a charge — the MITC lived at the branch
  • THE EARN IS THE WORST ON THE SHELF: a Gold holder needed ₹150 of spend for the point a Platinum or Signature holder got for ₹125
  • NO LOUNGE: the bank's single lounge sentence sits in a launch note for the Signature and Platinum and does not name this tier at all
  • The accident cover is ₹2.50 lakh against the Platinum's ₹5 lakh, and there is no air-accident cover of any kind
  • THE INSURANCE DOES NOT ATTACH TO AN UNUSED CARD: cover starts on the first of the month after your first transaction, and an inactive card carries none
  • Points under the five-hundred minimum lapsed at the end of the financial year
  • Cash withdrawals and balance transfers earned no reward points at all
  • Cash was capped at a fifth of the credit limit, the tightest window on the shelf, and carried interest from the day of withdrawal
  • Do not confuse this with Corporation Bank's Visa Gold DEBIT card, a different product on a different page

What these points actually fly

No live transfer route takes Corporation Bank Reward Points into a programme that publishes an award chart. These points buy catalogue and portal redemptions, not award seats — so this page has no flight to show you, and will not invent one.

You cannot. Corporation Bank ceased to exist as a licensed bank on 1 April 2020, when it was amalgamated into Union Bank of India. While it was open you had to be an Indian citizen or a person of Indian origin, aged 70 or under, hold a PAN, hold any type of account with the bank, have a valid mobile number, and show net annual income of ₹1.80 lakh if salaried or a professional, ₹2 lakh if self-employed, or ₹1.20 lakh as a senior citizen up to seventy.

Corporation Bank publishes no income or age cutoffs for this card. Blank means blank — we don't invent numbers to fill a grid.
