What it's worth to you, after the fee

Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes how it earns — every net-value number here would be a fee subtracted from rewards nobody has described. Everything we can source — the fee, the charges, the migration that put this card in your hand — is above and stands on its own; this card is simply not on the board, not in the calculator, and cannot win a best-of call until Union Bank of India publishes terms we can cite.

RuPay — UPI-linkable; the scheme mandates RuPay

Why #375 Carried, not valued. The fee is documented to the rupee — lifetime free, in the issuer's own words — and the earn is documented in two places that contradict each other, so we print no rate at all.

The take

Not a rewards card and not sold as one. This is the credit-card leg of the Government of India's PM SVANidhi scheme: a street vendor who has repaid a PM SVANidhi term loan gets a revolving RuPay card instead of another fixed instalment loan, so the working capital is available on demand rather than drawn down once. Union sets the operating limit at ₹10,000 and raises it toward ₹30,000 "after observing satisfactory card usage", the card is valid five years, and it is lifetime free in the bank's own words — no enrolment, joining, activation, inactivity or renewal charge, all of them set at NIL in the MITC's fee grid too. The restrictions are the product. No cash withdrawal at an ATM or at a point of sale. No international or foreign-exchange transactions of any kind. A merchant-category block list covering liquor, gambling, foreign airlines, car rental and international hotel chains. And a late-payment carve-out that works in the holder's favour: nothing at all is charged on dues up to ₹500, and Union's normal ₹200 / ₹500 late fees only apply above that. EMI is available from ₹2,500 of billed spend at up to 1.5% a month, with no prepayment penalty. On rewards the bank contradicts itself, so we print nothing. The product page says reward points are awarded "in accordance with the Bank's policy"; the MITC says outright that "Reward points not applicable in PM SVANidhi and Micro Enterprise Credit Cards". Neither states a rate, no insurance cover is offered on this card, and there is no lounge access. Treat it as a credit line with a card attached — which is what the scheme designed.

Your renewal — keep, downgrade or cancel

There is no renewal arithmetic to run on this card yet — and a break-even we cannot source is not one we will print.

Keep, downgrade or cancel

what we can and cannot price

Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes how it earns — every net-value number here would be a fee subtracted from rewards nobody has described. A break-even is the spend at which value crosses a fee, and we are short one side of that sentence — so this desk prints no ladder, no crossing and no ₹0 standing in for either. What we can source about this card is under Sources.

The downgrade

Union Bank of India publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and we cannot price either side of it.

If you call to cancel

What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →

The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.

What's good

  • Lifetime free — no joining, activation, inactivity or annual renewal charge, stated as NIL in both the MITC and the product page
  • Operating limit starts at ₹10,000 and rises toward ₹30,000 on satisfactory usage
  • Revolving credit, so the limit is reusable — the point of the switch from a term loan
  • No late-payment charge at all on dues up to ₹500
  • EMI from ₹2,500 of billed spend at up to 1.5% a month, with no prepayment penalty
  • RuPay on UPI, so the limit spends at any QR code
  • Valid five years from issue; 20–50 day interest-free period

Watch out

  • Union publishes NO reward rate. The product page says points come "in accordance with the Bank's policy"; the MITC says "Reward points not applicable in PM SVANidhi and Micro Enterprise Credit Cards" — we will not print a rate off a contradiction
  • NO international or foreign-exchange transactions are allowed on this card
  • NO cash withdrawal at an ATM or at a point of sale
  • Merchant-category blocks on liquor, gambling, foreign airlines, car rental and international hotel chains
  • No accidental-death insurance cover — the MITC excludes this card and the Micro Enterprise card from both its own and NPCI's tables
  • No lounge access; the word does not appear in any Union credit-card document
  • Eligibility is the scheme's, not the bank's: you must be a PM SVANidhi beneficiary who has repaid a term loan

What these points actually fly

Union Bank of India has not published what this card earns, so there are no points here to fly with — not zero points, and not points that go nowhere: nothing stated either way. The moment a benefit sheet exists we will price whatever it names.

Direct application — no invite list, no banking relationship required.

Not an open application. The card is offered to PM SVANidhi beneficiaries — street vendors who have taken and repaid a term loan under the scheme — through the lending branch. The operating limit is set at ₹10,000 to begin with and stepped up toward ₹30,000 on satisfactory usage.

Union Bank of India publishes no income or age cutoffs for this card. Blank means blank — we don't invent numbers to fill a grid.

The fine print

7 of 7 MITC rows published

What the MITC actually says — the rates, fees and cutoffs the brochure skips.

Forex markup Not applicable — international and foreign-exchange transactions are not permitted on this card at all
APR 3.00%/mo (36%/yr); EMI conversion from ₹2,500 of billed spend at up to 1.50%/mo with no prepayment penalty
Late fee Nil on dues up to ₹500; above ₹500 the standard grid applies (₹200 up to ₹25,000, ₹500 above)
Cash advance Not permitted — the card allows no ATM or point-of-sale cash withdrawal
Add-on card NA — no add-on card is offered
Overlimit 2.5% of the overlimit amount, min ₹250
Redemption fee Not applicable — the MITC states that reward points are not applicable on this card

MITC v1.4 (effective 25 Sep 2025), fee grid verbatim: "Micro Enterprise credit card/ PM SVANidhi · NIL · NA · NIL · NA" — lifetime free, with the product page adding "There will be no charges for enrolment/joining, activation, inactivity, or annual renewal—these fees will be set at NIL." THE CONTRADICTION THIS ROW EXISTS TO RECORD: the MITC states "Reward points not applicable in PM SVANidhi and Micro Enterprise Credit Cards" while the product page says points come "in accordance with the Bank's policy", so the card carries the absent (unpublished) earn rate. No insurance cover: "For Micro enterprise and PM SVANidhi credit card, no insurance coverage available." Operating limit ₹10,000 rising toward ₹30,000; card valid five years; MCC blocks on liquor, gambling, foreign airlines, car rental and international hotel chains.
