What it's worth to you, after the fee
Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes how it earns — every net-value number here would be a fee subtracted from rewards nobody has described. Everything we can source — the fee, the charges, the migration that put this card in your hand — is above and stands on its own; this card is simply not on the board, not in the calculator, and cannot win a best-of call until YES Bank publishes terms we can cite.
Why we decline to value some cards, and what it takes to change that →
2 notes on the card itself: how it is issued · why it ranks #657
Why #657 A free co-brand with the travel neobank, and the MITC exempts it from foreign-currency and dynamic-conversion charges by name — the same zero-forex clause that carries Uni and AI Inside. YES publishes no reward rate for it, so it is carried on the forex and not valued on the earn.
The take
Niyo built its business on not charging Indians to spend money abroad, and YES's regulatory document confirms the credit card keeps the promise: "Foreign currency conversion charges and Dynamic currency conversion charges are not applicable to Uni Credit Card, Uni RuPay Virtual, AI Inside, AI Inside RuPay Virtual and NIYO Credit Card." Zero markup and zero dynamic-conversion fee against an Indian norm of 3.5% plus 1%, and NIYO consequently has no row at all in the forex table where every other YES variant is priced. On ₹2 lakh of foreign spend that is ₹9,000 the card does not take, and it costs nothing to hold — YES files it in the lifetime-free block. YES also gives it the premium tier's penalty thresholds on utilities, grouping NIYO with Marquee, Reserv, Uni and AI Inside at ₹50,000 of category spend a month before the 1% fee starts, rather than the ₹25,000 everything else gets. The fuel surcharge waiver runs ₹500 to ₹4,000 and caps at ₹250 a statement cycle, the same band as Elite+, Reserv and YES Essence. What YES will not tell you is what the card earns. There is no rewards module, no MITC earn line, and no NIYO row in the utility reward-points capping table that names fourteen other variants — so this desk prints the fee, the forex and the exclusions and nothing else. Nor is there lounge access: NIYO is absent from the MITC's domestic lounge threshold table, which is the one thing a travel-branded card really ought to have. Read it as a free forex card, not a travel card.

Keep, downgrade or cancel
what we can and cannot price
Not valued. We can't value this card until the issuer publishes how it earns — every net-value number here would be a fee subtracted from rewards nobody has described. A break-even is the spend at which value crosses a fee, and we are short one side of that sentence — so this desk prints no ladder, no crossing and no ₹0 standing in for either. What we can source about this card is under Sources.

The downgrade
YES Bank publishes no document naming a card you can step down to, so we name none — an invented product change is a phone call you would waste. That leaves keep or cancel, and we cannot price either side of it.

If you call to cancel
What the bank offers to keep you is the one fact this desk cannot compute. We are collecting those reports — dated, and only in aggregate — before publishing any: an offer one reader was made is not one you are owed. Called about this card? Tell us what they offered →
The desk publishes subscribable .ics feeds for the dates it knows — offer deadlines, devaluations, expiry audits. Your renewal date is not one of them: only your statement knows it.
What's good
- Zero foreign-currency markup and zero dynamic-conversion fee — the MITC exempts NIYO by name
- Lifetime free — NIL in both fee columns of the MITC's membership grid
- Utility penalty fee only bites above ₹50,000 of category spend a month, the premium tier's threshold
- Fuel surcharge waived between ₹500 and ₹4,000, up to ₹250 a statement cycle
Watch out
- YES PUBLISHES NO REWARD RATE for this card — no rewards module, no MITC earn line, and no row in the utility-points capping table
- No lounge access — NIYO is absent from the MITC's domestic lounge threshold table, which is a real gap on a travel-branded card
- You apply through Niyo, not YES, and Niyo may levy its own platform charges the bank's MITC does not cover
- Niyo's other issuers run different grids — do not read a DCB or SBM Niyo card's terms onto this one
- Revolving credit costs 3.99% a month; the cash advance fee is 2.5% or ₹650, whichever is higher
What these points actually fly
YES Bank has not published what this card earns, so there are no points here to fly with — not zero points, and not points that go nowhere: nothing stated either way. The moment a benefit sheet exists we will price whatever it names.

- 15 Jun 2026YES's ₹100 redemption fee reaches Marquee and ReservMarquee and Reserv exempt from the ₹100-per-redemption fee; card reissuance ₹100–₹200 by variant → ₹100 fee on every redemption request, premium cards included, plus a ₹99 booking fee on YES Rewardz flights; reissuance ₹199; fuel-surcharge waiver window revised
The exemption that let Marquee and Reserv holders pretend the ₹100 redemption fee was someone else's problem is gone. From 15 June 2026 every YES card pays ₹100 per redemption request, and booking a flight through YES Rewardz — the only place the points are worth their ₹0.25 — stacks a ₹99 booking fee on top. On a card whose whole pitch is settling 4.5% online earnings in portal travel, YES now charges you twice at the exit.
